They are always on time and are very professional. They are always honest when something doesn't need to be worked on.

Initially, the job started out OK.  Jason was prompt in providing me with an estimate and his price seemed fair (in the range of the other bids).  Jason started the job as planned.  <br /> However,  shortly after they began work on the job, I noticed problems.  For example, when installing the new duct work in the living room the size of the duct appeared incredibly large and made 20% of the room unusable.  When I said something about it to Jason, he agreed to put in a smaller duct, but it was still huge.  <br /> I brought over the building inspector so that Jason could discuss with him where he might want to make changes to the structure.  Jason bounced a couple things off the inspector and the inspector replied that those approaches would not be ok, because they would compromise the integrity of the building.   Jason agreed and stated he would find another way. <br /> Jason originally estimated that the job would take about a week and a half.  Three weeks later, he was still working on the job and I continued to see issues.  For example, a joist was cut out in the hallway to make room for a flexible duct.  Jason was not often on-site.  Instead, there was a first year apprentice doing all of the work and, although he was a great guy, he received very little guidance and his duct work was often rough looking.  Including an occasion when he put another duct up and around the previously mentioned "huge" duct, making even less of the room useable! <br /> Now comes the part where this job went from bad to much, much worse.  Jason then stated that he was no longer able to obtain a proper permit for the work because he was not licensed properly.  He indicated that his business partner had left and that he was the only journeyman who was able to request permits and obtain inspections.  Jason asked me to get a homeowner's permit and pretend that I had done the work on my own. I was not OK with this and gave Jason some time  to find a way to get the permits and inspections on his own.  After going back and forth with Jason on several occasions. I finally had to reach out to someone else to complete the job. <br /> Western Heating and Cooling came in to give me an estimate on completing the work.  Upon inspecting the completed work, Kevin from Western, decided the work was so bad that the best thing was to call the local inspector in for her opinion.  They both agreed that the work was unacceptable- the ducts were way oversized (including being poorly placed and seams were not taped with the proper tape and a joist bay was used for a supply line, which is against code), the unit was oversized and was inefficient given how the improper sizing would effect the cycling of the system.  They both agreed that, for the system to perform effectively, it would have to be removed.  Furthermore, the inspector informed me that she would file paperwork not only with the city, but also with the state because the quality of the work was so bad and because he was operating without a proper license. <br /> I explained the situation to Jason, giving him the opportunity to set things straight and he told me that "our lawyers would have to talk" because he wanted more money from me. <br /> It gets worse because when we removed the ducts covering up the joists, we noticed that two of the major load bearing joists had been cut (removing almost 2 feet in one case- to make room for his supply ducts that were against code).  The floor had already started to sag and had to be jacked up and sistered to stabilize it. <br /> I hope it goes without saying that I would recommend that everyone stay as far away from Jason and ADA Mechanical as possible.  Kevin, Lupe and the crew from Western were amazing- I will never use anyone other than Western ever again (you can also read my review of Western here on Angie's List).  If you are thinking about calling ADA Mechanical- DO NOT.  Call Kevin Abbott at Western instead, 208-631-7954. <br />

billed $200 for a part that retails for $39.  Did lower the price when asked, but still, I paid $240 for one hour of work and a $40 part, with their coupon!!  Bummer!  I'll have to keep looking for a reliable, honest and fair HVAC service. <br />

My air conditioner stopped working on Sunday. I found the coupon for a free diagnostic service and called them Monday morning at 7:30. They were polite on the phone and made an appointment for between 12:00 and 2:00 the same day. They showed up right around noon and quickly got to work. They listened to my description of the problem and were able to narrow it down to either a bad capacitor or bad fan motor. They quickly disassembled the unit to test the capacitor and motor to find a bad capacitor. They had the part on the truck and was able to immediately install a replacement. My air conditioning was operational by 1:00!

I have used them once.  They were rated highly on the list.  I was very impressed.  I had a question and he would get back to me on a particular day.  We set an appointment for him to come by and look at it.  He had called and said his brother was sick and he said he would get back to me and he has never had a close followup.  I would not use them in the future.

