Do NOT hire Dennis!! A project that should have taken 2 weeks, took over 6 weeks. To start, I contacted Dennis 3-4 weeks before we purchased a fixer upper house. He said he could start work the day after closing to get things going. The day of closing I reach out to Dennis to confirm he would be there in the morning and he informed me that he would be able to start for another week. To me that was unacceptable since this was schedule for about month. When the project finally started He would show up anywhere from 8AM-1PM and would only stay for a hour or two at the most. He was constantly making excuses that he had forgotten certain tools, had to finish other jobs he was working on, had to run to the hardware store to get something, etc. He said he would be right back but would wouldn’t return until the next day. Thankfully he wasn’t doing a lot of the work but had subcontracts do a majority of it. They worked hard and did a decent job. About a week or two after the project was complete, the new custom shower/tub that was put in wouldn’t turn off and was about to overflow onto the floor before I could get the water shut off. In the process some water went down the overflow drain and the next morning I have a large brown spot on my kitchen ceiling from the water. I had to have the water off to the whole house for over a day before I could get a plumber to come look at it. The plumber told me that the faucet was install wrong and with the wrong materials and that the overflow drain was put on backwards, leaving a large gap in the fitting. This is especially unacceptable because Dennis is a plumber. That night this happened I tried contacting Dennis about the issue to have him come fix it but he never answered. I had to foot the bill for the hundreds of dollars worth of mistakes he made. To be honest, there is a lot more I could say but I will spare you. I will definitely never hire him again!

"Hi [Member Name Removed], First, I want to say I am sorry you are upset. When I first met you I explained that I was fitting you in and would be challenging. I had over two months of work started and already built into my schedule with other people as well. You were in a bind and we both knew that, I did start a few days late but I also 2 to 3 men there constantly so I could bounce to be on multiple jobs but men were at your job site daily getting work done. A lot more work got added onto your project after you were fully moved in, we had to move furniture constantly, work around your family life, and I think we did well under all those circumstances. When you are working on every room of a lived in house it takes three times longer. I was shocked to read the first couple of paragraphs that you wrote, more so, that you were unhappy. As far as the plumbing goes, there is only one way to install a shower valve. You purchased the shower valve and it happened to be faulty, and that happens. As far as a tub boot in waste and overflow, you can not put them upside down. You mentioned that you called me and I didn't answer, I don't recall the missed call but I did not receive a voice mail or I would have helped. I don't mind the rating what bothers me the most is the fact that you're unhappy and that undermines all that we did do in a short amount of to to do your job. I am very sorry you and your wife are displeased as that truly does bother me. Thank you."

There were also some delays with the sheetrocking and painting due to weather but if you were still upset I wish you had called me and I would have done whatever I had to to make sure you were happy. I was always responsive and feel the words you used are harsh and inaccurate, I am not a drinker and would be happy to come back out if the job is not to your liking. Thank you, Dennis"

Excellent, Dennis arrived on time on scheduled date. Work required extensive scraping and calming prior to painting. Then on his recommendation a second coat of paint was applied. All within the quoted price.

Dennis was great, he was generous enough to touch up some other areas with Spackle free of charge. They knocked out the project in less than a week. He has a great group of skilled workers, the plumber and electrician were in and out without a hitch.

We have had considerable work done on our home over the past year and our experience with Dennis and Mark was by far the very best. They arrived on time, both have a wonderful work ethic and attention to detail. The tile work done by Dave is perfect. The pricing was very fair for the job which included totally gutting and replacing the flooring, tile, removing a fiberglass shower and replacing with a beautiful tiled shower, installing new vanity, toilet, etc. We also had exterior window sill and trim work done. My only regret is that we didn't have A & D do all the renovations in our home. I would highly recommend and would look no further should we do any more home projects.

<p> A few years ago, we interviewed several top-rated contractors from Angie?s List to add a bathroom to our first floor. Dennis Fecteau of A+D Renovations was our favorite of the bunch?he took careful measurements, suggested solutions, and presented a formal proposal. In the end, we decided not to move forward with the work? </p> <p>BUT, fast forward 3 years: Last fall we moved into a new house that needed a LOT more work. Dennis was first on my list to call! He came to our home three different times to ensure an accurate proposal for all the different projects we wanted to do. Dennis always arrived on time, with a friendly smile and ready for the day. He usually brought a team with him (Marky and Kenny), and they were also extremely friendly, polite, and conscientious about caring for our home. They were so sweet to my 18-month old daughter as well! Occasionally, Dennis brought in subcontractors (electric and heating), and they were great too. I never had a single concern about leaving them in my home day after day?in fact, Dennis even offered to let my dog out on days that we had to leave the dog at home! They always asked permission before doing anything?for example, during the bathroom demolition process, they wanted to dispose of the material out a second floor window in order to avoid dragging it down our stairs and damaging the walls. They laid out protective coverings on the floors and window sill, and you would never even know that was the path they took! They always cleaned up nicely at the end of each day. </p> <p> <br /> <br /></p> <p>Dennis displayed a high degree of professionalism in everything from the proposal to taking the time to clearly explain all my options?right down to the trim used on the new microwave shelf. No task was too big or small?he treated each one with equal care. And any extra work (outside of the contract) was always detailed in writing in an invoice so I could clearly see the fees, which were fairly priced. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>I highly recommend A+D renovations for any kind of work you may need in your home. I look forward to having Dennis and his team back in my home for another project someday. </p> <p> <br /> <br /></p> <br />

-Removed sagging 6? x 17? enclosed porch and disposed of all <br /> debris. Everything except the porch floor was removed on day #1. <br /> -Concrete work: installed four 10? diameter sauna tubes and <br /> shored up the bulkhead walls using poured concrete and structured steel. <br /> -Built 6?x 17? addition. Installed 1 exterior door with a <br /> deadbolt lock, 1 very solid storm door, and 6 Low -E vinyl insulated windows <br /> (made in Maine). Exterior siding matches the house, the addition is fully <br /> insulated, sheetrocked, trimmed, and completely finished. Painting was not <br /> included. They installed a combination of tile and bamboo flooring. <br /> We purchased the tile and bamboo. <br /> -On the addition: they ran wiring and installed 3 lighting <br /> fixtures: 2 interior and 1 exterior. We purchased the lights. They installed 3 <br /> outlets, and one double switch. They built entryway steps on the addition, <br /> built entryway steps on the front of the house. They built a solid wood <br /> covering over the bulkhead with siding to match the house, doors over the <br /> entryway, and a bolt that latches inside the bulkhead doors. They repaired the <br /> door into the basement. They also installed an exterior light on the front of <br /> the house. We purchased the light. They <br /> installed flashing on the roof of the main part of the house to minimize ice <br /> dams that form in that spot. <br /> At no point in time were we concerned about the quality of <br /> the work. Several times, Dennis said,? if anything goes wrong, let us know, <br /> we?ll fix it?. We would hire A&D again in a heartbeat. <br /> <br /> <br />

<p>I could tell from my first meeting with Dennis that he is a very knowledgeable professional. He knew how to take care of every aspect of my project without subcontracting. He inspired confidence as we talked over the project and I was delighted that he had the lowest quote. He had some unexpected delays in getting to my project, but he stayed in contact with me and always returned my calls within 24 hours. Dennis and his crew completed my project to my specifications without any problems. Their work is fantastic and their price is reasonable. On top of all of this, Dennis fixed and repointed some cracked bricks on the corner of my buildings foundation for free!</p> <p>I will definitely call Dennis for any future projects and I highly recommend him!</p> <br />
