Repair man showed up on 11/11/19 and refused to provide a written estimate. Twice we asked him to provide a written estimate but kept saying I will give you 10% of an offer by another air conditioning-heater repair co. (Bell Brothers had stated they would charge$900.00 to fix the fan). Later he stated he worked by the hour. Left the premises for some parts but took his time. Finally fixed the unit and turned on the pilot. He charged us $700.00. Unit worked for about an hour until we smelled gas and realized there could be a gas leak in the unit. Called him about problem many times and finally showed up 4 days later. He checked the unit and stated the furnace was old and cost of repairing it would be about another $600.00. Stated it would be best to replace it. We said no. A day later a friend of ours came by and stated the pilot was out. He turned on the pilot and the gas leak problem was solved. Moral of the story is that this business is full of thieves and all these Heating & A-C companies are in it together. They charge about $95.00 just to come and see what the problem is and then they charge whatever they want on top of it. Highway robbery at its best! The Governor and the President can make America great again by cracking down on these crooks!