Charged $230 dollars for the repair and the next day the heater would not come on. Upon a second visit proceeded to say it needed to be replaced because they didn't really know what was wrong with it. I will not use them again.

Great response, very knowledgeable - even the company who installed my legacy 26 yr old system didn't know where the filters went (A1 Heating) yet the tech at Tully's knew exactly where. Very professional presentation and speedy install. I didn't get another quote as I was so impressed with them. Even if they are more expensive it's worth dealing with a quality company who knows what they are doing.

Contacted Tully's to have a service rep come out to discuss a problem with a heating/cooling issue in one room in our home. On 7/23/2010 Bow from Tully's came out and checked out our issue and discovered the ducting to this room was too small and explained the problem with me. Bow gave me a price to do the upgrade to the proper size ducting as well as adding an additional floor register to this room to correct the problem and I agreed to the price. Bow also discussed with me, via my request, about their yearly maintenance program on the furnace and A/C equipment. I also agreed to that as the price is very reasonable for what they do and peace of mind. Work was performed on the 28th which was very quickly scheduled (thank you Laura from the office) when Bow came back out and replaced the ducting with the larger size and installed the additional floor register. Bow's work is very professional, clean and neat and there was very little in the way of clean up when he finished. Now that room is nice and cool like the rest of our home and I'm sure it will be nice and warm this Winter and we will have no need for the portable heater that we had to use last year in there. I am happy to be a satisfied Tully's customer! Thank You Tully's!

Although the troubleshooting was not solved on the first try, the owner of the company actually came out and got everthing up and running. The problem appeared to not only be a contact, but a clogged filter in the return vent. I will definitely call them again. Customer service was A-1.

They were very helpful. They did the work as they described. I have no complaints. They actually went above and beyond. They were going to reinstall a thermostat for a nominal fee because it was in the wrong place, but it was in a closet that was full, so I told them to forget it. They were trying to help me out. The only thing they didn't do was give me the winning lottery number and I was pretty bummed about that, but they did a good job on the furnace.

We have a house built around 1950, with a 15-20 year old furnace in our crawl space that we wanted replaced with a higher efficiency model. After getting numerous bids we went with Tully based on Angie's List reviews, and that he wanted to utilize the existing metal ductwork. The other bidders wanted all flex-tube with little concern for craftsmanship, longevity, and furnace location. We are very happy with the work and our new furnace. In December, we saved over $40 on our gas bill compared to the same usage last year. January and February are typically even colder so we expect even more savings. One of the most important things to me in a contractor is communication, whether it be general questions, updates, scheduling, or dealing with any issues. Tully did a great job listening, letting us know what was going on, and just being open to any concerns. We had to call once because of difficulty in accessing the filter and they immediately came and fixed it. I would highly recommend this company. The install went smooth (great job in such a small crawl space), communication was great, price was competitive, property was cleaned up, and they also went the extra mile to clean out the junk in our crawl space (there was an old cast iron stove under there for some reason that they had to deal with). Tully also provided us with all the information to receive the large tax credit for going with a high efficiency (97%) model.

I came to know of them through Angie’s List. They underbid two other companies. My experience with them was great. He took a lot of time to explain the options because there were some governmental rebates for that kind of work. He did the installation himself and did it very professionally. The owner came out to supervise which was rare. They also had a longer warranty than anybody else that I could find.

I was having trouble with my 20+ year old gas furnace "short cycling": the furnace would come on for a short period (1-1.5 minutes) then shut off. My house was not reaching the desired temperature due to this problem. James determined that it was a fan limiting switch that had gone bad and replaced it. This required a trip to the parts house which James was glad to make. Although the furnace was working properly at that point, James was not satisfied with it behavior and literally climbed half way into the furnace cabinet to look for additional problems. After blowing out the interior of the unit, the furnace was working fine and has been ever since. This should have been a relatively quick fix which James could have done and been on his way, but he took the extra time to make the unit functioned CORRECTLY and not just good enough to get by. The furnace is a 1989 model, and needs to be replaced. I appreciate that James took the time to work on what many service people would consider a lost cause, and not worth repairing. The cost of the repair was fair. I will definitely consider Tulley's when I finally replace the furnace.
