Benny and Acadian did a great job on two separate projects for us. First (early 2016), we had an old attached carport in our backyard that was no longer used as a carport. We wanted to convert it into a storage shed. He gave us a fair bid (we took 2 other bids, 1 was much higher than his and 1 was comparable). His workers were very considerate and professional when we met them. Benny was very responsive when I had questions. The project was fairly involved, because they needed to move some HVAC units out of the way, expand the size of the concrete foundation, frame the walls for the shed, wire the shed for electricity, replace the carport lighting fixture, install exterior lighting fixtures, and install and paint exterior siding to match the house. They did everything perfectly! Second (mid-2017), we hired them again a year later to replace the old railing on our front porch. We had a miscommunication with Bennie about what we wanted the replacement to look like. But Benny and his carpenter were very responsive when we realized that what his carpenter was constructing for was not what we wanted. They quickly changed course to build what we wanted and we really appreciated the quality work and professionalism. We are in the process of getting a bid from Acadian to do some more work for us!

I had just a small punch list I wanted to get done and was worried it was too small of a job for them but they had a guy come out the week I called to take care of my list! Clean, professional guys that know what they're doing. Great experience!

I have used Acadian on other projects and was afraid this repair job would be too small for them but I was happy to hear they were sending Javier (who has worked on my home before and is awesome) to come repair the ceiling. I was worried the entire ceiling would have to come down but he was able to remove just the area around the crack and replace the sheetrock, patched it and repainted the ceiling. It was a 3 day job and I was expecting to pay nearly double what they charged me so I was happy!

Very well. Benny Nixon was very professional, His estimate was very fair and reasonable. He and his crew worked tirelessly to complete the job (working over the weekend) on my Mother's home. They did a complete porch replacement, step repair and painted entire project. I am very pleased with the result, Mr. Nixon did additional work at no expense to me and kept me updated via e-mail, text and telephone. Would definitely recommend his company.

They started off great on time then two weeks into it after money was paid. They starting to slow down and no one showed up some days it was left idle. The tiles were messed up paint on the walls on the floor very very unprofessionally done. I called the owner he would put everything off on to the subs the entire job was subbed out if the owner of the company was never on the property except on Fridays for pay day.. Benny the owner promised me with a handshake that everything will be completed. He said he would take care of it. Now six weeks later the house is still not completed and I paid him as he asked each and every time. And how he doesn't return my calls or my text stay away from this company I got burnt maybe it's because I was too easy-going and believe what he told me.

The entire project went as scheduled. Acadian performed their work in a timely and professional manner. The work crews showed up every day that they were scheduled and were always on time. At least one of the co-owners of Acadian either spent the entire day on project or at a minimum visited the project twice a day (morning/evening) to check on the progress and quality of the work performed. The actual craftsman/workers themselves were courteous and friendly. Since my project was negotiated by the hourly rate, Acadian actually kept a time-sheet on the premises with all the workers names and time of arrival and departure so as to fully and accurately document their work hours. The quality of the work was excellent and included some of the finest dry-wall finishing one could ask for.

All in all my experience with Acadian remodeling was great and I would not hesitate to recommend or engage them again for any future renovations/additions.

We own a 100+ year old home in a historic district. Prior to the previous job I mentioned, they have worked on our house throughout the years. Interior wise- they remodeled a bathroom (and they had suggestions for the design of the bathroom which kept in in keeping with the period of the house- it's beautiful); they also installed multiple layers of cove molding downstairs- the ceilings are 11 feet, so typical cove molding would not do. They also did some drywall and painting.
On the exterior, they constructed a fabulous pergola and a garden room detached from the house. The garden room is a separate building and is made of reclaimed windows- a unique design with a unique shingle type roof with skylights. About eight years ago they added a back porch with a balcony above. The also added a door upstairs that opens out to the balcony. When you look at the construction, you would never know it was added on. It looks like it was built 115 years ago when the house was built. The porch and balcony above, pergola and garden room have transformed our backyard and home.

Their work is good and they have good ideas to add to my ideas. I have been satisfied with their work. The last job on our rental we had a mix up with what time we were meeting initially, but otherwise they are reliable about showing up and making appointments. I would definitely hire them again.

