The experience was more than perfect. We had called several local companies and none of them would do the work that we needed for under 11,000 dollars. I explained the issue that we were having to a friend of mine <br /> and he mentioned that he recently had some work done by a company out of Kentucky so I checked them out.  I went to A-1 Roofing's web-site and filled out the "Free Estimate" form.  The very next day I got a call from the owner himself. He spent over two hours talking on the phone with us an exchanging emails with pictures of the damage. Even after the trip fee, Bill quoted us a price several thousand dollars less than the competition. I have to admit, at first I was a little skeptical because of <br /> the distance involved but after speaking with the owner on the phone I was very confident and happy with his proposal so we scheduled the job for two weeks out. Bill said he was due for a vacation anyway, so coming out to Florida to do a job for us wouldn't be a problem. <br /> On the day the jobwas to begin, he and his crew showed up on time as if their office was right down the street! They hadn't even started the job yet and I was already blown away! He explained that even though we sent a lot of pictures to him that it <br /> would be difficult to nail down an exact price until he had a chance to physically inspect the damage. This was understandable but after a brief investigation he came to the determination that the original quote would be valid. Work began the next day. He and his men worked at an impressive pace. There was always something being done. Any time we went to check on them they were all hard at work. Bill took the time to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it even when we didn?t <br /> ask. When we DID ask him questions he always had an answer and was very detailed in his explanation. This guy is a true expert in his field! <br /> I'm sure they took breaks at some point but I didn't see any! 6 days into the job they had the original roof completely removed. By the end of the estimated two week period the new roof had been constructed and a day before it was supposed to be done they were putting in the finishing nails. Even though the job was finished and we were totally satisfied he and his crew used the last day to give us a tour of the work that they did and to clean up any remaining mess that was caused by <br /> the construction. My house looks great now and there are no more leaks! We are extremely happy with the end result and will definitely use Bill's company in the future and recommend them to all of our friends. <br /> <br /> <br />

It went great.  I would recommend them to anyone.

<p>The crew did a great job, even pressure washed the sidewalk and cleaned up well.  Left no nails or cigarette stubs on the grounds (which was a big problem with other contractors).</p> <p>Would definitely recommend.</p> <p><br /></p> <br />

I contacted 5 different companies. This is the only one that called me back. I got an estimate and they showed up and completed the job in one day. They left no mess and it looks great.

It worked out alright. It wasn't bad. They didn't charge me more than the big deal price. They did what they said they were going to do. They said that my roof was in good condition. Their responsiveness was pretty good. I would probably use them in the future.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it didn't turn out very good. They went out on the loose and tried to fix things, but one of the problems that I had pointed out of a leak in my roof was still leaking when they left.

I purchased a big deal from Angie's List and their services turned out absolutely perfectly great across the board. On the description it said that once you have purchased it somebody from that company would contact you, the customer, to arrange the time and date and we waited for about 10 days and no body called us. So, then we decided to go ahead and take the initiative and call them to figure out when they would be able to do it, but once we did that they got on it right away. They were very punctual. They did everything we could have asked. The only thing is if the description is not accurate, then I would recommend that it be corrected, if they were supposed to contact us that is the only thing that they did not do. As far as value he took care of it and gave us peace of mind, so I would definitely got back to that. His punctuality was perfect; he showed up before the time that he said he was going to be here.

I was very impressed with them & will definitely use them in the future if any problems arise. <br />

They were on time and they did very good work. They were responsive and professional. They gave information to us on the condition of the entire roof for a Big Deal.

Showed up on time,did a general inspection of the roof and resealed vents and tightened loose underlayment. Roof is showing age and gave a reasonable estimate to re roof. <br /> <br />

Resealed Flashing and identified other items that need repair.  More work to be don in the future. <br />

It went very well with A-1 Roofing & Home Improvement. They came a little later in the day that they said. He was very professional. He gave me a quote on the price of my roof which is the next step. I wanted to get it patched and hopefully it was going to last me until next year because I'm trying to save the money for the roof.

they had to come twice, but it is fixed right now.  Bill Thompson is an expert roofer, and a good person. <br />

I though they will come and fix and feel any damages or anything on the roof. 

I got a big deal from Angie's List.  The guy who came out got up on the roof with his assistant and they took pictures.  They told that there was a problem on the roof and they were going to clean out my gutters.  They were going to charge me $400 to put a rain gutter protector on the roof.  I never heard back from them.  They were supposed to clean out the rain gutters, but I never knew they did that or not.  They never told me about it.  I hired them because of the big deal.  It was hard to get them to come out, so I had to call to get the correct number.  I am glad that I didn't have to pay them $400 and glad that they didn't come back.  They acted very professional.  I was very impressed with their technical ability.  The price for the inspection was great.

Billy responded to a quote request and was able to be there the next day. It was the best deal of four companies and he was helpful in deciding what materials to choose for cost and efficiency.

I wasn't really happy with them. I don't know a lot about roofing but it didn't quite look right for me. It held up for at least a few years but it had actually started leaking. Even though they gave me a lower price because I didn't have the bottom part looks of it redone, what I realized is that they didn't quite repair the area that goes into the house. I would have thought it would have lasted longer. And, they lifted the part that fell onto what was still under the bottom on top of it instead of getting rid of all of the old so I wasn't really happy with that.

Bill came by and thoroughly looked at the work to be done and gave us an estimate. <br /> After the estimate, we set a day for the work to be done and the entire job was completed in 1 single day. <br />

<br /> During my home inspection, the inspector suggested I have a qualified roofer perform a closer examination of the roof.  Bill Thompson had replaced the roof on my brother and sister's homes, therefore I called Mr. Thompson to see if he could meet me at the home I was wanting to buy.  I needed to respond to the Sellers that day with all items that needed repaired so I was very glad he could meet me at the house that afternoon.  Based on his inspection, I added his recommendations to my response to the Sellers. <br /> After closing on the house, within a few days and a hard rain, a stain showed up on the ceiling.  I called Bill Thompson and within a day he was removing the roof, replacing some damaged boards and putting on the new roof and chimney cap  We also added gutter guards to the gutters and they look great.  Bill's team placed tarps around the house to catch any debris and nails when they were removing the old shingles and this also protected my landscaping.  <br /> Bill Thompson provided great guidance on the roof, his workers were on time, very professional and did a great job! <br />
