I am skeptical of ever hiring a contractor again, now.

Do NOT hire this company. The scope of the project changed after we paid 1/2 down (55k out of the original ~110k for the project). They were not able to do what was quoted, changed the scope of the project because they could not secure permits to tier out our hill, had to be called out multiple times to fix the horrible craftsmanship of our deck, did not refund us a dime for a roof structure over our hot tub they quoted and did not build, did not wire our hot tubs electrical (it was supposed to be included with the roof structure) and then ghosted us completely without finishing what they started. I am still missing end caps and skirts to my rail system on my deck and side patio. They have blocked my number and blocked me on their social media pages. If I could give negative stars to this company, I would. And to rub salt in the wound, they had the nerve to post pictures of my project on their Facebook page without even finishing it. We are seeking legal action against them.

They were very courteous, knowledgable, and professional, over the past few weeks, they have not called or texted back numerous texts, and the job is halfway done. this protect started a year ago.

I will not recommend this company to anyone for any project and the lack of experience was poor, they do not respond to emails or phone calls.

They were pleasant and very easy to have around. The work was impeccable. They always showed up on time. There was no pressure to choose them. The friendly staff made it very easy to decide to use them for my project. I always felt comfortable if I had a need to leave without locking them out. So very pleased I plan on having them do another project next spring. The cost was extremely reasonable and fair. They always cleaned up after themselves before they left. So pleased!!!! Anyone thinking of their services will be happy with their decision.

Day One went the extra mile on our deck and new siding project. Very hard workers, knowledgeable in their field of work, and ensured our peace of mind each step of the way. 2 thumbs up thanks again guys.

Zak the owner of Day One came off very polite and professional upon meeting with him. He told us that we would need to put down half of the money for the project, we paid him $5800. Less than two weeks later we got an offer on our house and the buyer said they would take the house as is and would rebuild the porch themselves. I called Zak and explained the situation and that we would no longer need to have the porch rebuilt and could we get our deposit back, I expected for him to keep a small percentage of it. He informed me that we could NOT get our money back, that they bought the supplies already. He said that he would send an email saying we would cancel the project and go our separate ways. After hanging up with him, I was furious that we lost $5800 that we worked hard for and the only thing he did was meet with us order supplies and whatever else he did, but I know it wasn?t $5800 worth. So I texted him and said what I was thinking about the lost of our money. I also said if he spent the money on the supplies then we would like the supplies and an invoice for them. Plus I asked him to email the contract to my husband, which he has not done as of yet. He texted me back saying we were not getting the supplies and that he was trying to be ?nice? by just sending me an email saying that we go our separate ways. He also said he could sue us for the remaining money for the project that he would not have to do. This man is nothing more than a thief and I would never recommend him and Day One Construction to anyone! I don?t know how people like Zak can sleep at night knowing he ripped off hard working people like us. If I could give him negative stars I would.

They did excellent work. The price was fair. They kept in touch the entire time and told me to call anytime if I had questions or concerns. I am even getting quotes from them for other work.

These guys are the best! Super fast and responsive service from start to finish. They made our dream deck come true and went above and beyond our expectations. They gave us a straight forward price that was even better then almost every other bid we received. I highly recommended Day One Construction to anyone that wants a professional contractor who delivers what they promise. We will definitely use them again for any projects in the future.