This is probably the worst remodeling company I've ever worked with. Warning: they will send a drug addict to work in and on your home...imagine the consequences.
Also, we are writing this review after 3 months of trying to get them to come and fix the work which is not only incomplete, but completely terrible in the first place. They won't return calls, they won't be where they say when they say, all around the worst company I've ever worked with and I'm angry at myself for trusting a bunch of meth heads...

To put this into perspective, I shopped, bought, picked up, and delivered every single item and material needed for this small bathroom remodel.
I put the items 6 feet away from the bathroom. I set this contractor up for success.

What we agreed would be done: they would replace a light fixture in the kitchen and one in the living room.
What they did: Replaced the light fixture in the kitchen, didn't touch the one in the living room, and replaced the fan+light fixture in the bedroom, threw it away? and replaced it with the fixture which was supposed to go in the living room. They weren't even supposed to touch the bedroom at all...

What we agreed would be done: They would put in a new toilet (I had removed the old one myself).
What they did: Got plaster on the brand new chrome flusher, scratched the ceramic so there's a big gash in the side of the toilet, and left the wall behind the toilet completely disgusting.

What we agreed would be done: They would put in a new vanity. THIS IS THE WORST.
What they did: They installed the vanity, having punched? out a hole in the back for the plumbing to go. Then they SAWED A DRAWER TO BE SHORTER than it was supposed to be. Also looks like it was done with a butter knife. this drawer is filled with shavings from the punch hole in the back of the vanity because they didn't bother to clean it, and the drawer itself is only 6 inches deep now because of them sawing it? the second drawer in the vanity appears to be full-length however it does not open but half way.

They left trash everywhere, boxes everywhere, didn't clean up, left shavings and holes in places there should be no holes, and FOR SOME REASON THEY REMOVED THE VENT IN MY CEILING?! And never put it back up?! Why was it even removed?! Not even remotely in the SOW. Do yourself a favor, do not, do not, do not trust your home, your possessions, or any handywork to this group of "contractors".

Great experience. I was nervous hiring a contractor because our house is so old i wanted to make sure whoever we hired was familiar with old construction. Great carpenters that did good finish work and even helped me iron out some of the design details.
Everything turned out great.
They actually worked on my home last summer. When I bought my home, it had a "bowl dip" in the hallway. Acadian Remodeling explained that it was due to the age of the home (1940's) and the convergence of several walls stemming off the hallway, the weight of the walls just took its toll over time.
They installed a new "sill" that went on top of the piers under my home where the dip was located. They jacked up the existing piers, installed some new piers and kept adding blocks until the weight was lifted and evenly distributed among the piers. They actually had to do that exercise on 3 different visits over the past year before the house stoppled "settling' in that area.
It has been a few months since their last visit and all is still well so I am pleased with the overall outcome of the project.
My back hall around the attic fan was mildewing and heat was entering the home from the attic fan. The crew first removed the attic fan from the ceiling and put in the joists. They installed the sheet rock, taped and floated. In addition the cleaned up all the mildew on the rest of the ceiling. They textured and applied two coats of paint to the entire hall ceiling. I am very satisfied with this company. The owner is very knowledgeable with all the work that needed to be done, he kept in touch throughout the entire job. The price was very reasonable for all the work they did. They came when they said they would and did a very thorough job. They worked hard and completed the job just as they said they would. I would recommend these guys 100%.

I first contacted Acadian Remodeling in the beginning of October 2014. they worked closely with me on the pricing for the project in order to make it work within my budget and we finally signed a proposal/contract mid October. They were willing to let us as homeowners so some of the work in order to save money and stay on budget. Acadian made sure to contact me before any work was done that was not in the original proposal started.

Work began in November 2014 and lasted through January 2015. they worked pretty much everyday not including Thanksgiving and Christmas, sometimes they even worked on weekends. No major problems or issues came up. General construction work was excellent. Finishing work (drywall, trim, windows, and doors) was average. There were a few things not to my liking but Acadian fixed those and made sure I was completely happy with the final result of the project. Clean-up during and after the project was average. Overall, my experience with Acadian Remodeling was great and their crews were friendly and professional. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
