Aden Roofing

Overall the treatment looks to be effective where it was applied, shakes/ridge caps were replaced but I don't know the exact count but I'm trusting my receipt count is correct, I cannot comment on the pipe flashing since I personally haven't been on the roof to inspect all pipe flashing but I assume the flashing was replaced as quoted and paid for in the receipt. My main issue is the roof treatment was not applied to all areas of the roof which is obvious since those cedar shingles did not change in colors like the other shakes did. Also, the area above the north fireplace was completely missed and I could still see moss hanging on main parts of the roof which I was told would go away with rain, they did not. We contact Michael Parks, the owner of Aden Roofing, several times through email and by phone. We were given the run around on getting his company back out to address the issues as he kept talking about weather issues as the main reason for delay. Finally after months of getting this run around and no date to commit to complete the work I wrote an on-line review about Aden Roofing and we were quickly called back by Mr. Parks. He wanted me to pull down the reviews as it was going to hurt his business and I said I would if he would just complete the job. We went around a few times again with scheduling a date and finally he committed to having a crew out the week of July 4th. We pulled all the plants and furniture back from the house to prepare for their work but no one ever showed. We called again and never heard from Mr. Park/Aden roofing again. Basically once he got our money we have never gotten him out to do the follow up work. I am disappointed about the professionalism of Mr. Parks and his so called 3 year warranty on his work. I feel cheated since I paid for a whole roof treatment and I obviously didn't get that since there are several areas that were not treated and not all moss was removed. I think he would have found time to do the work given he had a whole summer of good weather. I'm sure if I called again I would get the same "Weather" excuses. Consumer BEWARE of this company.

<p>1) bent existing backdoor awning.  Had to be replaced.</p> <p>2) layed tarps/plywood on top of flower beds killing flowers underneath.</p> <p>3) knocked over water bottle in attic making a water stain on bedroom ceiling.</p> <p>4) left scraps on attic floor.</p> <p>5)installed roof vents over area that didn't have a hole for the vent.</p> <p>Note: they did resolve most problems and adjusted price for damages, but the management should have better control over the work performed.  They constantly complained on how much Angie's List was getting from the job! </p> <br />

That worked okay.  I got a quote the first time and then I complained and they came back out and did a couple of things.  At least he was willing to do something to make it right.

The shed roof job was simple and straight forward, as was the job caulking the main chimney on my home's main roof.  All seemed to be OK, so following Aden Roofing's completion of the two jobs, I wrote a favorable review and gave them a "A" overall. <br /> It wasn't until later in the fall, when the rains began, that I began suffering a leak in the area that they supposedly repaired that was actually much worse than before they did the caulking & repair...so the problem was somehow made much worse(?)!!!.  <br /> When a friend of mine was in need of getting her home reroofed and a number of related projects, I gave her Michael Parks (Aden Roofing) number, and she arranged a time to inspect her roof and to bid on the needed work.  She asked me to be there, and I agreed because it was also an opportunity to get Aden Roofing back to my project to fix the problem with the leak which got even worse with his so-called fixing it...so when I asked him when he could arrange a time to come and fix what he was already paid to have fixed...Michael interjected some untrue 'revisionist history' comments that he had never ever said before.  Mr. Parks said that he had told me it would take $500 to repair the chimney, which was untrue, and I told him that that was untrue.  I reminded that he caulked my roof for $200 (which was actually about a half hour's worth of time to complete, and that she said the water based caulking was 100% safe and effective to do this kind of chimney/roof area leak repair.  He said that the product was guaranteed for 10 years, and that he, Michael Parks/Aden Roofing would guarantee it leak proof for 5 years. <br /> After numerous attempts to try and get Michael Parks/Aden Roofing back to do the job right (in the past Silicone Sealer was used as it is waterproof and it tends to bond effectively with both masonary chimneys, metal flashings, and my metal roof...but Michael said his product would work...but when he showed me one of the tubes, it appeared to be old, the tube itself was worn and somewhat crushed from seemingly being in the bottom of other materials that were in Mr. Park's truck.  I think Mr. Parks used this particular product because he had it...so he said this (his product) was better than Silicone despite my stating that it worked for around 5 years before more Silicone caulking was needed.  <br /> Since I have previously written a favorable review on ANGIE'S LIST back in October 13, 2013, and since I have been trying to get Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing to return and do the job right (which again they were paid for...and for which they guaranteed the work for 5 years, I RESCIND MY PRIOR "A" FAVORABLE REVIEW ON ADEN ROOFING, AND I NOW RATE ADEN ROOFING WITH AN "F" FOR NOT REPAIRING MY ORIGINAL MAIN ROOF LEAK, "F" FOR CHARGING ME $200 AND THEN EITHER NOT DOING THE JOB OR DOING IT IN SUCH A MANNER SO AS TO MAKE THE LEAK EVEN WORSE, "F" FOR FAILURE TO RESPOND TO MY MANY ATTEMPTS TO HAVE MICHAEL PARKS/ADEN ROOFING HONOR THEIR GUARANTEE, "F" FOR QUALITY OF REPAIR, RESPONSIVENESS, AND "F" FOR THE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM THAT HAS DELIVERATELY ALLOWED THIS PROBLEM TO CONTINUE WITHOUT HONORING THEIR WORD, THEIR GUARANTEE & THEIR THEFT OF THE $200 I PAID TO HAVE THIS PART OF THE JOB DONE RIGHT! <br /> I should note that I'm a Senior Citizen, and in reading some of the other reviews where other folks rated Michael Parks with an "F", I am now concerned that this may have been done to other unsuspecting Seniors(?).  I further note, that in Mr. Parks response to most of those "F" reviews Mr. Parks has a number of 'excuses' for why he took people's money without provding any services...and for those $99 ANGIE'S LIST Specials that people paid towards needed work, it appears that Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing kept that money that was fronted to them without doing the work they were prepaid to do(?)!  I also further NOTE that Michael Parks/Aden Roofing have a myriad of 'excuses' for their questionable business dealings and generally attempt to blame the customer for what is Michael Parks/Aden Roofing's failure to function and perform the job duties that customers paid for. <br /> In my case, there is no excuse for Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing's failure to call back and contact me because I have an answering machine (so I know for a fact that Mr. Parks hasn't called), and even though I'm hard of hearing, Mr. Parks/Aden roofing has both my USPS and Email address...so there is no excuse that Mr. Parks can make for his conduct and bad worksmanship. <br /> My only options now are to try and find a roofer or chimney repair person who can and will do the job that Michael Parks/Aden Roofing did in a very poor unworksmanship like manner, this time to get the job done and done right, whereby I will then have to sue Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing for both the costs for repair and now for any costs that result from damage due to Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing making a very small leak into a much larger one. <br /> Even IF Mr. Parks/Aden Roofing might read this negative review and decide to honor his word and fix the leak and the damages his prior <em>failure to function</em> might have caused, <strong>I can't and won't recommend Michael Parks/Aden Roofing to anyone...particularly Senior Citizens.</strong>  It has been well over a year and some 5+ months since I began trying to get Micael Parks/Aden Roofing to completely correct and repair my roof leak which they didn't originally fix...and that they actually made worse using what I now believe to be the wrong materials...and Michael Parks/Aden Roofing has not responded after repeated attempts on my end.  Any Provider response at this point, other than admitting their guilt, can only be false and untrue just like their word and guarantee that they have yet to honor. <br /> The above facts are true, and ANGIE'S LIST is free to publish my name and USPS & Email Addresses. <br /> Signed, <br /> Jeff Champion <br /> 3419 SW 1st Avenue, Apt. 3 <br /> Portland, OR, 97239-4606 <br /> (503) 241-4933 <Please NOTE: I'm very hard of hearing & I don't generally use the phone!> <br /> theonlyjeff@juno.com <br />

