He came in the first day and started the job. He spent an hour hour half then said he had to leave to do something with his passport. He came back and got sick on me. He spent 20 minutes in my bathroom and 15 minutes on the floor upstairs in the hall. I hired him to install an attic ladder He comes back the next day to complete the job. After everything was said, and done. He cut the ladder to short but I paid him because he was pushing me to pay him and he had a nerve to ask me for a tip because he said he was running around to get materials . Now I have a ladder that is short and I have to repair it. Also I have to get somebody else to do that jobI’m a senior citizen on a fixed income and I can’t afford to pay for the same jobs that people mess up. And to add insult to injury as he was packing up his things he cussed me out call me a dick and stated that’s why he effed up the job because I wouldn’t pay him a tip. At this point right now I can’t see myself using your service again anymore. That left a bad taste in my mouth and I still have to find somebody to do this.

Val just needs to finish. I have the fabric. My balance due is $150.
Response from Designing Xpressions LLC
"Mrs. [Member Name Removed] was rigid and unwilling to pay for the additional materials and additional labor charge to complete this job. I went above and beyond to create and put together despite the fact she did not allow me to preview the project before getting a quote. Not at any time did I deviate from my initial quote even though the job was more difficult than expected. In addition to the fact the client insisted on using a different fabric than what was originally used making the installation process greatly different than the original process. This fabric was a special order that I personally went to Fabric Row on South Street in Philadelphia (got a parking ticket that I paid for not the client) when she could have had delivered to her home or went herself to purchase. Going to different fabric distributors to find the most cost effective rate to achieve her goal. When the final product was installed I informed the client I recommend adding trim at the bottom and between the seams of panels and there would be an additional cost for materials and labor. She refused to take my advice and refused to pay initial final payment of $150 in addition not paying me in the manner I requested in the beginning No Personal Checks. And to boot she refused to reimburse me for ticket and travel expenses. So I have no desire to perform any work for her or anyone that knows her in any way."

Our full view storm door needed the door handles replaced. We were unable to lock it. We put in a request thru Angi and Delmar Yellock of Designing Xpressions was the first contractor to respond. After discussion, he agreed to stop by the very next day. Upon arrival and after examining the door he found I had purchased the wrong parts. He fully explained what needed to be done and why it needed to be done. He visited a local store and purchased the correct parts. Despite spending twice as much time doing the repair he stuck with the original price quoted. I learned Del is actually a general contractor and does remodels and virtually any job inside the house. We will definitely be calling him back for future work. One last point: Del's price (including parts) was one sixth of prices quoted by others. This experiece almost makes me want to see something else need fixing! Great honest contractor!!!

Del of Design Xpressions impressed me with his response time, sticking to the agreed schedule, and making a great repair on a full view storm door others had said needed to be replaced. He saved us hundreds of dollars and did an extremely professional repair (air pump, door handle, and locking mechanism). Great job done!
