Normally replacing the rubber ring around the Filter will correct the issue. But Mark pointed out that I had divots and gaps in the bottom of the filter plastic, that might be causing the consistent leak. After taking the filter apart, over and over again, he was finally able to get it so that the filter was no longer leaking consistently. His patience and time are much appreciated. He also gave me a recommendation to replace the old filter and he would provide me the estimate of what that will cost. Overall, did a good job of helping get the leak stopped, so that I could run the pump. Would recommend again. <br />

We received their information from Angie's List. Called A-Affordable and scheduled an appointment the following week. Received fast response and great service from them. So far with 4 weekly visits, we are very satisfied. <br />

During 2 calls totaling 3.5 hours of work they cleaned the pool which was FULL of leaves. They also solved 3 other problems and included parts. The problems were 1) Polaris booster pump not working - they replaced a capacitor. 2) the large o-ring seal in the lid of the main pump had gone flat and was causing the pump to draw air - new o-ring. 3) The main pump was leaking between the pump and the motor causing the loss of water - replaced gasket, seal and o-ring. These are all problems that have plagued our pool for months and they quickly found and resolved the problems. In my opinion these folks know what they are doing.

Filter Maintenance and reapirs to pump were done well, the part was on their van, so the repair was done very quickly. The serviceman was very courteous, and was very thorough despite adverse weather. Very happy!

I got several estimates and kept a running list of comparisons of costs and products. Using Angie's List, I think I compared 3 very good companies. AAffordable Pool and Spa came in less costly using the same products. John spent a lot of time discussing the process and brought samples to my house so I wouldn't have to go out to the store. The coping I initially picked could not be cut to fit my pool, but the second choice turned out to be lovely and the guys did an amazing job laying it. The tile I finally chose was a little hard to find, but John was unfazed and we got it before we expected. Of course this process took 3 weeks to complete, but the guys were neat enough and cleaned up after every workday. Brushing the plaster everyday for 10 days was included in the price! Plus 4 free cleanings! (I use them for that , too) Overall very nice job and we are very pleased. <br />

Booster pump started making a lot of noise. Recommended replacing pump with different brand. The work was good but they seem to be a little high on price. <br />

They've been working on my pool for about 4 to 5 weeks. The plan I have is $30.00 a week and I supply the chemicals. I have the option to pay for the chemicals with them via credit card and they would bring them out. They are taking good care of the pool as far as I can see.

After contacting A-Affordable Pool, they came out to inspect the project, provide their suggestions on what needed to be done along with a price estimate, and project timeframe. After agreeing to move forward, we encountered approx. a week's delay due to rain, and then they called to advise us they would be onsite the next day to drain the pool and begin the project. During the process, one of the owners would call to update us on next steps or to set a day/time to come by to discuss progress in person and to answer our questions.They did this three times over the course of the project to address our concerns, providing answers and/or options as needed.

Their work was really good and they were professional. They charged too much. When I compared them to other companies in the local area they were double the price. Sometimes they would show up on a different day then scheduled and I would have to call to find out when they were coming.

I have not been impressed with their services. I would not recommend them. They over charge for chemicals and do not have good follow up. His responsiveness is average but his action is below average.

"At the time that this member posted this report, he was still benefiting from our weekly service. Upon notification of this report and examination of his account, we discovered that the member had not paid for any of the weekly service dating back to April. At this time, his account has been suspended with A-Affordable Pool & Spa. Our chemical charges are competitive with all of the retail stores in the area. The cost comparison that he was referring to was from Costco, which is a much lesser quality and strength chemical. We have begun the necessary steps required to collect our money from this member."

So far they have been good. They have come out twice and found some things that needed to be fixed on the pool. They have been great at following up and informing me about the maintenance on the pool since I have never had a pool before.

Noel from A Affordable Pool came out to fix a leaky pipe on the pool equipment. I was not home at the time but Martha at the company's office was nice enough to call me and explain what needed to be done and what the cost would be. The leak was fixed and I really appreciated the high degree of professionalism and communication. I will definitely be using them for all of our pool needs in the future. <br />

I began using A-Affordable after being taken advantage of by another service company. Though they do not offer a bi-weekly service during the summer months which I had hoped, I am paying on average $200 less each month for a much better job. The staff has been incredibly friendly and professional. I have only been using them a few months, and will edit my review if I become dissatisfied, though I certainly don't see that being an issue.

Phoned to make an appt. for some repair on the pool pump as it was spraying water and the pool light was out. A-Affordable Pool and Spa Service scheduled my appointment and confirmed the day within the next few days (2-3). When the pool specialist arrived, he introduced himself and was professional. After assessing the problem, he had to go out to get the parts required to complete. He came back and completed the project....went over the process of what was done. Job was excellent! <br /> <br />

When I initially contacted them, they told us in advance that they were a little more expensive than a lot of other companies, but they make up for it in the quality of service they provide. Great! Being in the service industry, I appreciate great customer service. <br /> The first individual they sent out had no idea how to work on spas... he was a pool guy. That's fine, they had their "spa guy" call within 24 hours to set up an appointment. He came out and took a look at the spa, said he could fix it. We agreed on the quote and he told me once the parts came in he would schedule the service. About a week later he came back to as promised. While working on the spa, he repaired what he said he would in the time he said he would. <br /> The problem is, while in the process of repairing it, one of the pipes snapped. I understand this happens... the spa is old, parts start to get frail after a while. He said he had to order the part from California and it might take a couple of days for it to get in. He also said he was going on vacation, so depending on the delivery date, the installation may have to be delayed until he returns. That's fine, everyone needs a vacation! I appreciated his honesty. <br /> Well, this was on or around June 27th when he was last in contact with us... as of today, July 27th we have yet to hear from him... I'm a pretty patient person, but this is ridiculous! If he forgot, that's fine. Fix my spa! If he's not going to, let me know so I can find someone more professional and probably much more punctual when providing a service. I expect some kind of discount once this service has been completed. I've been more than patient with you technician. I trust that you are a reputable company and this may be a one off, but I'm incredibly frustrated with my experience. I'll be more than happy to provide you with this guys name if you wish to contact me, but I imagine you already have those details at your disposal. <br /> <br />

I had them give me an estimate for weekly pool service. They came out and charged $90 for the initial visit then gave me the option of $30 a week without chemicals, or $40 a week with chemicals. I choose the full service with chemicals. Within two weeks of them servicing my pool I saw an abundance of black algae growing in the pool. They had just serviced the pool that day so I called the office to check. I was told they would put chemicals on the truck to treat the algae when they came back the next week. Anyone that has a pool knows you can not wait a week to treat algae. The longer it goes untreated, the harder it is to get under control. My wife and I had to spend several hours wire brushing the pool to get the algae off. That is what I was paying them for!

"Dear member, as anyone knows who has dealt with black algae in their pool, it is a very slow-growing algae and it extremely difficult to remove from the pool. Proper treatment of black algae has to be allowed to run its course. Black algae starts off with a single spore and over several weeks slowly spreads throughout the pool. The black algae was present when we began the pool service, and we were in the process of treating and brushing the algae. Because we are only at the pool once a week for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, sometimes additional help from the homeowner or additional trips are required to eradicate the pool of black algae. It is unfortunate that you chose to cancel service rather than letting us complete the treatment and removal of the algae. If we can be of any further assistance to you, please let us know."

Wow - we are so pleased about how the stone around the top edge of the pool was re-applied. The stone mason was very meticulous and did a fabulous job! A-Afordable pool service, Jeff, and his team cam through for us again. We cannot say enough positive comments regarding how satisfied we are with the work, the follow-up and professionalism.
