Wow. I wish I read the reviews before I hired him from Angis. I am writing this because I do NOT want anyone else to feel the way I do. He scammed me and my husband. He came to my house for a simple re grout job which turned into a whole new bathroom. He said he would have to tile the shower completely. Since we did not have enough tile left over we asked him if he could rip out the floor so this way we do not have to go crazy to match the floor tile. he gave us a price for the shower and the floor separately. He did the demolition of all the tile and it was horrible. He did not remove the toilet because he said he was going to tile around the floor. There were nails left on the shower walls and floors that he did not remove. He did not chip away the cement on the shower tile before starting to tile so the tile would not we be even. If he worked two to three hours a day that was a lot. He never showed up on time and when he did he always took a lunch which was for more than an hour. He had no workability. He laid down the tile to the shower and when I cam home i looked at it and it was crooked and looked like an amateur placed it. I addressed the uneven joints and he said no problem. I will fix it. Never did. he moved on to half of the wall shower which looks like an amateur also did it. Thank god he did not finish it because I would have lost more tile. I got two contractors to come in and see the work and give me an estimate. They could not believe a professional tile guy did the work. They have to rip down everything he did. The work is so sloppy. All he cared about was redoing the contract and getting more money. thank god w did not pay him everything. Unfortunately, he received $2600 and probably did a $1000 worth of horrible work. We finally fired him two days too late. When we did he told us he did beautiful work. That is all he kept saying. Please do not hire this person, there are so many other tile guys that can do the work. Why take the chance. I feel horrible that he took some of my hard earned money and did not deliver. I just do not want someone else to feel the way I do. I am so angry my next step is to write to the Better Business Bureau and Angis about our experience.

Tile: Ceramic and Porcelain Repair
He seems like a nice guy, but he does not do the work and then he ghosts you. After getting estimates I hired him even though he was more expensive he sounded like he knew what he was doing. The original job was for re-tiling, and some cement work. which he said would be 5K. He arrived and worked for 1.5 hrs and wanted the pool emptied; two other pool companies said that was not necessary. He kept finding problems and pulling up tile and black mold he told me that the job was a much bigger job than he thought and would be 14K but that it would only take him 5 business days to do it he then proceeded to not come in for four days texted me that he would be in on Wed 10/12 that he was finished removing the tiles and had treated for mold unfortunately there are still tiles on one sixth of the pool as well as the skimmers which means the treatment for mold is not complete. He further has notified me that he will not be in for another 5 days. Noting that it is seasonal and this work needs to be completed before the pool is closed and it starts to freeze. I might consider someone with more pool experience.
Response from World Class Tile
"She stated there was a small repair, when checking what needed to be done there was a lot of mold under the tile all over the swimming pool, as read in her review that mold treatment needed to be done. She agreed that all of the tiles needed to be replaced. I never provided the expectation that things needed to be done that did not need to be done. I told her that she needed to drain the water from the pool and she said she wasn't draining the water because it would be expensive to fill up so she didn't give me a way to work. I did not take the money and disappear, it was Sukkot, a seven day Holy period, and I have a right to take off during my Holy Day. I didn't extend the time for no reason, there was a mold issue. She didn't give me a way to work due to the water when I just needed her to drain the pool in order to the complete the job."

Alon was extremely knowledgable about tile and grout. He was able to quickly diagnose the issues I was having, due to poor initial install several years ago. I would define him as "an old-world tile craftsman" who really understands the right way to do things and takes tremendous pride in his work and was able to accurately project the amount of time and effort to do the job right - with excellence. Although the price was a bit more expensive than I thought it would be, I am very happy because it looks great and I have the peace of mind knowing that it will last for many years due to the quality of reset, re-install and the sealant coating he applied. I would definitely hire him if you are willing to get a high quality, "get it done right" job!

I had a new kitchen installed a few years ago. (About 300 sq ft big) After 2 years or so the grout started to breakaway, therefore causing the tiles to crack.(forwarding 4 years later) I needed someone to fix this problem.(Not just to lay tile, but a problem solver) I had 4 other companies come to assess the problem. After hearing their solutions I researched each option online. I was hesitant to have Alon to do the floor after reading the last review. Glad I gave him a chance. Alon's seemed to have the best solution. He quoted me a price that wasn't the cheapest but was not the most expensive either. I knew we also had to see what was under this mess. Alon had to cut flawlessly around my cherry cabinets. (Floor was installed before the cabinets were installed). After he removed everything to the subfloor. We found what was causing the problem. I needed a more sturdy subfloor. Alon lay another layer of plywood to prevent movement. This will help to prevent the same problem from occur again (minimal added cost, well worth it). The job did take a little longer than expected because the tiles I ordered were 9 days delayed in delivery. Alon was very understanding and rearranged his schedule to accommodate me. The porcelain tiles look amazing. Alon did a great job!

