When the job was started, the contractor, Jermie England, did not have all the parts ordered. After one day of demo, Jermie requested the 2nd of 3 payments. The contract stated that the half bathroom was to be completed before the 2nd payment. He did not come back until we paid him. The project continued on where the work was done a few days and then there would a longer time frame before someone came back to work. After 2 months (of which someone was here only 22 days), the two bathrooms that were started were not completely done...still had hardware to add to the vanities and replace a fan. We ended up doing these ourselves. Jermie was not good at communicating...if I asked questions, he was defensive and did not like that I was "questioning" him. He finally came to meet with us and told us his company declared bankruptcy and could not finish the job as Affordable Home Services. He stated that he had formed a new company, and we would have to make another contract to finish the master bathroom. We started questioning him about what we had already paid, and he promptly left our house. Overall, the work was average. And we have to get another contractor to complete the job.

Custom cabinet took two months to be delivered and the pull out drawer touched the floor when pulled out of cabinet. I personnally replaced the entire slider mechanism to make it work. Faucet was high quality and worked fine. Pull out drawers were mis-ordered with no resolution other than "too bad".

I purchased the tile back splash job offered on October 23. No one called me, so after a few days, I gave them a call to check in and schedule. The guy on the phone confirmed for me that they were in receipt of the work order and told me that he would "call him" ( I expect he meant his sub) and that someone would call me in "a day or two" to set it up. Still nothing. Beginning to think I was robbed. They may well be busy, but there is no excuse for the lack of a phone call/scheduling or some explanation. They've been paid already and I should have to now chase them to perform the service. They clearly have too much work. So much for Angie's List.

Work came in as estimated. Owner was professional, arrived when scheduled, work completed as promised. Overall very pleased with the work performed and would definitely use their services again. They even went above and beyond to assist me with a minor unscheduled repair.

They painted our kitchen, foyer, living room (very high ceilings), one bedroom, and the master bath. They painted the walls, all trim, ceilings, and doors in those rooms. They were on time everyday and very professional! They covered everything we had in our home so nothing got dust or paint on it. You keep everything thats hanging on the walls that you want up, they take it down for you and hang it back where you had it. They patched all holes that weren't being used and fixed all the drywall work. All three of the men were extremely nice and made me feel very comfortable leaving the house everyday. I came home when they were finished and everything was back on the walls and everything was very clean. Even if it was just painting, they did a great job and I will hire them again in the future for any projects we have!

I am a property manager for a non-profit that rents single family homes to people with disabilities. Jermie, came to our aid quickly and responded to an emergency situation. AHS work was very good. They are experienced and gave us a good price. However, when trying to approve a new project, I asked for more details on the quote to I could figure the cost per square foot for flooring replacement. Jermie was offended by additional questions about his quote. He told me he no longer wanted to do work for our organization and hung up on me. My co-worker said I was not being harsh or offensive. I was just needing more info to get my boss' approval. If you are a good people person, maybe you can handle him better than I did. But it was a very strange response to reasonable questions. I don't know about you, but we ask questions on a 14K bid.

"Thanks for the review.. We responded to your call the same day like we always did with the other 2 projects we did for your company. You sent a detailed list of what you wanted a quote on. I provided exactly what you wanted also. Then you sent me an email stating that you wanted more info. So i called you on the phone and you said well we deal with a lot of other contractors sir and i know the pricing. the whole reason this company used me was because the other contractor did horrible work to begin with and I was out there fixing all there problems. If it would have been done right the first time they would have never needed to call me.. So when she made that comment it hit me the wrong way.. So i declined to do any more work for them.. Then she says well im going to put a review on Angies list then.. I said mam we did the other work for you on 2 other homes over 2 months ago and you never left a review that I had asked you to do... I try my best with every customer to go above and beyond for everyone some customers you cant make happy no matter what...Some companies like theres wants the project done for pennies and thats why they was geting me to repair all the other contractors work... Also to take note.. They run handicap facilities for the not so fortunate people. I also filled a claim on how there workers was treating the patients.."

We called Affordable Home Servives from an Angie's list referral booklet, best call we ever made. We needed to get our house in show ready condition to sell and all the guys made it happen in two days! New flooring, new vanity installation, smoothing out walls, garbage disposal install, 2 new ceiling fans & new door installs. No small feat. Courteous, quick, professional, efficient, and great at what they do. We'd hire them again and again.

