"We do not read emails". The service was good until I signed up for the service plan a year ago. Per agreement, I am supposed to get three free visits per year including maintenance visit for cooling system and maintenance visit for the burner. Having paid $25 for 12 months, I was unable to schedule even a single maintenance visit. They do not read emails - and admit that. I called a month ago to schedule service and was told that "Dennis is too busy now". What does this mean? Why is he busy with other clients not having time to fulfill the service plan terms? And what is the purpose of email address if emails are never read or responded to?

Couldn't have been worse. Without getting into too much detail this is just another contractor that over promises and under delivers. Terrible attitude, unprofessional, and sloppy work. Dennis installed a smaller air handler then the one I paid for because he didn't have enough common sense to measure the opening to the attic in advance. The air handler was also blowing cold air into my unfinished attic because Dennis and his improperly trained crew didn't properly connect and seal the plenum to the air handler(see pics attached). The lineset cover running up the side of my house into the attic is always falling apart and needs to be reattached. I called them back several times to fix their shoddy work which was a complete waste of my time. Dennis is the kind of guy that tells you that he wants you to be happy but is unwilling to do what's right and necessary. I ultimately had to throw him out. A picture is worth a thousand words...Look at them. Believe all the negative reviews!

This company is as shady as contractors get. I should have checked Yelp first, but I went with these guys partly out of desperation...they were the only Poconos heating contractor to return my call...and partly because of their decent rating on Angie's List, which I'm pretty sure is fueled by multiple fake reviews. Dennis Gordon, the owner, came to inspect my boiler on 10/26. He almost suckered me into overpaying for a Bosch boiler/water heater combo unit, but instead made a laundry list of things the current boiler needed, which came to approx. $1300. He required a 50% deposit up front, so I stupidly gave him $740 cash ($85 was to cover his service fee, so $655 less the fee). We scheduled for him to return on 11/5 to complete the work. I received a call from Dennis' office manager, Chrystal (sp?), around noon the day of our appt. saying he'd be an hour & a half late. I was already on my way to the house (a 1.5 hr drive from my full-time residence) but begrudgingly agreed to push our 1:30 appt back to 3. I received no other call or update until I called Chrystal around 3:45. She couldn't track Dennis down, and was even at one point parked in my driveway waiting for him because he owed her back pay. The whole thing was incredibly shady and unprofessional. I wound up waiting until 6:00, at which point Chrystal was gone and my calls were going to their answering service. I spoke with Chrystal the next morning about getting a refund. She agreed that I would receive a full refund before the end of the week. This is the beginning of what has turned into a month-long saga of trying to retrieve my $655. Over the last month I've called Dennis' office no fewer than half a dozen times, each time being told by his now-office manager Sarah (Chrystal quit) that she'd "check with Dennis" and get back to me (she never gets back to me). At one point she said refunds are paid on the 3rd Tuesday of the month (this conversation coincidentally took place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month) and that Dennis would be deducting a 25% "restocking fee," which was subsequently reduced to 12% when I refused to pay his bogus fees. I've been in touch with the Northampton County DA and have begun criminal proceedings to retrieve my money. Everyone should steer clear of this company at all costs. Dennis Gordon is a swindler and a thief.

My review of Able heating and cooling, I had a new Heat pump system installed. I was very pleased with their professionalism as Dennis came to my house reviewed my old system and recommended the replacement, the replacement was everything he said it would be, the day of installation's his crew was very professional and took great care in keeping things neat and clean and removed the old unit and all debris. I would recommend able heating and cooling to any of my friends, it cost exactly what they said, it did exactly what they said, and it was as efficient as they said, I would like to thank Dennis and his crew for a job well done.

