Excellent! We agreed on Friday for survey to be done but someone was free Thursday so the survey was completed a day early. Rich took my initial call and remained my point of contact through the process. Very professional, kept his word, completed work ahead of agreement. I'm very pleased & recommend Atkinson without hesitation.

July 2015.... we needed property surveyed, appointment was set and survey was done as agreed. Problem was after.. It has now been over one year..we paid at time of survey and was promised receipt and the results of the survey by email.. it took over two months for check to be cashed and then we never got results. I have called at least 5-6 times left messages and even spoke with a man who said he would have bookkeeper send me results. I also sent at least 5 emails requesting results and we still have not gotten them. I see on other reviews around the same time, same problem. I think at least a phone call explaining if there was a problem should have at least been made. I am very disappointed as we did a lot of research on survey companies and was impressed by this one, at least on the phone.

On Sept. 8 I left a message for Rich Ackison, the owner of Ackison Surveying, to contact us about surveying our property. Later in the day, he called back. We explained our situation with the neighbor's fence that was put up without a survey  and now was on our property.  We also explained we would like to have the results of the survey to present to the zoning commission. Rich was very affable and said he could put us on the schedule and have someone out this very week and results could be in our hands in about five days after the survey was done. That didn't happen that week or the next.  Eventually, he did send out two men to do the surveying. They were very good. It is because of them that this review is a D and not an F. I would give them an A. <br />  Then, It felt like we had to pull teeth to get the results. We left phone messages for Rich to get the survey results to us, that is when his mailbox wasn't filled. I tried to set up blocks of time when we could meet on different days to see if was convenient for him to meet with us. He never responded. I then reached out to Angie's list to see if he was still in business, had an accident, or worse, because he was not responding.  The response came back that he was still in business, so I sent him an email letting him know I had gotten in touch with Angie's list.  He finally responded about 20 minutes after receiving the email. He said he had an accident involving his finger requiring stitches. He said he would send out the men who had done the original survey to go over the results with my husband and myself. This was finally accomplished on October 6, two days shy of one month from my original contact with Rich. <br />

Company stole $150 from me. Started out well. Rich called, was very nice and set up an appointment for the same week. Staking went fine, original property pins were found and measurements were taken for detailed drawing which I was told would take about a week. The difference between this service and just having yard staked was $150. However it has been a month and I have emailed once and called twice with no response. Unfortunately I paid up front so I am out $150 and have no drawing to use to plot my fence. I will keep this review all F's until they refund my money or give me the completed drawing. <br />

It went very well, they did exactly what we needed and very pleased with their service and professionalism. <br />

I want a new fence put up at my house in West Jefferson. I had bought the house after it was built last year. Two of the original stakes were still up but fencing costs so much I wanted to make sure the property lines were completely accurate. I called Ackison Surveying  to establish the property lines. An answering machine came on and I left a message. I was called back later that evening by Ackison Surveying. I explained the situation. He asked me if I would be home the following week which I answered, "Yes". He than said that someone would be out the following week for me and that with restaking situations like mine the cost would be $250.00.I was very pleased about this because I have had surveying done before and I had to wait a month in line behind other jobs and paid three times that much. The following Friday, I looked outside, a very nice truck with the company logo was in front of my house. Two men in safety vests were already staking my property.  The men were very friendly and asked if I wanted stakes placed in the middle of the longer runs; which I did. After placing the 2 extra stakes, they answered my questions about the front property line. I wrote a check for the $250.00 and they left. Now no mistakes about my fence line. Very happy! We have nothing but good things to report about our experience hiring Ackison Surveying to perform a survey of our property. As anyone looking for a surveyor for a lot housing a private residence will likely learn, finding someone to do the job efficiently and at a fair price seems almost to be an impossibility. Phone calls to the limited number of surveyors in the Columbus area go unanswered and messages left do not elicit a response. Appointments made are, as often as not, not honored and, just as infrequently, are no-shows cancelled. It is in this context that our experience with Ackison Surveying was such a happy revelation. We dealt directly with Rich Ackison, the company's president. He was immediately responsive to our phone call and he, personally, performed the surveying work. He scheduled the job within a day or two of our first contact and the price for the survey ($175) was, literally, half as much as a quote or two we had been given when we were lucky enough to reach someone who would offer a quote. Rich is extremely personable and took great care in performing the survey, uncovering and showing us several of the original posts marking the property from decades ago. He shared with us some illustrations of what our street looked like at that time showing a long removed alley between our house and our neighbor's. He answered all of our questions in accessible layman's language. We couldn't have asked for more and would recommend Rich Ackison and Ackison Surveying for your job without any hesitation whatsoever, utmost confidence, and great enthusiasm. <br />

