Wood or Fiber Cement Siding Installation or Complete Replacement
Our experience with Windlickers Roofing & Exteriors was one of the most frustrating home improvement projects we?ve ever undertaken. While the roof itself met our expectations, the LP trim installation and finish work did not. We documented numerous concerns, including inconsistent caulk color, oversized and uneven caulk application, missing caulk in places, trim that wasn?t completed, and siding that was damaged during trim removal. These issues were raised immediately after the work was completed and became the subject of months of emails, inspections, and discussions. To the company?s credit, the owner acknowledged that there were workmanship issues, replaced damaged siding, apologized more than once, and offered credits toward a resolution. However, despite months of follow-up, we never felt the workmanship met the standard we expected or that the remaining issues?particularly the appearance of the caulk and overall finish quality?were adequately resolved.

While we are pleased that you were happy with your new roof, we are disappointed that your overall impression of the project was not a positive one. We believe it is important to provide some additional context for anyone reading this review. The project originally began as a roofing project, but at your request we also agreed to perform extensive trim and repair work on areas of the home that had significant pre-existing deterioration, including damaged siding, improperly installed siding, failed caulk, and severely deteriorated wood components. We discussed our concerns about performing these repairs and explained that, due to the extent of the existing deterioration, many of the affected areas would ultimately be better served by full replacement rather than cosmetic repairs. I also mentioned it may be difficult to achieve quality results due to the water infiltration at the failed caulk lines. I initially declined the job. However, at your urging, because the repairs were urgent, and complete siding replacement was outside the available budget, you asked us to proceed, explaining that anything we could do would be an improvement over the home's existing trim condition. I reduced the cost of the trim work by approximately $5,000 to help with the expense. Throughout the project, whenever concerns were raised, we responded promptly. We replaced damaged materials, made additional repairs, conducted multiple site visits, and even brought in the manufacturer's representative to evaluate the concerns with the caulk independently. During that inspection, questions arose regarding caulking that appeared to have been modified after our installation, making it difficult to assess portions of the finished work accurately. After the initial repairs were completed, we met with you to review the project, and you verbally told us and texted that you were happy with the work. In fact, you later chose to hire our company again to install your new roof?a decision we believe speaks to the confidence you had in our team. That roofing project was completed successfully, and we are extremely proud of the finished result. We also want readers to know that the photos included with this review do not represent the final completed work after the repairs, replacements, and follow-up visits were performed. They reflect conditions during the course of the project rather than the finished result. No construction project is perfect, particularly when working on homes with existing structural deterioration. What we can promise is that when issues arise, we show up, communicate openly, invest the time and resources to address concerns, and stand behind our work. Mike from Windlickers is one of the most honest people I have ever met. He helped me navigate the roof process and never once seemed annoyed or pushy when it came to signing the contract or on what I should install. Instead of bashing competitors like so many others do he kept it straight to the facts of what HE would be doing. All around great guy and I will be recommending him to everyone I possibly can that needs any work done. He went out of his way to help me submit my original roof for warranty because of defective shingles. The one guy who went on that roof and let me know what I had and that I should submit a claim, right there is shows me he actually cared. 100% RECOMMEND!

Mike was extremely pleasant to work with. While writing up the contract, he explained and suggested, but was not pushy at all. The supplies came a day early, as well as the crew. Working with Mike from Windlickers was a fantastic experience. He responded quickly to my call and was responsive throughout the entire experience. We didn't know what had to be done on our roof. Mike was honest about what needed to be done and was willing to work with us. He showed where venting was installed improperly, how the old roofing would damage new roofing and where skylights could create better natural light inside. I was kept up to date through the entire process and never left wondering what the next step was. I recommend using windowlickers for everything from an inspection to full replacement.

Windlickers did an excellent job! Mike actually called us back, He showes up on time, and he has the habit of returning phone calls and texts. We needed a new roof and we were hoping to wait until the spring but we had a difficult repair by the chimney. The leak was getting worse and Mike came by to repair it so we could hold off on a new roof. The repair didn't work, and Mike came back to try again. The second repair didn't work either so we couldn't hold off until spring. It was one week before Christmas and cold. Mike worked magic and got his crew and materials together in a few days. The crew arrived on a cold day, did a complete tear off, built a "cricket" so the chimney would never leak again, and cleaned up beautifully. Mike was here the day of the install to make sure everything went as planned. We were very impressed. Mike kept in touch even though the repair didn't work and he made sure the problem was fixed. He was great to work with, very professional, he answered all of our questions, and was patient and fun. We are perfectionists and Windlickers did a fantastic job!

Michael spent the time needed with us to understand what is involved in the process of roof replacement. He did a thorough inspection and made us aware of the issues that needed repair. In our case replacement due to the age of the roof and due to possible leak issues, Windlickers was able to schedule our roof replacement immediately. Michael and the roofing crew arrived on time, set up and began work immediately. The crew remained on task and completed the roof on our home and detached garage in one day. Our property was cleaned, no debris, nails, etc. remained on the ground when the job was completed. The roofing crew was friendly and courteous, very hardworking, very organized. We like the way the new roof looks! We are thankful for a job well done. We highly recommend Michael, Windlickers Roofing and Exteriors.

I've had the great opportunity to work with Michael Fabian and couldn't have been more impressed. My wife and I truly enjoyed working with Michael Fabian when we recently went through the process of getting our new roof. A new roof is a big decision and a large investment, so we wanted to be absolutely sure we knew what we were getting, and that the job would done correctly. After numerous other quotes, it was clear that Michael's communication and general roofing knowledge was superior to everyone else's. We had many questions, and Michael patiently answered all of them efficiently, thoroughly, and completely. He guided us through the process of picking out our entire roofing system, and he made sure we were kept aware of the schedule from beginning to end. We are more than satisfied with the final result. We also own a small cottage nearby and will be asking for Michael's help with that when the time comes for a new roof there.
