The crew that did the work was great. They showed up on time, did quality work, and never left a mess. They even took care to protect the plants that were already growing around the existing deck. The initial estimate was thorough and explained in detail. Had to wait a while for the construction to begin after bid was accepted, but this is understandable with a good, busy crew.

They were just really good. They were punctual, they did a superb job, they held with us when we had troubles with getting a permit with the city because of the boundaries. They did a great job and they just didn't leave us and go to start another job. We had to drop three or four different plans because of the things that happened along the way. But they just did it, got right back to me and so we were just very pleased with him.

Daren Bormann with Advanced Decks had been highly recommended to me to have a deck put on my home. I searched Angie's List and read the reviews. They were A rated so I contaced Daren. He came out to look at the space and to provide me a bid. As this was the first time I had ever had a deck built, I must have asked him at least 100 questions. Daren was able to answer every one of them. As this is what he does, he knew every aspect of deck building and construction. He was even able to assist me in making some decisions that actually saved me money! His crew were amazing. They were prompt and very polite. Each day I came home it was a delight to see how the project was coming along. There was never a mess of debris left in my yard from the days work. I am extremely pleased with the sturdy construction and style. The deck is absolutely gorgeous. As I am having other work done on my home, each contractor that comes to my home comments on the deck and the quality of workmanship. My neighbors are impressed as well. I highly recommend Advanced Decks to everyone! <br />

Both the materials and execution were outstanding. I had received several other bids from top Angies list providers prior to selecting Vince Odneal. He was not the cheapest but was not the most expensive either. I would select this company again in a heart beat. The crew removed our old deck and built a new one in 4 days. The deck easily passed all Leawood inspections. They showed up every morning at 8am and left around 3pm. The crew did an excellent good job cleaning up after themselves everyday and were a pleasure to have in our back yard. I highly recommend them. <br />

I contacted 3 contractors to get bids for this project. One was Advanced Decks, who we selected to do the work, and two other very highly rated contractors on Angie's list for the Kansas City area for deck building. Daren with Advanced Decks was by far the best communicator of the 3 companies. He came out for the bid, and took his time explaining all the options available to us that fit what we wanted to see in our project. He had samples of different decking materials, so it made it much easier for us to visualize and choose what type of materials we wanted to go with. One of the other contractors was very difficult to contact, and ultimately just didn't call us back, and the other contractor's bid visit felt very rushed and he didn't seem like he wanted our business too badly. I'll do separate reviews of those companies as well. <br /> Once we selected Advanced Decks to do our project, Daren and I turned our focus on scheduling the project, and obtaining the building permit from the city of Kansas City, MO. He was very helpful telling me the info I'd need to get the permit from the city. He offered to get the permit for us, for a fee, but I decided it would be good experience for me to do this part myself. Once the permit was issued, our job was scheduled to begin the following Monday morning, only a week after the permit was obtained. <br /> The crew showed up before 7:30AM each day to work on our project. They were friendly, efficient, and listened to my instructions on how I wanted the edging stones laid out, and the river rock to be placed. They cleaned up every day after work was completed. Our project took 4 days to complete, but it probably would have been done in 3 days, the delay being due to the supplier having our decking boards on back-order, and they also delivered the wrong materials on one occasion, none of which was Advanced Deck's fault. The crew re-arranged the construction process to make best use of their time, and the materials they had. <br /> We are very pleased with the outcome of the project. We now have a very nice deck to enjoy, as well as our lower patio being opened up and made to seem larger and more usable due to the suggested re-design of where the stairs land by Daren during the evaluation and bidding process. We did have one of the decking boards that was slightly defective, that I noticed a few days after construction was completed. Again, no fault of Advanced Decks. Daren was able to have the board warrantied through the supplier, and they replaced it free of labor charge for me, even though I had said I would pay for the labor and a new board if necessary. That's top notch customer service, and it was greatly appreciated. <br /> I would highly recommend Advanced Decks to anyone, and we will definitely use them for any future projects!

Our house needed repair once the old deck was taken down and they were able to repair our home as well. They did an excellent job and it looked beautiful. They put siding on our home where the deck was removed they also added a beautiful deck. They are very reliable and professional. They provided pictures from previous jobs and they are very organized. They showed up on time and completed the job when they said they would.
