They were absolutely so terrible.  I really don't know if I'm going to us Angie's List again.  They sent two people out that were suppose to be pointing and one guy stayed for a little while and he said he had to go check on something and would be back, left one man here and his job had been to do cement with swimming pools.  The pointing he did, a five year old could have done a better job.  When I called the owner back about it and he picked up a stone and scratched on the face of the brick and said well we can take care of this and started scraping on the brick which is a very bad thing to do.  I contacted him and he did not give my money back, I had a terrible time, I was so upset that I could not even write a review they were so bad.  They were awful and I know they had a good review and maybe they do chimney's and stuff like that, that is their specialty, but people can't see their chimney's most of the time.

Tried to upsell me on services i didn't need.  They said my chimney had dangerous levels of creosote that could only be removed with chains, meanwhile E & E chimney sweeps removed it with a standard brush. <br />

At the time I was satisfied . But, 4 years later the wall needed repair again. I've been told that pointing should not have to be done every 4 years.  When I called back last year for another estimate the worker came and looked at the job, was amazed at the deterioration (he worked on my house the last time) but, never came back or gave me an estimate. <br /> This rating is a combination of the two experiences. Like I said, at the time I was satisfied but  in the long term there were some problems with the work they did or I would not be back in the market for a mason who will take the time to do a job that will stand the test of time. <br /> Sorry I couldn't find the old receipt to give you the cost. <br />

Inspected chimney and made minor repair to seal area around chimney.  Repairs passed a subsequent home inspection. <br />

That was fine. That was a year ago. It was good. I end up spending $500. I wasn't expecting to spend that much, because they did a bunch of other things. I wasn't even there when they came. I was only expecting to get my chimneys cleaned and then they recommended I get the caps and spent more and I guess I needed the chimney caps, as well.

Owner seemed young and inexperienced.  Nice guy at first, but I deal with MANY contractors and I quickly saw through the BS. Terribly sloppy caulking job on cracks they filled (looked like a child did it) not to mention a bright color (probably all they had in the truck) so it drew your eye - and I wished it was never done - but it was caulk on cement so could not be removed.  I pointed this out and asked if he "was proud" of this sloppiness, and he said "yes" (unbelievable!).  When pouring the slab I stopped by right after the prep to inspect, and the cavity was mostly filled with rubble and even large pieces of stone and scrap mortar (no crushed stone either - just dirt) - I guess so less concrete would be needed to fill it and cost less?  I'm pretty sure this compromises the integrity.  Contractor was there for a few days and left trash (lunch bags, empty drink bottles, etc.) laying in the yard the whole time.  Finally on the last day supposed to "seal" a brick wall that had been power washed. I stopped by in the morning (I'm watching like a HAWK at this point) as they were getting ready to spray on the sealer.  I picked up the sealant container to read "DO NOT APPLY IF IT WILL RAIN IN 24 HOURS".  I questioned this (since that afternoon was 90% chance of rain) and he said "those instructions don't matter - we can put it on now a little rain wont hurt".  At that point I asked them to pack up and leave.  Better that this company is out of my life for good. <br /> This was a while ago maybe they have cleaned up their act... <br />

The service went fine. I was told later on by a roofer that I had a crack in the chimney. I figured they would have taken care of that. The technicians were very nice and great to work with. We discussed additional work but I did not go through with that. I had no problem scheduling the deal and they came on time.

They did a great job and were very professional.  Scheduling was super and at my convenience.

They came and did exactly what they were supposed to do.  They were professional and did a great job!

After much trouble scheduling, I was finally able to schedule and they promised to come out and do the work for me.  I have not heard from them since even though I paid the deposit.  I know they cashed the check because I have the cancelled check.

They were quick, thorough, and cleaned up well after themselves. There weren't any issues. They did exactly what they said they would do.

We called these guys to clean our chimney so that we could have a fire in our fireplace on Thanksgiving. They spend all of five minutes "cleaning." The whole time they tried to sell us a fireplace insert which they said they could install for us for $3,500. When I went to give them a check for the "cleaning," the guy said "It's filthy up there." "What," I exclaimed, "it is STILL dirty?" "Yeah, the guy said, "to really clean it I would have had to bring my blah, blah, blah, and blah, blah, blah it." "Why didn't you tell me that?" I asked. "Because Ididn't want you using it," he said. "You need a fireplace insert." Unbelievable! Now I am going to have to scramble around to find another chimney cleaning service that can come two days before Thanksgiving. Oh, yeah, and they were late. They said they would come between 9:00-12:00 and they didn't get here until after 1:00. <br />

Service was prompt and courteous.  It was necessary for them to come back and secure I think it was a piece of flashing, and to finish some overlooked clean-up.  Which they took care of very promptly.  The fix has lasted well. <br />

This company is full of liars and thieves.  I puchased a Big Deal for $400 worth of work for $200.  And yet we ended up paying $1200.  The reason I have given them such a low grade is because of the work promised vs. work actually done.  We had some repairs that needed to be done, and the deal had stated that before repairs were made, there would be a cleaning and sweeping of the chimney.  In fact, the product used to coat the chimney stated that the chimney must be cleaned first before applying product.  The owner had even promised me himself that they would clean it.  Instead, they used a wire brush to scrape of bits of scaling paint, and then slapped the product over the top of it.  They simply painted over 10 years of dirt and mildew without explaining their procedure.  When I asked them why they didn't clean it, they proclaimed they never said that.  They said that the "scraping of the paint" was what they had meant.  They even went so far as to say they had written in the contract that they wouldn't clean, they would just scrape off excess.  We have plants that were downstream from the chimney, and once it rained, all our plants died.  I demanded the company tell us what was in the product used for the chimney, and they refused.  The only reason this company does not get an F is because the product has stayed in tact for 4 years.

They were very insistent on receiving payment prior to the service. As my first experience with this company went well, I sent a check right away. After sending payment, they have been very unresponsive. They have set up multiple appointments and have not made it to a single one. They do not have any kind of legitimate reasons for their missed appointments, only poor excuses. They never call, and they never show up.  <br />

I had a good experience. The service was good.

As far as service goes the tech was just fine.  Nothing really stood out as exemplary.  I find a lot of times the 'big deal' is kind of an after-thought once the sales pitch for bigger services is over.  The followup by Joanne was probably the best thing this company has going for it.  In my opinion, the 'big deal' can really pay off for a company if they treat it like the primary reason for the service call instead of the hook for the upgrade. <br />
