I hate to write negative reviews, but this one absolutely has to be out there as a warning to other potential Ybarra customers. I can not even begin to describe how awful it has been to work with them. I contracted in January 2023 for a shower remodel â just the shower to replace old dated tile with new tile & glass doors. There was no change in the shower shape, size or layout, so I figured this was a simple job. It came with a very high price tag, but I hoped I would get what I paid for. What I got instead was months and months of delays, atrociously bad work, poor rework, neglect, terrible communication, and absent supervision. Ybarra sent out a string of contractors, few of them speaking English, with little supervision and minimal inspections. The work started late and slowly, but was going okay until a tiler installed fourteen 12x12 tiles with chips in them. Yes, installed them, with visible chips. This was in addition to tiles with significant lippage, and uneven grout lines. This mess was not spotted until after the shower doors were fitted, so then everything had to be taken out and redone. Unfortunately, despite my urgings, Ybarra chose not to gut the work and start over, but instead attempted to patch the job by just replacing the broken tiles. The result was grout being put over grout, which pushed the tiles out almost, from being flush with the wall and then the shower doors no longer fit, and had to be reordered. During all of this, I had to constantly check work, call and text, and eventually threaten legal action to get Ybarra to even respond. Every single step of the way. They never showed up when promised, arrived late, announced arrival times last minute as if I had no other life or schedule, and kept sending unknown workers with poor English skills to work alone and unsupervised. The final job is mediocre, at best. Not only are tiles not flush with the walls, but the grout lines are still too wide, the grout is horribly messy in corners, tiles are not lined up perfectly, and I know for a fact that there are hollow gaps under tiles (because I could see them before they finished off the edges). And this mediocre job cost ast $15K and has taken close to 5 months. Avoid Ybarra like the plague.