We have an odd shaped property so it was more complicated than simply locating 4 corners, one segment of the property line starts in the center of a creek and follows it for a little way and ends again in the center where it turns back inland.  The team that came out found all the stakes except those in the creek, and were able to set new stakes onshore where they wouldn't wash away with the next heavy rain.  I would definitely call them again - very happy with the work.

He was extremely busy and hard to get in touch with. When he came, he walked with me around the yard and answered all my questions and provided the survey.

Ackison Surveying LLC was very good. When I spoke with Mr. Ackison on the phone, he let me know that he can do two different things for the land surveying before Lannis Fence put in my fence. Mr. Ackison said that there was a fee to put in temporary wooden posts or a more bigger fee if I were to have him put in permanent markers. I went with the wooden posts, but it was nice that he gave me options to choose from and was not trying to upsell me at all. Also, when I had Lannis Fence put in the fence, we got to talking about who my land surveyor was and I told them that I used Ackison Surveying LLC. They told me that that is who they use as well and that they spoke very highly of them.

He was good, he came out and did his job. He called backed and explained what he did and were everything was.

This is one-man show. He is really good. We really liked him. He showed up sick on the first day. He was very thorough. He gave us a lot of advice. We were having trouble with neighbor and he iron pinned and flagged our property lines. He is a good guy for your money.

Rich was able to quote a price over the phone for the job. We set a date, but Rich let me know that it was possible for another job to take precedence. I agreed, as his price was much better than all the other surveyors I had contacted. On day the job was perfomed my husband met the crew to go over the final details of what we needed.  <br /> Rich got the legal drawings to us about a week later. We let him know that the survey stakes across the creek were missing. He explained  that was a common occurrence, folks just pulled them out. He offered to come back and redo those when we were home so we could put in t-posts with signage.  Our property is heavily wooded in places , so he also offered to come back after the trees dropped all their leaves to add more stakes if we wished! <br /> We found Ackison Surveying to be professional, excellently priced, and ETHICAL! <br />

I called another company for an estimate it would be $500.00 and they would not just mark property line. Ackison were great to work with. The person I talked to when I called who I think was the owner, took the time to explain things and was very friendly and helpful. All i really needed was to find the property line in order to construct a privacy fence. He explained they could do the Pin Survey for $200 and if we had legal issues, they would come back out and do a drawing for an additional fee if needed. This was nice not to pay $500 for something we didnt need. <br />  Also they were out within only a couple days of my phone call to complete the survey. My crazy neighbor came out and bugged them while they were working and they were very polite to her but did not allow it to deter them from work. I highly recommend this company they do what you need to have done and are very friendly, and they answer questions and take the time to talk with you when you call. <br />

Ackison Surveying was great.  They came late afternoon as they had promised and it was a relatively simple task to find the pins and mark them for a lot survey. <br />

Ackison's came 4 days after my call to survey our property so we could build a fence. We live in Columbus; they did a great job and were quick. They did not leave a mess and they did what we paid them to do. I could not be happier.

I was having a fence installed. It looked like it was being installed on my neighbor's property so I wanted a survey done ASAP. I called several other companies' who were <strong><em>much</em></strong> more expensive (one was $675!!) and couldn't do the survey for up to 10 days. Mr. Ackison was very responsive. He had his people at my house the next morning. I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend.

On Sunday, April 15, I sent Mr. Ackison an e-mail for a survey quote. I saw his listing on Angie's List. He called me almost immediately - on a Sunday!! He explained the two different price points for his surveys and what was included in each. He is a registered surveyor with the state of Ohio, which was important to me. Be sure to ask this question if you're calling around. I opted for the $350 vs. the $200 survey, as I'm replacing a fence and want to be absolutely sure of the side property lines.  He even scheduled the survey around my schedule.  He told me the crew would be out between April 18 - 20 and he'd call before they came. He called me the morning of the 19th and his crew was right on schedule.  They worked quickly and efficiently.  They were courteous, professional and put up with all my questions. They did a great job and I have recommended his company to several co-workers who are considering installing fences. Great experiencee