He was the first to get back to me, fairest price for the service call, extremely pleasant and polite, completely professional, and provided me with the most appropriate and cost effective solution to my AC problem. Dennis Gordon and his company, Able Heating and Cooling, Inc., are incompetent and unprofessional. We hired Gordon and his company to install the Daikin Heating and Cooling system in May. We paid the entire balance by the middle of May, for almost $7,000. Since the installation, the A/C unit has not worked for more than 30 minutes even though the company has made a handful of service calls promising to fix the issue. As of the first week of July, the company and Gordon have stopped responding to our e-mails and phone calls. The messaging service always says that they will relay the message but no one returns our phone call. We are now $7,000 in the hole without a working AC system during the hot summer months. Also, they could not even properly install the exterior unit which resulted in panels falling off the exterior wall of the house. We have never encountered such an unprofessional and incompetent business.

He was understanding to our concerns since someone else had started the work of which a lot had to be redone. Came out on a Friday, quoted Saturday morning and work was completed the following Tuesday. Totally profession, efficient, understanding and just a great guy to deal with. Will be using him from now on.

Dennis Gordon is a fine example of integrity and honesty from beginning to end! Being a new home owner, we were not prepared for a complete system breakdown. Our very first call was to Able Heating and Cooling, and after meeting with Dennis Gordon, we never made another call! He was here immediately, and was not pushing products on us that we didn't need. He provided us with cost effective options to resolve our issue. Dennis is also very personable and sympathetic to our needs and worked diligently, and in a timely manner. Able Heating and Cooling will DEFINITELY be our only choice in the future when it comes to all of our servicing needs!

Dennis handled intake request personally. Because this was an urgent situation (no heat in winter), Dennis handled as priority and got me scheduled despite full work load. Within minutes his team identified the issue, resolved it and only charged the service fee. Highly credible service.

Dennis charged me $300 labor and $150 in parts. Tells me what a great furnace I have. A couple days later soot is blowing again. Now I'm told on his return that I need a new furnace. There's 'places' in the furnace that can't be cleaned! So, I'm out $450. Furnace is worse then when I called him. Don't use Able HVAC

Dennis diagnosed the problem correctly within 10 minutes. Another contractor I called struggled for two visits before arriving at the same conclusion. When I made the decision to replace the entire 15 year old air handler in the attic he was able to match my old compressor outside with correctly spec'd new epuipment in the attic for a reasonable price. It rained the day of the repair, but they did not cancel, they used a pop-up tent for protection. The repair was completed the day it was scheduled. I was kept informed about technical issues and was able to make my own decisions. My tenant was very happy. No mess in the house. Dennis either answered the phone every time I called, or called me back promptly. I received texted reminders of the appointment. I've scheduled Dennis for early fall to install a gas hot air furnace and a mini-split wall unit in my home.

I used Able Heating & Cooling for a central air conditioning add-on to my existing oil furnace setup. I actually chose Able over the HVAC who installed my heating system six months ago, as my prior HVAC proposal would not have worked given the space limitations I have in my utility room, nor was their proposal competitively priced. Able H&C had to go outside of their normal parts distribution channels in order to locate A/C equipment that would fit my tightly spaced heating system configuration, and without sacrificing quality. Not only did Able H&C accomplish this, but I was also able to maintain a competitive price for the parts and installation of my A/C system. You will love working with Dennis. He is knowledgeable, professional, and most of all...patient. He will answer all of your questions without getting frustrated. And as for the cleanup? You wouldn't even know he was there. I plan to use Able H&C again for all of my HVAC routine maintenance needs, and would strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for an HVAC professional.

Dennis was at the rental property on the day and time scheduled. He and his colleagues installed the heat pump and compressor, and I noted how they used a protective pad/sheeting material to protect the interior floor areas where they worked. Very professional indeed! Dennis tested the unit for both heat and cooling function before he left. The job was completed as promised on the day promised. Dennis reviewed operation with my tenants and myself and again was more than happy to answer any questions. I am impressed with the efficiency and professionalism of Dennis and his crew at Able Heating and Cooling. I would indeed recommend you contact them for your needs.

I've used Dennis and Able Heating & Cooling since I was in negotiation on purchasing my home. Dennis has been nothing but professional and responsive. I've recently had an entire new HVAC system installed. (Converted from oil burner to propane, also installed new AC unit as in a condenser and coil) lifetime warranties on the new equipment at a very reasonable price. I've referred home to family who has used him for large jobs as well. Highly recommended to all!
