They were over an hour late. The guy that came was having trouble getting the frame on the door. He gave me a meter to go and do the work myself. He tried to show me all the different furnaces they have. He was so unprofessional.

They were horrible. For me, they were in the midst of a transition where the person who came out the first time was let go and they couldn't find a resource. It was a horrible experience. It took weeks to do and I left with no real knowledge gained. It was almost just like they regurgitated common sense to me. It was not a pleasant experience. I will not be using them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. They told us they were going to give us a $99 analysis and they said that it was normally $400. They didn't give us everything they advertised and then they charged us $200 for what was supposed to be $99. Finally they refunded our money on that after my husband spoke to them. We called them again to get an estimate for insulation and we never heard from them. The experience was not good. We didn't research other companies.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. They did a good job. The experience was good. They did what we needed them to do and they didn't push any other products. They gave my husband a couple of tips on some concerns he had with the roof. They were on time.

They were very flexible in telling me what else could be done and what it would take. They took care of everything and I did not have to run around or do whatever a home owner would have to do. I used them through a big deal and hence their pricing was great. I looked out of the window and I could see that they did a tight and very neat job.

Great guys. Showed up. Took care of business quickly but thoroughly and professionally. No hard up-sell. Told me my roof would be fine for another three or four years.
This house has about 1000 sq ft and a super strict mom, with three kids and a conserving husband. (I own this house with my daughter). My own house is 1300 sq ft and her electric bill is, on average, THREE times mine. Some of this certainly is because I live alone, but I keep lights on all night. We have tried everything with DTE for seven years, and we've gotten nowhere. This energy audit was excellent because it pointed out the leakage of air around the window air conditioner. In addition, the auditor also said we have insufficient insulation in the wall that has the window air conditioner. This is particularly upsetting because we participated in the STATE energy conservation program and the contractors blew insulation into all the walls in the house (allegedly). We do plan to have central air installed in the next few months and hope that will cure the leakage problem with the wall air conditioner.
I purchased an Angie's List roof maintenance package from Aaron's. They promptly came out and performed the service. I discussed a needed roof repair project with Aaron's representative; he wrote up a description of his recommended repair and quoted a price by email, suggesting that we get back together to discuss details. When I called back, I was informed that this person was no longer employed by Aaron's, but that they would send someone else out to start the process over again. A week later a second representative of Aaron's came out, examined the roof, and suggested a repair. We agreed; he wrote up a contract; we signed it and gave him a check for half the cost as a deposit. Three days later Aaron's telephoned us to inform us that they did not do roof repairs and would be returning our check. After I left a message, Aaron called me back to explain that they just did not do roof repair. I explained that both of his representatives discussed repairing our roof, both gave estimates for roof repair, one even called the office to ask a question while writing up the contract for roof repair, and that I would appreciate him standing behind his representatives and honoring the contract we had signed. Aaron repeated that they did not do roof repair. He told me he could not offer a warranty on roof repair and so would not do it. Then he said that he could do the work, but not offer a warranty on the work. He said, "That would be no problem. I could repair your roof, but I wouldn't be able to give you a warranty for it. Would you want me to do that?" When I responded that I would be willing to accept that, Aaron backpedaled again, and said that he was speaking hypothetically, and not really offering to do the job. He stated that the contract clearly indicates that they can back out of the contract and return the money. I agreed that he had every legal right to renege on the contract, but that I would appreciate him following through on it. He declined, and I thanked him for returning my call.
Company showed up on time, introduced himself and described what needed to be done and how product would work. I watched television while he installed which I think took an hour and he advised it would automatically come on when attic hit 80 degrees. Fan is blades and very quiet. Only way to tell it was working was to poke my head up in the attic and I felt a breeze immediately.
Was pleased with the service and felt got a good deal for product.
They did a great job. They even took care of some other small things on my roof while they were up there. I was very pleased. The only thing that I could say was negative, was that I never recieved any paperwork on the product or the job. I think if they could provide this to their customers, that is something I would have appreciated.

