Carpentry Framing Repair
The work was done quickly. I was happy with the results at the time I needed it done.

This company wasn't supposed to complete a project for me within two weeks. I paid them the deposit on 01/11/2019 and as of 1/29/2019, the only thing they have done is put holes in the wall. These guys are terrible and extreme lairs, stay away
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"I was the fourth contractor on this job, because Jackson fired every single one of them. The holes were already in the walls when I took this job, and those holes are what I was paid to repair. I repaired the holes, did other jobs for him, which included installation of the front door, which I haven't been paid for to this very day. I couldn't reenter the property to recover tools or to take pictures to prove that I did all the repair work plus some. How I know about the other contractors is they showed up to retrieve their tools that they couldn't get prior to me being there, and Jackson told me about them himself. I had the homeowner's interest at heart and didn't allow the other contractors in. Now, I regret not letting them have their tools, because I'm one of Jackson's casualties. I DID complete this job. And when I showed up to retrieve my belongings the very next day, someone had already moved in. This man is a con man."

Don?t you hate it when someone comes to your house and suddenly see a ?Goldmine? creating a feel that the issue at hand is way larger than it is really is? Well, that was how I saw ?The Handyman Guy?s work. He has contacted me and set up a time to come and see what the issue was. My tripped breaker (due to a shortage) suddenly became a big job. ?We will have to cut the dry wall? ?It?s really complicated? ?it?s going to be a big Job? stating these statements while huffing and puffing about everything that might be wrong with our wiring (that been done years ago and up to the last heavy rain we had worked perfectly. I was uncomfortable with his statement and told him that I will have think about and asked a stupid question (as nothing was fixed ) ?How much do I owe you ?? $160 Instead of saying Nothing as I didn?t fix anything spending about 30 minutes at my home. I wrote a check and said goodbye I had another electrician here the other day. He worked carefully eliminating steps to actually find the problem - he did. He scheduled another day to fix (during daylight so it will be easier to work) didn?t want me to pay anything until he actually fix the bad wire. I have learned two lessons. The first one - ?Don?t ask stupid questions? The second one is to make sure you work with real recommended professionals
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"The huffing and puffing was while I was in Shy's small, extremely hot attic. Shy stood on the ladder while I showed him the devastation mice had rendered to his household wiring. There were trails and droppings everywhere. I removed the insulation to find this. So the next repairman only had to do the repair and then, hopefully replace the insulation. $160.00 is my service call."

Called this handyman, said he would install my new hot water tank and take the old one out of my basement. Done good work when you could get him there. I paid him just after he started the job, but he would say he had to leave for a hour and not come back. Called him two or three times, he would come back out work for a half hour and take off again. After one or two days called him again, but never came back out to finish the job. Had to hire a new handyman to finish the job and remove the old water tank. Would NOT recommend this handyman.
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"This gentleman ordered his hot water heater online and it was never there every time I showed up to install it. This gentleman wanted me to do other jobs for him, but I would not commit to anything until I had installed his hot water heater. FedEx and UPS would not deliver because of the weight and distance. This gentleman's address is even out of my zip code area for HomeAdvisor. I charged him $100.00 for 4 (four) trips and the actual installation. I did not remove the original hot water heater. And I was not paid to remove the heater."

I wrote a previous review and gave him too much credit. The work he did the first visit was good, but his time management (which means my time management) leaves much to be desired. The first visit was a drill just getting him here. He was supposed to come back the second day to fix a problem as a result of the first visit. It took multiple phone calls and his promises of when to get here. Finally, he got here two days later--and that was 2.5 hours late. And always it was me calling me for an update as to when he would get here. In this day and age of cell phones, there is no excuse for that. Just plain rude.

