Awful. He didn't show up when he was suppose to. Couldn't do the work that I originally said I needed. He was suppose to come back and didn't show up.

Abe claimed only 1/4 of the list could be done in 8hrs time and was only interested in handling the siding issue. I left the house at 8am and returned at 1pm to find the work had been finished, so he was basically paid for less than 4hrs worth of work on an 8 hour special. I would be willing to accept that if it weren't for the fact that he used obviously used materials but charged for new ones. To make matters worse, an energy auditor that audited the house a few months later commented that whomever had put up my siding didn't install it with any backing for the siding (Tyvek). A directional wind would allow rain or snow to get inside the house due to the obvious short cut with the siding. Well months later the siding became loose and was flapping in the wind which made a tremendous amount of noise. I called Abe back and asked him to please correct this situation. He said he would come out the next day to look at it and never showed up. This went on for weeks until I threatened to call Angie’s List customer service to complain. He finally stopped by late one evening on his way from another job. I pointed out the flapping siding he had previously installed and also advised him the auditor told me there was no backing to the siding he had installed. I expected excuses and denial but what I did NOT expect was for him to say someone had stolen the nail used to hold the siding in place and then he blamed the auditor for taking it! I told him that was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Why would someone put a ladder up to my house, and climb on the garage roof to steal one nail? I also advised him the auditor was never on that side of the exterior of my home, All his work was done inside my home so how could he have stolen a nail from the outside and what possible reason would he have for doing so? Abe just kept mindlessly repeating the nail had been stolen. What ticked me off even more is I live within a few minutes of several home improvement stores. The time we spent arguing about an imaginary stolen nail could’ve been spent going to the store to purchase a new nail and banging it in place, in addition to saving his reputation. I stood there in disbelief as he pulled off never to return while my siding continued to bang noisily in the wind. Needless to say I had to hire a different contractor to undo all of his inferior work and complete the job correctly. AB Contracting is a prime example of why people hate to hire contractors to do much needed work in their homes. The only reason I hired them was due to good reviews on Angies List. Good help really is hard to find. Thanks a lot Abe.

This was not a good experience. I had to call them because they never got back to me. When I first called him, I told him the stuff that needed to be done. He did not say anything, and ended up coming. He was a little bit late. Initially he said that he could not do part of what I had already told him I needed to have done. What I thought was going to take a good share of the day, he said he couldn't do it because he was by himself. He needed other equipment and other people. He made a pretty good mess in the bathroom on a basic plumbing job that I had asked him to do. He then said let's pick another date and I'll come back. I picked another date and he never showed up. He had forgotten that he had made another appointment with me. He said let's make another time. He came and I told him initially I just thought I needed the brick molding around my door removed. My brother in law said that I needed a door jam. So when the gentleman came over, I told him that I needed a door jam. He said that he will give me an estimate. I never got an estimate, I texted him and said where is my estimate. I had a very bad experience with him. It was a language barrier, and I lost a lot of money on that one. It was fair work, nothing spectacular. I asked for basic things and as I said I was not happy with what he did in the bathroom. He was very polite, he promised us and did not follow through.

Arrived a little late Removed powder room sink, tried to put in peristal but it was a few inches too long. Said they would come back to finish and for me to just call them. They did remove and install the kitchen faucet. Got the sink the next day, tried to reschedule and left several messages, but never received a return call, the number started being busy all the time. Be careful with this company, because of my past experience with contractors, before I purchased the deal from Angie's List I called them to be sure they would do the work I wanted. They assured me they would, but they encouraged me not to buy the deal thru Angie to purchase with them and they would give me the same deal. Because I had them on he phone I said ok. So thru no fault of Angie's List this happened. DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY

Very poorly. This was a two hour handyman deal. It took a month for me to reach them as they did not reply to initial message(s) sent through Angie's List. I finally placed phone call in desperation on a Sunday morning to a number that I found for them online. He made the appointment and kept the appointment. My principal concern was to reinstall a mailbox door because I had my mail held at the post office waiting for them to respond with an appointment time. I had ordered the parts needed to reinstall this "upscale" mailbox door at great expense. The parts came with directions. I gave him the envelope containing both the parts and the directions. He used the old parts which were worn and defective, thus failing to repair it securely and can not offer any explanation as to what happened to the new parts. When I called to ask him about the new parts and the envelope with the directions in them, he simply brushed me off and gave no answer. He grumbled about being asked to change the sockets and switch plates, and left a mess after doing so. This was a two-hour deal; he arrived at 9:30 a.m. and left at 10:45 am. There was enough time to reinstall the mailbox door properly, following the directions. Now I must order the parts again, pay for them again, and find someone to reinstall the mailbox door properly. I prefer not to have people who cut corners on a job, fail to honor their work commitment according to the Angie's deal (full 2 hours) and steal the parts (which were not at all cheap). Yes, I know of no other term that aptly describes it, but theft. When he had to turn off the power in order to replace the sockets, he saw that we are remodeling the basement and asked about job possibilities. I would never, ever ask them to do anything else for us and I strongly recommend that you not do so either.

