Unfortunately I cannot recommend AZ Plumbing. They charged me almost $800 for 20min of labor and $80 hardware. The technician had to go to the hardware store twice (first didn’t have our valves in his truck and second, lost a screw in the wall…) and assembled the valves upside down, so it took the whole morning. “Flat rate” they call it, unjustifiable profits! Very greedy.

Called in the morning to request a quote to repair a fast leak (and spray) at the main water shut off valve. Did not get a quote but instead got a time when they could show up. They did show up at the appointed time later in the afternoon. The water valve is no longer leaking. And while it appears the leak has stopped, the lack of transparency in the costs is what I am reviewing and complaining about. This was a $325.00 repair and I still do not know why. I did not get a detailed receipt of what did they do or how much the “parts” cost. I have no evidence that, in fact, any parts were replaced. For all I know, this was just opening the valve, removing and replacing the packing gland (not a $325.00 job!!!). There is a “used car salesman” quality to the transaction that has soured my view of this business. Lesson learned (and re-learned): with any plumber, insist on a quote before letting them in. If they don’t provide one, move on to the next…or the next…Good luck!

"Our policy at A-Z Plumbing is to give customers a free in-home estimate before we do any work. Plumbers are the qualified personnel at our company to give estimates, not office assistants, and therefore we do not give over-the-phone pricing. Someone else called requesting service for this location and stated that the main shut off was leaking. However, after surveying the job, we gave the customer an estimate to remove and replace a pressure reducing valve, pressure test the line and set the pressure to 65 psi to accommodate the home. I'm not sure who Ms. [Member Name Removed] is as her name does not appear on the invoice, and she is not the person who requested service, however, the work we performed was priced at regular industry standards. As far as the "used car salesman" approach that you felt you received from our company, I would like to point out that since you called in for a different service entirely, it would have been extremely easy for said "salesman" to trick you into a doing a repair that you didn't even need. While I'm sorry you felt taken advantage of, even though the price was given before starting work, and the invoice was signed to the complete satisfaction of the customer, the issue of transparency perhaps lies in the question of who the actual customer is/was in this scenario. We appreciate your review of our company but would have preferred a phone call to perhaps discuss the concerns at hand, which apparently, at the time of service, were not an issue."

50 % upcharge, over charged and didn't solve the problem. Another plumber came and said they are known for ripping people off . Also charged me twice for a service and you have to call for a receipt and wait over a week .

"[Member Name Removed] Woods-Clemens is a landlord with multiple properties that has hired us on several occassions to complete plumbing projects for her. Each time, as is our policy, we have given her a free estimate before starting any of the work and each time, after we have begun or even when we have completed the project she complains that we charged her too much. We are competitively priced and we do great plumbing work. The job Ms. Woods Clemens is referring to was labor intensive, took nearly an entire day (she even stated to me that she didn't realize it would take the plumber so long to complete) and was done skillfully and professionally, all with her approval and satisfaction. She even complimented us on the fact that we are always available on Sundays since she has a demanding work schedule and we always fit her in when she calls. I agree that it shouldn't take a week or more to get a copy of the invoice but also realize that when you are not at the property when we are at the job, there can be delays receiving paperwork. If she didn't think the price was a good one, she should have stated so before we started. Finally, the "problem" that she still has is not a result of our plumbing work but for a different property that we did not service."

My 2 downspout to the gutters were clogged. Stated that they would snake out footer/storm drains to both downspouts for 410.00. They were able to clear the back storm drain but they were not able to clear front one but charged me for both. Told them it did not make sense to charge me for clearing both drains when only one drain was cleared. The one guy stated "Well, you are being charged for the labor and the actual snaking not for the clearing." What?! No matter what the reason is for being unable to fix the problem, if the problem hasn't been fixed you should not be expected to pay for it. I will Never use these guys again.

I have used A-Z. I think they were here in February of this year. They took and did something else and replaced some pipes I had. Then they had to replace some item on the pipes to release the gas so I ended up paying $1400 and I decided I would never call them again. You know it just kept going, you know where the pipe are all crooked so I told them to replace that. They did a good job but I was expected to pay $65 for them to put insulation on the pipe and it was my own insulation. I had good service from them in the past, you know, but I decided I'm not going to use them anymore.