DON'T HIRE DAVE! He didn't show up when he said he would. I hired him because I needed jobs done in a hurry for an appraisal of my home. He said my jobs would take one day and i waited over a week. I realized he was working on another job in the area, but if he had just committed himself over a couple of days, he probably could have gotten it done. One day he showed up and had forgotten the tools he needed for my jobs!! He laid carpet without transitions strips, and I counted at least 5 places on my walls that were GOUGED OUT where he was not careful with his tools or toolbox! I even witnessed him bang his toolbox against my wall and he didn't bother to say ANYTHING. No sorry. No nothing!! One job was to repair and repaint my garage door. His repair didn't even completely cover up what needed to be repaired. And the BEST part? He didn't even sand off the peeling paint on my garage door before he painted it! What "pro" wouldn't sand a garage door before painting it?! COMPLETELY overcharged me AND costed me money because now I have to repair the damage HE did and I am going to have to somehow touch up my garage door! Dave, you owe me some money back!! DO NOT HIRE DAVE! SERIOUSLY! UPDATED: Dave, so you dispute the fact that you rammed your big A toolbox into my wall? I saw you do it, Dave. You never quoted me $1300. You asked me how much I had to work with. After you priced carpeting, you told me that you would need to have $900 and I agreed to that. Yes, my house is rough and we need to attend to it, but I also know where the existing scrapes were. You said nothing about strips to me for the carpeting. And if my garage door can't hold paint, then how was it painted to begin with? It was peeling! Yes, I did pass the appraisal, thank you. I'm sorry you had to divide your time between your job and the hospital to see your daughter and grand daughter. I know this made you tired for sure. I hope they are ok.
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"Our schedules did not match, that is why it took over a week. I do not carry a tool box, never have. I laid her padding and carpet without carpet strip between rooms, because I was told she couldn't afford it, so I neatly tucked it for her. I left no gouges in her walls, but this home is not in the best shape. As far as the garage door is concerned, it's in such bad condition that it is mostly styrofoam insulation with holes in the bottom panel that she used to run extension cords through. I was told to screw a board along the bottom to cover the holes and to paint what I could. Paint will not adhere to styrofoam insulation. I truly did the best I could. The original estimate was $1300.00 and I did the job for $900.00 Her husband inspected everything, shook my hand, paid me, and said I did a good job. I'm assuming the loan fell through because of the condition of this house and she is projecting her disappointment onto me."

This handyman is extremely professional. He showed up on time and was very knowledgeable of the situation. Not only did he find the problem immediately he fixed it and even though we had agreed to additional work he did not try to inflate the cost by doing that additional work which resulted in cost savings. I would definitely hire again for other projects.

had misunderstanding what I wanted done and he did it his way. I might use service again.
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"This is difficult to comment on. I spoke with her son, and he explained the situation to me. His mother isn't in the best of health and yes, there was a misunderstanding."

Not on time on Friday asked all jobs done in one day he took down tower in 90 degree heat hurt him self. said would be back on Monday called after noon did not come that day. Showed up on Tuesday said light took plug in lightbulb when later I read the box and it took screw in.in. took me to lowes bought different lights hung one said needed nuts for the other instruction did not show that did not bring saw to trim doorl said would be back next day called late could not do that day too hot to seal driveway was 84 would come next day in the AM when will be In the 90s I think he got a job for more money and just strung me along. I only hired because I thought would do all in one day. not happy sad experience for me and costly now hiring someone else I found so he said he would be in today in the morning, I called him at 10:00 and he said will try to make it today and I fired him. Would no recommend him to any one.. Now not sure Home Advisor is the way to go?????
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"This is just a job that I never got paid for. I can't understand the majority of this comment. This job was impossible to do in one day and I'm upfront immediately, letting customers know that they are not the only customer. And I wasn't hired to seal a driveway. I was hired to take down an antenna tower and hang lights. Her comments on the lights don't make sense. I'm sorry this customer wasn't happy, but again...she never paid me for one bit of the work."

I hired Dave Marsh who was recommended by you and I am still waiting for him to finish the job. He cut down half a bush and left it looking awful and he knew I was putting my house up for sale and needed a nice look. He overcharged me and left before finishing the trimming.
Response from Your Handyman Guy
"This customer stood next to me and told me exactly what to remove from her tree. Two weeks later, I get a phone call wanting me to come out and trim more. I was paid for the job that she approved completion herself. I couldn't go back to do her a favor. I have other customers."

he was on time--professional, friendly, very knowledgeable, worked everything according to code--and my total price came to $50 BELOW estimate---I will be hiring DK Electrical to do all the finishing work on my kitchen when I get to that point.
