It is next to impossible to find contractors that you can trust and I trust these guys to give me a upfront and forthright explanation and quote. Would recommend to anyone, they even sealed up an cracking around a skylight that was unrelated to the work they quoted me for, free of charge. Quote was slightly higher than other bids but well worth piece of mind.

I would definitely contact William Mackay Roofing again! Everyone was very responsive via phone and email. Brittany quickly scheduled for a technician to come out -- and the same day Mr. Mackay inspected my roof and emailed me the proposal. He answered all my questions (as did Brittany!) The work was scheduled quickly - and the installers/technicians completed the work in one day. Everything was cleaned up (old roof pieces, etc) afterwards. I was a bit wary about having anything done to my home with COVID-19 -- but everyone really seemed aware of social distancing. I was very happy with how streamlined this went, and how pleasant it was to work with William Mackay Roofing.

William Mackay is a generational roofer in the area with tons of experience on all kinds of roofs, including slate, flat, and shingle roofs, specifically in DC. Our main roof is slate but the back additions are asphalt shingle. After promptly repairing holes in the pitch of our slate roof he approached us with an issue regarding our back addition. He showed us a video his men took of how it was improperly installed and that we would be having issues with the roof - if not now, then in the very near future. IT was shingle stapled into metal roof - no wood or anything which is not up to code. He gave us no pressure at all but it was clear we would be having issues with the roof. We decided to have it reinstalled and that day (it was a Friday) he brought two work teams on site to have it done that afternoon. Bill clearly explained all the issues, stayed on site the entire time, and worked with us in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend Bills' professional service to others.

William MacKay has done several roofing jobs for me. Replaced a roof at one property, replaced the gutters and did a roof "tune-up" at my home, removed a satellite dish from a roof and plugged up a menacing leak caused by the dish, and performed a service upkeep while removing the dish. Totally satisfied with everything they've done, including customer service. And, I appreciate that they don't "nickle-and-dime."

William MacKay company was very easy to work with. They were very communicative throughout the job, arrived when scheduled and completed the full roof installation in one day. They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. The price was competitive compared with other companies (for the same materials and warranty), but William MacKay seemed most knowledgeable and professional. We would hire them again for another project. We also appreciated that they could take all payments via credit card over the phone without charging additional fees.

I worked with Ben MacKay and he was great. Very forthcoming and upfront about the scope of work and cost. I had some patching done on my roof and then an aluminium coating put down. The work took about a day and Ben had even told me how to do the work myself in case I wanted to save money. The pricing was in the middle of several quotes I had received which I thought was fair. The communcaion from Ben was great throughout the process and I asked to inspect the work on my roof before payment which Ben had no problems with. Overall a good experience and I would use MacKay roofing again.
