Good people working hard to get the project done

This father/son team is cheap but not graceful. We have uneven patches all along the yard where they dug up the sprinkler system to replace the pneumatic solenoids with electric ones. They did bury the wires in the front yard, but in the backyard, they ran the cable right along the front of the flower bed where it is totally visible. They just ran the cable right over the top of the rocks and down the front of the retaining wall instead of going down the fence line where it would have been less visible. It also runs over the top of many above-ground drip lines instead of burying the cable down out of sight. There is one particularly hideous wire splice that I found sitting on top of one flower bed that is just a wad of wires and wire nuts that will be getting water dousing it every time the system runs. Many parts of the grass were killed by the digging, which is to be expected, but the dirt was replaced with no attempt to level out the ground, so there are many depressions around the yard now and high points that get scalped when the lawnmower goes over that spot. At one point they got frustrated looking for the last solenoid and tried to get my mom to sign off on the job without finishing, with a $100 off, but I forced them to find the last switch and finish the job. I have contacted them about the poor cable management and was told they would try to stop by last week, but have not heard from them since. Their estimate was to do it in 2 days and that dragged out past 2 weeks. The sprinkler system is functional, but their work has left scars all over the place instead of doing a quality job with everything looking integrated with attention to the details. They may be responsive at first, but if there is anything that makes the job at all tricky, then they seem to lose interest in finishing and you end up on the back burner.

Great family group. They went right to work and fixed all of my problems and checked to make sure it was all working. Unlike the prior company I used they did not try to up sale me on things I did not need. I would definitely use them again, and would recommend them.

He came out an gave me a price, $300 to redirect a sprinkler water line an replace some sprinkler heads ( which I bought). Was not a hard job, less than hour. He did not run into any problems. Than he charges me $355 for the job. I was shocked an asked why so much more an he grumbled some excuse for the increase. I was not going to pay invoice but did so anyway. I called them to file a complaint. They stated to rate this guy an leave a comment. I will not hire this guy again, just for the fact of increase in price. He never knocked on my door to explain. This is not my first experience with bad contractors.