I purchased this Big Deal after having priced similar fans at a variety of vendors. The cost of the fan plus installation with the additional inspection beat any of the deals I found. Since I'm reticent about going up on the roof, I was happy to have someone else tackle the project.
The fan was installed and the insulation and roof inspected in short order. Within 2 hours, the difference in the temperature of the second floor was significantly improved.
The only glitch in the whole process was the fact that the installation date had to be moved due to the lack of equipment available for installation. This was disappointing as it required re-scheduling. I would have thought that the necessary supplies would have been in hand so that the scheduling would not have been a problem. It was an inconvenience - apologies were abundant - but little more than that.
I am quite pleased with the overall outcome.
The big deal came at a time when a lot of things were needing immediate attention in my house, so the timing could not be better. It was a little hard to get connected with the salesperson, but after a couple of days of missing each others calls, we were able to make arrangements for the work to be done. On that particular day, we had a major thunderstorm and we rescheduled for another day. The contractor arrived right on time and got right to work. He took pictures of the areas of the roof he sealed and the chimney which needed to be repaired. He offered to repair the chimney that day and the price was very reasonable. He went to the store to get the supplies needed and returned and completed the job quickly. He cleaning up all of his work and the gutters. He was very nice and professional and i feel confident that my roof will not be leaking any more this summer or the next 5 years.

Two men in a non identifiable truck pulled up and stated they were from Aaron's Home Improvement Inc to install a Solar Fan to my home. Len stated the advantages of the Solar Fan and wanted to make sure we wanted the fan installed. After some discussion, we decided to have the fan installed. However, during the installation I asked them why the fan was located at the far right of the roof and they indicated so the sun would shine of the Solar panel. The installer stated they had installed about 60 of these fans, so I thought they knew what they were doing. But little did I know, they did not! The following is the reasons why I gave them a "D" and would never recommend them.1. I DID NOT receive a Sales Receipt or a work order showing the purchase and installation of the Solar Fan from Aaron's Home Improvement. I actually have no proof that this firm installed the Solar Powered Roof Vent.2. I DID NOT receive any information on the Solar Fan until they were getting to leave and I specifically ask them do I receive any information of the Solar Fan? I was amazed when the installer reached into the shipping box they were taking away and gave me the paperwork that came with the fan from the box. Indicating to me, if I did not ask for it, I would have never received it!3. I DID NOT find out until after they left in reading the instructions from the manufacture on how to install the Solar Vent Fan. They did not install the Solar Vent Fan according to the instructions from the manufacture. Where if the fan is located in an area not optimized for the sun, the "Solar Panel" should be removed from the fan and relocated to a better position on the roof!4. I DID NOT receive any written warranty on the purchase (except from the manufacture and it indicated I had to prove who did the installation, which I don't have) They stated I had a 5 year warranty but it is only a "verbal warranty" not a written warranty.
Response from Aaron's Home Improvement Inc
"We sorry to hear that this homeowner was not satisfied with the work completed on his home. In response the specific issues in his complaint, we apologize that the 2 week old truck was yet lettered with company logos if that was his expectation. In the response to the location of the solar fan, it was installed exactly to the manufactures stated instruction. If there is trouble with his understanding of the installation instructions, he can call anytime for a full explanation. The location that he requested was not optimized for solar power. We installed the fan where solar power was optimized. It was not possible to install the vent where he requested and the solar panel in a different location due to length restrictions of the panel and fan wiring. As stated, the fan can not be installed any other area and achieve optimal performance. A sales receipt could have easily been obtained by request through Angie’s List. The fan was purchased through Angie’s List. In terms of our warranty on the fan, if there are issues with the product call and we will help with the service for the next 5 years. In response to your request for a refund, we can not accommodate you. It is our feeling that we installed a better product then what was originally offered on the Big Deal. You were made fully aware of the change before the fan was installed and accepted the new offering at that time. At any time you had a choice to decline the offer and chose to have the fan installed. This being the case I don’t understand asking for a refund? Lastly, if you have any problems with our services at Aaron’s Home Improvement, please call our office. We will handle your issues immediately. Thank you for business. We value you as a customer"
