Deposit was received and material ordered. Special order material was on back order supposedly. After 4 months, canceled the contract. Put a $9k deposit and all I got for it was maybe $1k worth of material. No refund on the rest. Beware giving this person any money up front as they may just keep it.

This is an honest and reasonable company. Today I had a new toilet installed. Work was done in a timely manner for a reasonable charge. Previously I used the company for a deck and fencing, as well as bathroom remodel. 5 stars for all projects!

The project that was supposed to take a week (deck) is now going to be going on 4 weeks. Out of 4 weeks, he has shown up for about 2 - 3 hours a couple days each week. Every other day, there is a schedule change, conflict and a promise to be here "early in the morning" but I don't hear from him all day only to say, "I'll be there tomorrow" and still no shows. My project was supposed to only take a week, its going on a month now and under half is done. He is telling me that if I fire him, I loose the 3/4ths that I already paid him and he still has the rest of the lumber that I already paid for. As of today, May 6th, I am now having to hire someone else to finish the job and pray it doesnt cost me a ton more.....

To prospective clients reading this review, this client is having issues within her family and decides to go out of town and leave her estranged and disgruntled husband at the property. We show up to complete the work and we’re aggressively kicked OFF the property. We have our reasons as to why we believe he kicked us off but won’t disclose those. After that incident, the working hours changed because it was no longer safe to work with a small team at the property with such an aggressive person. We have to protect our employees at all times. Unfortunately, our new hours did not agree with this client but due to the situation her husband created there was no work around. We do not work in hostile environments and will never subject our employees to such. In the world we live in today, we can never be too careful and the safety of our team will always be priority!!"

I paid for two deposits to cover cost of special order materials starting in June. By October he keep pushing back the start, then we agreed to cancel the project. And now he refuses to refund most of my deposit back.

Great experience with A Carpenter's Sons! Reasonable pricing and really good work! They arrived on time and cleaned up afterward. They were patient and thorough in answering all of my questions. I really appreciated their honesty. Prior to starting the job they warned me there may be additional work but won't know until the steps were removed. When that was finished they told me everything underneath looked good and no additional work was necessary. I am already planning my next job with them!

Pernell is not reliable and he got money from me and did not complete the job. He will not return phone calls. He does lousy work. The address he has listed on Angie's List is a UPS Store address. He is a not reliable at ALL.

I was in a car accident and needed more time to complete the job and I offered to have it done by the end of January and you declined. You had multiple people in and out of your home with no masks during a pandemic and I still came to work on the renovations there. For you to come in the reviews and give FALSE information is honestly baffling. You asked for our mailing address and that is what you received. We gave you a partial refund because you did not want to wait to have the job completed. We do apologize for the inconvenience we caused you by getting hurt in a car accident but coming to give us a bad review because you didn't want us to complete the work by the end of the month is not okay. We are VERY reliable and extremely professional in our work. To anyone reading this misleading review please take a look at our website and judge the GREAT work we complete for our clients. Our work is far from lousy actually exceptional and we give our best at every job. So please do not let this false review deter you. We couldn't finish the job because of the car accident injuries even though we offered to do so and gave a partial refund."

Pernell gave is a fair estimate of the work needed for the new fence and worked with us as our closing date on the house was pushed forward a couple of times. Weather was an issue but Pernell was very conscience about not rushing the job and making sure the ground cured around the posts before adding the weight of the fencing. Easy to work with and I would not hesitate to hire his team again.