A simple snake would have cleared the drain, they sold me a part that I later found out was not necessary. They refused to refund me unless I would pay for another service call. The next plumber who came out said, "you got ripped off, ma'am." <br />

<strong>well it went terrible. we called the A-Z plumbing co and explained when we use our shower out toilets bubble. they sent an inexperienced person to give us an estimate. first he said he had to remove one of the toilets in order to snake our main line he removed the first toilet then he said well i have to remove the second toilet to have a better access and that would be an extra cost he did that too. then he said well i cannot clear your main line and i have to break into your wall in order to have access to your main line. i asked if by tearing the wall the problem would be taken care of? he said was not sure. i asked if he would repair the wall he said did not repair walls that i had to get a contractor do repair the wall. by now he was in my house for more than 4 hours then i realized he did not know what he was doing. i reluctantly paid him $330 and he left.</strong> <br />

He was a skilled professional with much knowledge. Clogged drain was cleared and I now have a comfort that my old pipes are still in good condition. My house was built in 1926 so old pipes are a concern.

They provide excellent service. It went very well. The initial estimate was over $2000. It took them almost the complete day, they have to do a lot of investigating. They were supposed to cut the driveway then put a new drain in but after doing some research they used a camera and sneaked two of the down spouts then everything cleared out. They spent close to a day here.

It went okay. They got our drain cleared out but we would not use them again. After they left, we found money in our drain that we cannot get out. There are 2 nickels stuck in there. They didn't really clean up thoroughly after themselves. If they would have put down a drop cloth, the splatters wouldn't have gotten everywhere.

They called before they actually came and gave me the exact time of arrival. They were courteous and professional. They explained the work that had to be done and gave you the price. Upon completion the price quoted always stays the same. They explained the proper operation of the garbage disposal, also. I had an emergency plumbing situation, in 08/2014. I had been waiting for another plumbing company for four days to repair.the problem. Frustrated, I called A-Z. They came and fixed the problem the same day. <br /> They are a great company. <br />

The technician attempted to snake the drain for an hour with no success. He then informed us that to have a functioning pipe we would need to replace it. To replace the pipe they would need to cut a hole into our kitchen ceiling to gain access to it. The estimate for all of this work was well over 1,000 dollars. After we paid for the failed snaking and he wrote an estimate for the "required" work we called another plumber who snaked the drain successfully in less than an hour and for a lower price than we paid to A-Z. <br /> <br />

<p>Called A to Z Plumbing on Tuesday 8/5/14, I spoke with a woman that Identified herself as Charity. She scheduled an appointment for Thursday 8/7/14, between 12:00p.m. and 2:00p.m. I was told that there would be a $95.00 troubleshooting fee, which would be absorbed into the bill if I decided to have the work done. I told her that I also had a $55.00 coupon. </p> <p>On 8/7/2014 at 2:00p.m. no one had shown up, so I called them and got Charity. Charity informed me that she was just about to call me, and the someone would be at my house between 2:00p.m. and 4:00p.m.</p> <p>At approximately 3:30p.m. Mike showed up. Mike informed me that there was a $125 troubleshooting charge. I reminded him that Charity had told me that the troubleshooting charge was only $95.00. Mike responded agitated, "who is Charity, I never heard of a Charity". so I got on the phone and called Charity. After informing Charity of what Mike was saying, they both flip flopped. Charity told me that she meant "from" $95.00 to $125.00. so we finally agreed on $95.00. As I'm disable, I had my son take Mike upstairs and show him where we believed the problem was coming from. After his inspection, Mike informed me that the work would be approximately $425.00. Although I felt it was a bit much I figured, I needed the work done, and they would knock off the $95.00 for the troubleshooting and/ or the $55.00 for the coupon. I have no complaints about the quality of work. However, upon settling up, I discovered that I received no discount at all and was grossly overcharged. It's obvious that A to Z Plumbing is in desperate times to have to overcharge their customers. I only pray that things turn around so that they no longer have to take advantage of people. </p> <br />
