They installed drip edge over rusty gutter apron whit out saying anything about. It looks very ugly. Not to mention, it will cost me deerly for that to be fixed. I paid for the job and do not want to have anything to do with that contractor.

I worked directly with Marc Williams from the quote through the job execution process. The team did an excellent job installing both a new roof and gutter guards. The work was done quickly and professionally and the area around the house was cleaned up afterwards like they weren t even there. They listened to my concerns with the old roof and focused on addressing those concerns. Very happy with their work and professionalism.

Very bad experience. Quoted approximately $5400, asked if that included roof on porch and advised yes. Then, when they came to pick up the $2500 down payment, advised approximately $1500 more for porch. It took 1-1/2 hours to remove the roof. Mark and his son Tommy then arrived and told me all the wood needed to replaced, and they wanted 80% before they would continue. They would not provide a warranty unless I agreed. What could I do? I questioned why 80% when most contractors do not require that much at the beginning of a big project. That is when the verbal abuse began. They told me people like me do not pay which is untrue since they do not know me and I have never not paid a contractor. I made the decision to pay them 100% of the $10,500 it turned out to be, so I did not have to speak with them again. At that point, I tried to end the conversation, but he stood there with the receipt and would not give it to me. He told me if I left a bad review, he would have me fined $5000 pursuant to disparagement and liquidated damages provision in his contract. I had to threaten to get my phone and video tape him before he gave the receipt to me, so I could go back in the house and get away from him. There is damage to the gutter but I do not even now I will ask him to repair because he is so incredibly rude and I do not want to associate with him. Beware of the reviews. Online, Ms. Desi indicates she used to be friends with Mark, and he asked her, his family and his friends to write fake reviews. And he threatens unhappy customers with fines if they write a review he is unhappy with. He is a bully.
Response from Company:
We are very sorry your recent experience did not meet your expectations. We pride ourselves by delivering exceptional service. When additional work is added to an ongoing project we ask for 80% to cover the costs. This is clearly stated in the agreement. This protects both the customer and our company. It allows us to immediately purchase the additional material and pay our labor. We complete most jobs in one day, yours included! Please allow us the opportunity to make it right for you. We tried reaching out to you several times, but have not heard back.

Marc Williams is a completely honest contractor. His contracts are easy to understand. He details everything he is going to do. No hidden fees. When additional problems occur, his workers stop, then come to you to visually see the problems and don't just cover up the rotted wood, etc. Besides my house and garage roofs, I also had them do new gutters. All his workers are easy to discuss issues that arise, are hard working and do excellent work. I would definitely recommend him. He is also a hands on person to check that the project is being done properly. Needless to say, I love my new roof and gutters. The reason this project took additional time and work was that it was not just a cover up the old roof. I had previously had the biodegradable shingles put on and they melted and leaked into cracks in the old wood under the shingles. They had to go down to the original wood and essentially put on a whole new roof, wood, sheathing, shingles, etc. I have an added on room that was covered with butimus. There was five layers on that roof which they removed. My house is a three bedroom ranch with a one car attached garage (which is now a heated room). I also have a two and a half detached garage. A LOT of roof. There is a fireplace in the middle of the house. The chimney leaked in my parlor several times and my old roofer did a patch job. Marc put on a new saddle. The chimney in the attached garage and add on was 3/4 rotted and gone. That was replaced. My roof, etc. was a virtual nightmare and Marc fixed it all. The next day I went out and bought paint for the FORMERLY leaking rooms. Way to go!!!

I recently hired Williams Roofing to replace my roof and gutters. Marc Williams was incredibly responsive to my initial inquiry and, in plain, easy-to-understand language helped guide me to decide on the various options. Marc remained easily accessible while his excellent crew completed the project. The new roof and gutters look great. I highly recommend Williams Roofing. Thanks for the awesome job, Marc!

The workers worked very hard especially the first day. Did I find some nails in my driveway after they left, yes. But they seemed knowledgeable and worked very hard. Mr. Williams the owner was a little pushy but waited for half the money for three weeks after the job was finished while we obtained a loan. So he will work with you. Overall the experience was positive

Review by Laurie S. in Cary, IL Project: replace roof Marc and his crew were outstanding! I couldn't be happier with my new beautiful roof. I found it very reassuring that Marc came out first thing and inspected the roof himself, taking pictures of pertinent matters for my consideration. He offers a professional opinion and never pushes any decision upon you. The job was done carefully, with attention to every detail, and any questions I had were completely answered. I would recommend Marc Williams Roofing to anyone who worries about whether the job will be DONE RIGHT, because mine certainly WAS!