A fool and his money are soon parted! I was the fool for not paying attention to the two 1 star reviews Alon received. A nice guy and hard worker but he is in the wrong business. Leaking shower grout repair turned into a complete renovation because of mold. Ripping out the floor and walls, Alon carelessly cut into the drain pipe and I had to call a plumber as he does not do plumbing so $300 dollars later work commenced. There was a bowed stud in the wall that he did not address and screwed cement board over it causing the tiles to bow out when he applied them to the wall. Then he tried to remove the shower diverter, so he could place cement board behind it when he should have been cutting around it. In the process, he used a Philips head bit on his drill and tried to unscrew an Allen head screw which was holding the cartridge together, he stripped the Allen head while trying to open it, and broke the seal, that caused a bit of a flood and $825 dollar replacement of the diverter. I had to lend him my tools to do the job properly because his were in really bad shape. Onto the tile itself... I have a 7-year old grand daughter who could have done a better job. There were uneven gaps in the alignment of the tiles and not a single tile was level. Some tiles were sunk in too far while others were pushed out too far. Not a single line of grout lines was straight. I told him to stop work and either fix it or he would be fired. He left without a word and avoided my calls for a few days but because I had access to other phones I got him to answer and told him to give back any money that he had not earned. His answer was to write a new contract stating what he did without admitting all the mistakes and on the last page he had added that I was satisfied and promised not to sue or WRITE A BAD REVIEW. I had him CROSS OUT the bad review part and add the word NOT before the word satisfied. He was not too happy that I caught the slick move but he returned $2,000 of the $9600 that I had already paid him. I do not think he was reasonable in his prices considering I now have to pay to rip out everything he did and start over from scratch. On an interesting side note, the nice guy told me many times how he had been doing this work for over 17 years and was also in the Israeli defense service in the past and how he was a black belt in some self defense program which left me a little uneasy as to why he would keep repeating these claims. He was without a doubt way out of his expertise in the tile game. Even the plumber who I hired to replace the diverter valve called him out on the sloppy workmanship and told him he did not like to see him taking advantage of me. The plumber seemed to know more about tile than Alon. Go figure! I know this review will be buried under all the positive reviews on the Home Advisor page, but all I can do is warn anyone thinking about hiring World Class Tile to look elsewhere. Do not be a fool with your money as I was. Pay close attention to the bad reviews and good luck. *Nice guy* does not mean the work will be nice work.
Response from World Class Tile
"Hi. My name is Alon (the owner of World Class Tile) We specialize in tile installation. We do bathrooms, showers, kitchens, walls, floors, backsplashes and more... I have many happy customers that enjoy the work I do. Just read the reviews other customers gave me. Steve contacted me for black mold in shower walls and floor. I ripped out tiles and sheetrock to find out that the shower frame as black mold. Mold spray to shower frame, so I told Steve and I showed him black mold in shower frame as mold and I do shower frame but it's. Extra and to rip out shower frame and install its $900 so he asked me why didn't I told him about the Mold in frame when I did the contract ? I told him that I can't see shower frame mold before I ripped out tile and sheetrock he didn't want to pay to get the shower frame done he told me that he is not going to pay for new shower frame, so I gave him back $2000 and let him out off contract. Me giving him back $2000 I think. That I was as fair as I can be. And I don't deserve that bad review he gave me if you will read is review carefully you will see that he admit that. The shower frame ad black mold This customer recall of events is fictional. I learned the trade from my father and my big brother. My family has been in this business for more than 50 years. And I install tile for 17 years. And I opened my company World Class Tile in 2007. I offer all of my customers a 3-year warranty for installation and a 1-year warranty for repairs. Please see my website at www.worldclass-renovationservices.com for more information. Thank you."

By careful inspection on initial visit, Al identified some serious issues with regard to floor stability which had led to cracking porcelain tiles, grout separation and loss. As it turns out, the subfloor was only 5/8 inch rather than 1 1/4 inch plywood which resulted in separation of tiles from backing board. Additionally, the floor had some unusual dips and valleys. In order to rectify the root cause of our problem, World Class Tile completely rebuilt the floor to proper subfloor thickness and utilized the thin wire mesh-cement approach to deal with the challenges of slants and pre-existing low heights of non-removeable door jams. Amazing work on cut outs around existing cabinets and under appliances by Al's. employee Robbie. We now have a solid floor that should last decades without cracks or chips. Excellent creative work by knowledgeable, professional, and personable tile experts at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I filled out the Home Advisor form online and very shortly I was contacted. Alon gave me a good estimate for the grouting. However, When Alon looked at the tile and removed one, it was obvious that the job was much more involved than a simple grout: there was substantial mold even into the insulation. He also found mold beneath the tile flooring in master bath and second bath. So, the repair became a much larger replace project. He did an excellent job, and made suggestions to guide the process, which were great ideas. He is very customer service oriented and took time to show the damage and then the various progress phases of the rebuild; He also was very considerate to set goals and communicate timeframes; and answer all questions that I had. The tile work on walls and floor is beautiful and perfect. I had not planned on a full project, but am glad that I had such a patient and qualified individual to get me past the shock to very lovely bathrooms indeed. Since I had not planned on a project, I had not searched out estimates. When it was clear that the situation was kind of DIRE because I have mold allergy and not much time or energy to search multiple estimates, I decided to discuss the situation with Alon. I did like his direct manner, and was reassured with further discussions that he could take care of the mess. Much later, I mentioned the work to some friends and am assured that I certainly got a fair price, probably better, and superb quality and attention to detail.