Aden Roofing is reluctant to honor their warranty contracts. They cleaned and treated roof in 2012 with a 5 year year warranty. <br /> When we called September 2014 to have him retreat problem areas, we were told that they didn't have a 5 year warranty, even though we have the signed contract specifying the 5 year period.  He said he would retreat the areas in April 2015. He didn't call or come in April . We called the company again and was told he would come in June.   <br />   <br /> When we called again to set an appointment he was extremely rude and very unprofessional wanting to delay until September, which is unacceptable. <br />

They were so quick, efficient and clean that we hardly noticed they were there.  The roof looked great, the workers were personable, and they cleaned up after themselves.  Total turnaround time from the first call was probably 3-4 days.  I will definitely be using Aden Roofing again. <br />

Fine. It's not a good deal, it's disrupted and it needs more clear and defined exactly what they are going to do and not do. It's very misleading The guy however is fine. The guys that come out are good.

The job went very well and that includes staying late to finishing the work in the evening hours.  They left the work area in the garage clean and neat, I couldn't ask for more. <br />

Michael has repaired another area roof before this. He's working with me to put off full replacement as long as possible. This leak occurred during spring, became obvious in June. I purchased coupon for $200 for $400 of service. There was a delay in getting the minor repair done as team was tied up with full tear-off replacement for another customer when unexpected rain happened. Repair finally done about 7/23. No notice left that repair was completed. Contacted Michael who checked with individual who did repair. It was confirmed as having been completed. <br />

The roof leaks seem stop, still have a few drop from outside not sure where. But they try their best to fix most of the leaks the previous contractor left us. Overall, they did a good job. <br />

I chose them because I thought this was actually going to be a good deal. I was disappointed because all I got was an estimate on services that they recommended to be done. Additionally, it was difficult to get the information from the inspection- we communicated back and forth several times.

I had to contact Angie's List to contact him before he reached out to me. They provided a roof inspection, but did not provide the other work included in the Big Deal.  I think I deserve a refund.

Michael Parks and his business partner, Jaime, measured the perimeter of the home's footprint and gave me an estimate which they kept too, even though part of their job would be replacing concrete tiles that were previously cracked. They said they could do the job within the next 2-3 weeks and they delivered. They hired experienced roofers who worked well in tandem, using safety equipment and being extra careful while up on the lightweight concrete tiles. They arrived on time and worked efficiently, washing down debris from the sides of the house and even from the driveway. Roof moss and gutter debris was carted away. No plants were harmed. Jaime pointed out three tiles that were cracked by hose movement and arranged for their replacement. The final result: my roof appears BRAND NEW! I could not be more pleased! It is a pleasure to work with service professionals who do everything right and are explicitly fair in their cost estimate. Aden Roofing handled my roof with great care. <br />
