Wildly Handy

In my opinion, this vendor is extremely difficult. To me, he appears to be more interested in proving himself right than satisfying a customer. Specifically, I requested a simple custom wooden plaque cut to match the shape of a brass sign to which the plaque would be affixed. I provided him with exact measurements of the brass sign as well as photographs. He made the wooden plaque in the wrong shape. Please note that the information that I provided to him was sufficient to move forward with the original fabrication of the custom plaque. When I let him know that the shape of his product was wrong and I politely requested that it be corrected, that is when the problems began. To recap, he fabricated a custom wooden plaque in the wrong shape even though I gave him exact perimeter measurements and photographs of the brass sign, i.e., all I requested was a wooden plaque 1 larger than the brass sign on all sides and in the same shape as the brass sign. Simple, huh? Not so much with Evan... When I attempted to have him fix the problem, he argued incessantly. Ultimately he agreed to re-cut the wooden plaque so I sent back his product at my cost along with an exact, real-size template for the brass sign. Let me repeat: an EXACT FULL-SIZE TEMPLATE for the brass sign. He is now indicating that he also requires a drawing with exact measurements and angles in degrees. Strange that he did not require this when he did the first wooden plaque. I have now given up. I will lose the $200+ that I spent because I just do not have the energy to continue to argue with a vendor with such poor customer relations skills. As for the wooden plaque, I can only assume that it is just too complex for him to make based on the exact, real-size template that I send to him. Bottom line: In my opinion, he is not interested in making me, the customer, happy. He appears to be primarily interested in being right. I get the feeling that he does not seem to like his chosen profession nor respect his paying customers or potentially his reputation. So, I suggest that you let give him more free time away from woodworking while allowing him to be right all the time by not using his services. There are many many many customer-centric simple carpenters in the world to choose from other than him. Oh, I have never in my life left a review like this...ever. I am a professional subject to reviews and have a paid professional service that continuously monitors my online reviews to insure that they are posted by real patients. I am sensitive to other vendors or professionals relative to their online reviews. That said, Evan has put himself in a separate category of his own with me, hence this review.

I was really impressed with Evans's work and professionalism. He rebuilt a walkway, box bed, bench and deck for me with great attention to detail. Even put up a new carport cover single-handed. Quite a feat. Excellent work. Always on time and goes the extra mile when needed. Very fair prices for the work he did. I will most certainly have him come back for any future projects.

Exceedingly fair prices for outstanding professional work - no short cuts. Evan does it the right way, the first time, and on time! Performed carpentry (replaced wood rot), repaired a fence gate, and other handy-man tasks inside and outside the home. I wouldn't hesitate to hire or recommend him for a job big or small.
