Adams Foundation Repair & Waterproofing

We recently hired Adams Foundation Repair & Waterproofing to install a drain tile system with sump pump and bury/reroute two external downspouts, which all appears to have been done correctly and seems to be working properly so far. That said, we refuse to recommend this company due to the following issues: 1. During the aforementioned job, the bottom half of our internal basement steps were torn out, and holes were cut/partial walls and shelving were torn out of two rooms in the basement. While this demolition may ultimately have been unavoidable, we were never informed of this possibility verbally or in the written quote from Adams before scheduling the job. As such, we will now incur significant additional expense to repair/rebuild these items that we hadn’t planned for. 2. Adams told us that their crew could disconnect, move and properly reconnect our gas water heater with pipe extensions. However, when the crew left, the gas was turned off and the water heater was not operating, as they said could not relight the pilot. My wife and I then noticed a strong smell of gas while attempting to light the pilot ourselves, so we immediately called the gas company. When the gas company technician arrived, he confirmed there was a LARGE GAS LEAK coming from one of the connections installed by Adams, and another smaller gas leak at the point of the other connection they installed. The technician quickly fixed the issue, but this negligent installation by Adams literally put the lives of my family and Adams’ crew in danger, especially if they had been able to relight the pilot. 3. The following day, we called Adams and calmly explained our concerns to the office manager, after which we followed up with a detailed summary email per her request. We followed up by email again 5 days later, then received Adams’ response 7 days after that, which stated that the crew handled the situation properly because they turned off the gas and told us it was off before they left. Then, regarding the damage done to our steps and walls/shelves, they stated they could not “confirm or deny” this demolition was ever discussed with us prior to the job. To add insult to injury, Adams granted us a small discount off our bill, which was less than 5% of our total cost for this work. We were not at all satisfied with Adams’ response, so we took some time to figure out what, if any, recourse we had. However, 6 days after Adams’ response email, they sent us another email, stating that our “account is past due and set to go to the attorney's office”. This email then threatened us with legal action and late fees if we didn’t pay the balance of our bill that day. Not wanting to incur any further expense OR deal with this company any longer, we paid the balance minus their small discount.

Since Adams Foundation Repair & Waterproofing repaired the crack in our basement wall, there have not been any leaks. The technician was prompt and professional. We would hire them again.

Adams foundation repair did a great job waterproofing our basement. They were very knowledgeable, honest, and professional. I would highly recommend them.

It went better and faster than I expected. Amazing people. Walked me through each process. Hopefully I won't have to hire a foundation repair person again, but if I do I will be hiring them