They were prompt, professional, and courteous. The work was performed well and they cleaned up after themselves. In addition, they were extremely neat, even wearing booties in the house. I will be reaching out for more projects.

Drywall installation went ok, however, when they installed the shower walls it went very wrong. The supports that were used to hold the shower walls while the caulking was drying damaged two walls that were in perfect condition. I now have four large areas (1ft square each) of damaged walls. Abraham keeps telling me he is going to come back and fix them but he has not.

To make matters worse, the caulking for the shower walls was not applied per the Swanstone instructions so the shower walls did not hold. The shower bracing they used was also questionable. Abraham blamed the walls not sticking on the Swanstone material not being straight as the material was a bit bowed so I called Swanstone. Swanstone advised that this is normal for the material and when installed per the instructions, the material will adhere to the walls.

Since then I had to remove the walls myself, remove all of the caulking from the walls and shower walls. Now that I am quite sure Abraham is not coming back I have to fix the damaged walls where the caulking did stick, the walls he damaged with the bracing and basically start over.

This has been ongoing since March and it is now mid June. I have given Abraham more than enough opportunity to fix this issue and he has not, which is the reason I am just now writing this review.

UNACCEPTABLE ABRAHAM! I should not have paid you for the work that you did! Waste of my hard earned money!

Perfectly!

They arrived on time and cleaned the driveway thoroughly before spraying the asphalt.

The result was excellent: They sprayed evenly and were careful not to overspray so that the edges were sharp where the driveway contacted the house.

When they had finished the driveway looked as good as new. The cars were back on the driveway 24 hours after spraying.

When my neighbor saw the result he asked AB Contractors to do his driveway too!

When another $900 (for labor involved in removing concrete floor under kitchen linoleum) + $500 was presented, I mentioned I intended to take advantage of 10% discount offered to Angie's customer. AB became upset with me because his initial price "was so good". I suggested he not offer it if he wasn't willing to honor it!
AB Contracting did a terrific job on fixing the crack in the ceiling & installing the crown molding. His electrician did a terrific (although messy) job of installing the vanity light & outlet. The vanity, sink & faucet were installed & look great.
The tile job itself looks great but his finishing touches are poor. The tile went down the side of the ledge. He installed a piece of molding below the tiles, leaving the holes in the hardwood floor obvious on either side of either molding.
The kitchen floor results are the reason for my poor scores. No attempts were made to protect the other rooms from sawdust or concrete dust. I personally hung old sheets in all of the openings between the kitchen, foyer, living room, and sunroom. AB Contracting found a sub floor of 2/3 old hardwood & 1/3 concrete. After removing the concrete, the floor was down to the crawl space & had to be reinforced. New hardwood was put down. Then his lack of experience took over. The kitchen adjoined the dining room which has hardwood flooring. After removal of old flooring, there was a variable 1-2 inch gap between the dining room & kitchen floors which AB covered with a thin piece of stained thresh hold (which split when they moved the frig from dining room back to kitchen. A different stain was applied (which "matched" the dining room floor) but not only to kitchen floor! It was also applied haphazardly to dining room floor, ending about 6 inches into room. It was quite an eyesore! The new kitchen floor was rough, not smooth like my other hardwood floors. Cuts & holes in the hardwood were NOT filled in. The floor was sanded against the grain rather than with the grain, so that swipe marks of stain were evident throughout. The varnish was shiny on some spots & dull in others.
When they moved the frig back to the kitchen from the dining room, they made 2 12-18 inch scratches in my dining room hardwood & then broke the threshhold piece.
Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in the services provided by someone supported on Angie's List.
I purchased two gallons of paint and 1 gallon of trim that they advised me to purchase. They were supposed to finish the job that was nearly done. Some rooms just required an additional layer of paint and some just needed a touch up. During their painting job they did not end up using 1 gallon of paint. Based on what I could see there were several spots that required paint that weren't done, for example, the kitchen walls between the ceiling and top edges were left untouched. Also they didn't take the time to cover areas as to not get paint everywhere. Their was work was sloppy to say the least. He also never completed installing the bathroom faucet nor caulking around the tub as included in the price paid. I met with the Service Provider on a Friday night around 6pm as requested. He advised that he would be finished at that time and I was to pay for the job. I spent an additional 2 hours going over areas that were not done to my satisfaction. I didn't leave the location until around 8:30pm. It was dark, so the items I could see he tried to correct. I returned on Saturday morning to shampoo the carpets and was able to see more clearly the paint job. The job was done sloppy. A lot of the work was a mess. It didn't appear the kitchen was painted at all. There was paint on the shower curtain, paint specks in the carpet. Pure laziness. I have been in communication with the company however it appears based on text message that he will not be returning to finish or correct the job.
