Reviews
Write a ReviewThis company was terrible and took my money. They were supposed to come on December 23 after waiting all day they called and said they were coming until tomorrow. They came on December 24 when the plumber came in I informed him that I had already snaked it and that probably was not going to work they insisted on sneaking it anyway, after the plumber left and we paid $287.00, we proceeded to flush the toilet and once again, it was still stopped up. I called no one was able to come out until the 26th which is understandable since it was Christmas that following day. another plumber came out and informed me that the person that came was not really a plumber but just a person that unclog the toilet. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed a new toilet and then quoted me a price of $1300 to install a new toilet. I did inquire about a refund since the job was not completed effectively. I was told they could possibly install the toilet at a small discount. Went to Home Depot purchase a toilet for $200 and $250 for installation. I would not ever recommend this company to anyone I lost out on a lot of money with no result. I am very disappointing. Please donâ t use this company.
Great overall experience. Did a very professional job. The estimate they provided at the start is exactly what I paid. Would definitely recommend.
Thank you for your review!
Job Done!
Thank you! We are happy to help!
The job took far longer than expected but they did offer some restitution for the inconvenience.
Thank you, Todd, for your review! We are sorry that the job took longer than expected but we are always willing to make up for any inconveniences on our end! Thank you for choosing Zoom Drain.
Zoom was absolutely amazing to work with. Total pros and I will be using them for everything in the future. These poor guys were faced with quite the difficult job in our small Dundalk yard work area. They were able to overcome the challenge and left the yard beautiful. Even fixed some things on my neighbors side that was above and beyond. The crew was friendly and extremely professional. Love these guys and will be recommending. Keep up the great work!
So glad we could help! Thank you, Jason! :)
They arrived quickly and assessed the situation. I felt their price was fair and they cleaned up after themselves
Thank you, Andrew!
Great Job , the technician saved the day
Glad we could come to the rescue!!
TT James || project was completed by Zoom Drain || rated 5 stars and will recommend to friends and colleague
Thanks, James! We appreciate your business.
I have been a home owner for over 20 years and this is the first time I have actually felt straight up ripped off by a contractor, and potentially subject to a con job. Issue One: When I spoke with a Zoom representative on the phone when requesting service, I was given a ball park estimate for the clearing of my sewer line of $300-$500. When the technician arrived, I was told that sewer line cleaning was a flat fee of $419, in his words, for you, your neighbors, anyone else. So, right off the bat I was misled on the phone, but your operator arrived promptly and I was ready to start using my water again so I went ahead with the job. Had this been the only issue, I would not have mentioned the pricing at all. After the servicemen had been working for about 20 minutes I went to check and see how it was going. They were in my backyard using some sort of device to detect something in the yard. I was told they would hit some sort of blockage in the line that they were trying to locate. It seemed they would found it several feet into my yard. They went on to tell me that they would never hit a blockage that was so strong. It nearly broke the hand of the cable operator and was likely a sewer line collapse. They would not run the cable back through for fear that it would break their expensive equipment. They ran the camera back through the line to show me what they claimed was evidence of my sewer line breaking up. The break was so bad I was told, that it had even damaged the camera I was then told that the break/blockage was well within my property, so the city would not take care of it, but they would not work on it anymore either. I was advised that I still should not use much water, I still had to pay the $419.00, and they only solution was to again hire Zoom to tear out and replace the whole sewer line. I was then provided with a job proposal/cost estimate for doing that. Do not worry about the $419, I was told because that will go towards the nearly $9,000.00 job we are telling you that you need to hire us for. After the technicians left, I ran some water, and as I was told, the sewage backed right up into my basement and utility tub. I was $400 poorer, but not an inch better as far as the restoration of my sewer line. So, I spent the next day in my yard locating and digging out my sewer line cleanout. I contacted the city, they came and ran a cable through, took care of a blockage with ease, and also checked it with a camera, Now everything is flowing fine no collapse of line, no arm breaking blockage, no refusal on their part to do work that took place within my property. I have done work as a home improvement contractor and I know what it is like to deal with clients who do not understand the work, want work that goes beyond what you have agreed to, or flat out do not want to pay. This is the reason I paid promptly when your crew called it done. As it looks to me now though, at best I paid for work that was not completed; at worst, the work was not completed to help create the nightmare scenario that was painted to convince me to hire Zoom again for a nearly $9000.00 job. Zoom contested my original rating on Home Advisor and contacted me after my initial poor review suggesting they wanted to make things right with me. I have since provided Home Advisor with proof of payment, the record of Baltimore city coming to clean out the sewer main and the blockage Zoom would not get through. The review has met Home Advisors standards for staying posted, and I have never heard back from Zoom.
We do not give prices over the phone.
They got it done - at least we hope - it seems to be running well but time will tell. We are very hopeful!
Thank you, Molly! We are so happy we could help. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