I am very happy I found Affordable to work on our home. All of the staff is very polite, prompt and hard workers. Our carpet looks great that they were able to lay for us with short notice. They are finishing up being here for 3 days while working on our older home- it looks amazing! They have painted, touched up drywall issues, fixed ceilings and replaced trim. <br /> I highly recommend Affordable for any of your home needs- they are a great crew and definitely know what they are doing. I plan on using them for other projects in the near future.

5 Star services were incredible! So fast, very quick to respond about my questions, and extremely helpful throughout the entire process. They went the extra mile to make my bathroom look amazing, and had great suggestions for the tile in the kitchen and bath. There was a lot of attention to detail throughout, especially in the bathroom. They started the project quicker than I expected and finished earlier than I expected. <br /> <br /> The bathroom in particular needed a lot of extra work, and they had to redo a lot of the drywall around where the old shower tile was. They did this without charging me extra, and it looks like a brand new bathroom. <br /> <br /> I also can't stress how responsive they were. I worked with Jermie who kept my informed on each day's progress, particularly if he found anything awry with the areas they were working on. He was great! <br /> <br /> The cost pushed my budget a little, but for the quality of work and professionalism throughout, I wish I had a little extra to bring them back to do more! I would definitely hire them again and tell others about their work. This is my first house and also one of my first experiences with flooring or anything, and I was really impressed. <br /> <br />

I had doubts to start that this house . Meet with Jermie the owner of 5 star he told me it would be like a new house. But when I looked at the house I had doubts. But after the completion it was 150% more of what I could dream that the house would look better he would tell me.. 5 Star totally renovated my home. From painting, To Flooring to building a custom deck....I would highly Recommend 5 Star to anyone... <br />

The sloppiest work I have ever seen! Paint runs; didn't sand, missed complete sections of the front of house. Pointed out missed places and Jermie England told me they only did (1) coat on exteriors. None of the Five Star crew used painter's tape to achieve straight lines or clean up their paint spills. I told him over and over how I wanted it done, but he kept telling me I didn't pay to have it done that way. <br /> He claimed he had an expert carpenter to perform the construction of the laundry room. Not only was he not an expert but the work he performed had to be torn out twice to correct the uneven surfaces, sloppy craftsmanship and painting. It appears he only spent about $100.00 on materials but claimed he only purchased the best wood available then charged me 200x the costs. <br /> I got his name from a neighbor who used him to paint the exterior of his home and he was happy, but this guy is not qualified to do any work. In addition, he demanded half payment upfront and then stood and rushed his crew to hurry up and finish so he could get the 2nd half payment without any regard to the actual services being completed correctly. <br /> I would never recommend him to anyone. He was argumentative, inappropriate and a complete price gouger! <br />

"Well this review doesn't surprise me at all. I've been in business for over 19 years and it took me that long to find a customer like this. First let me just say she is correct about she seen our company across the street and performing work for them Exterior at that.. She said wow you all do great work please give me an estimate.. So i did and when i was going over the prices all she did was talk Horrible about her neighbors. That was concealing but i gave her the quote and she agreed on the price.I did make her pay 50% down because there was over 2000 dollars in material needed. Plus didn't feel that comfortable about her talking about her neighbors. So we came and started on a Saturday on the laundry room and we came back that Sunday to finish because she was in a rush to get it done so we tried to do it on a weekend and on fathers day weekend also. 100% Birch wood was used on her job. She liked it so much she had us paint her cabinets in the kitchen and also paint her front door. Her exterior looked great we used emerald paint by sherwin williams its the best paint they carry also.. She wanted the same color so one coat is all that was needed and i explained that to her and she agreed. We stained her concrete floor with 3 different colors and she said wow you guys are (artist). So when it came down to collect final payment she never answered her phone or anything then she sent me an email saying she wasnt happy.. I'm now taking her to court for non payment and for slander on my company.. I'm not perfect at all and we do about 30 homes a month but never in my life have i ever had a customer like this.... Please don't let this review affect your decision on my company please just be your own judge and look at my history on angies list and all the other sites thanks..."
