"Comments: We would absolutely NEVER HIRE Willie Tile Design Again! He gave us a working estimate of $525.00 to install approximately 95 sf of tile in bathroom- we supplied everything except grouting materials. (this customer originally asked for laminate flooring install of 1200 sqft or more. When I came to do the estimate she also wanted her tub surround done as well. As for all customers I discounted the tile job with the install of the laminate flooring. her original install was just under $3700 including tile and laminate. She elected to just do the tub surround because of death in family. And yes the original tile, off the complete job, was $525. I let her know that the cost will go up since we are just doing the tile work. We did add a few additional items(the additions were laying underlayment and laminate flooring on the bathroom floor, but the floor was very low and we had to level the floor big bucks, removing and replacing her vanity along with a new sink, repairing her door frame as well as the wall that had a huge whole behind the mirror. she wanted a niche placed in and a shelfThen she wanted the ceiling tiled, then she wanted the wall cabinets removed and tiled inside of them. we were all set with schluter strips in place then she changed her mind and wanted small tile deco instead. had to remove schluter first , but the final bill was over $1700.00. He indicated although he was not a plumber, he used a plumbers license from someone at HOME DEPOT, but he could easily remove our toilet and replace the new one we purchased for a fee of $75.00(priced included removal and resetting the toilet with new hardware.). He was supposed to start the job on 9/09, but he texted me the day before and told me that he was behind on a job and he will start the next day. We understand that you can get behind on a job and were fine with the 1 day delay. We did not hear back from him to know exactly what day he would start. However, my brother-in-law was expected to die at any moment and we would be having out of town company staying at our house and needed him to move as quickly As possible(even if I started the job on time the set backs she added pushed the job till the following week.. He showed up on Thursday 9/12 and worked from 8:15a to approximately 2:15pm.(as stated above the floor was not level so we had to put self leveling compound on the floor before we could start, and realistically this needed to dry 36 hour prior to walking in it, so yes, as I explained to her, we had to quit at that point). My brother-in-law did pass away on 9/11, so I again explained the urgency of completing the job enough to accommodate our guests for shower and toilet use. He did a temp fix for the toilet because he said he needed a part, but the shower was still not ready, which meant our house guests had to stay in a hotel (She was well aware of this situation prior to starting. With all of her changes there was no way to complete this job by Saturday). He said he would come back on Saturday and complete the job. He texted me 45 minutes before he was to arrive on Saturday & said he forgot his wife had scheduled dog appointments and a function, thus, he would be back the following Monday. I contacted Home advisor, they also tried to reach him to see what his intentions were, filed a complaint against his company, & they attempted to locate a replacement. Willie sent me a text an hour later & said he would be here in an hour or so. He was clearly mad that he had to come on Saturday, as promised first I never promised her that I would be in because I would have a different working hourly rate on weekends. I never was upset and was glad I could work it out at home, she stated she was just trying to get things done. I again stated that even if I could it needed to dry 48 hours. And again she made changes again... Below are a few issues that would be considered sub-standard by anyone. tub wa"
"THIS CLIENT WAS AKSED TO HAVE THE AIR ON AT LEAST 71 DEGREES, THE THERMOSTAT WAS NEVER ON AND THE WOOD SWELLED. HE DECIDED NOT TO TURN THE TEMP UP AND RESULTING IN SWELLING. IF THE WOOD DID SQEAK IS BECAUSE HE TURNED ON THE AIR. THE ORIGINAL FLOORING SQUEAKED AS WELL, AS WHY ASKED THAT HE TURN UP THE HEAT. AS FOR THE QUARTER ROUND, HE WANTED IT LAYED FALT AND IT WAS DONE SO, COMPLAINED LATER THAT HE WANTED IT UP AND AFTER ASKING TO CHANGE IT HE STATED HE WAS FINE WITH IT. if you are not going to take recommendations of the installer you should not remark a negativity toward them. He was under charged for this whole project and this is the thanks. No one else wanted to work with him because of these concerns."
"Wanted something for nothing, he is in collections for not paying"
"Kaye was trying to sell this home and wanted a quick job. She stated she wanted the grout in corners removed and replaced. The shower was three full pieces and did not need much done but I ask to remove all silicone caulking (no grout) in the entire shower even the doors in and out. She asked for a color change from white to the color of the plastic slabs in shower. It was almond so I changed to almond and she agreed. I explained to her during the removal of the silicone that the left panel was very loose and it needed to be replaced but insisted in just filling the corners with silicone to sell the home. I stated that I can but there will be notes pertaining this on her invoice sheet and the work would not be guaranteed. I returned a call about the review and she stated the color was not changed but we agreed on almond. I stated that silicone needs to dry some before true color shows. She agreed on the price prior to the work done and I stated that it was cut in half for a discount."
"This customer was always changing her mind every day I came in. Took over two weeks to complete. Did not even complete job because of all the changes she made during the time there. But I am not sure why she gave me such a poor rating, everyday she commented on the work. This was one of my better jobs and I always pride myself in my work. Customer only paid half of her bill and refuses to pay rest, this job was discounted 40% for her and her budget. She agreed to this prices and any added changes prior to doing them."
