It went fine. They removed double sliding patio doors, replaced all wheels on doors and installed new track on bottom. Old track was so bent we could barely move the doors. They now glide easily. At first they were noiseless, but a couple of weeks later they got a little noisy, although they still glide smoothly. This may have been due to pressure put on the door when we later had a safety laminate put on the glass. I wish I'd done it years ago, as the struggle to open & close them was really annoying.
We initially planned to replace the doors, but they're 60 years old, no one makes them any more and it would have cost many thousands of dollars to replace. We're quite happy.
I contacted Affordable Sliding Door Repair and explained my situation. I was given two options - I could either make an appointment to have someone come out to analyze the problem, or I could send pictures of the broken handle and eliminate the need for me to take time off work. I sent pictures and received a response within minutes. ASDR called to confirm that they had the handle in their inventory, and make an appointment to come out and do the repair. The cost was only a fraction of what I thought I was going to have to pay to get the work done. The customer service was spectacular - I felt like I was dealing with a member of my family and not an unknown contractor.
Do not have any hesitation in contracting with ASDR to perform work on your home. This company really knows how to please a client. You will not be disappointed!
Everything went very smoothly! They came right out and took measurements on the day I called. They got right back to me with an acceptable estimate. They had the doors ready for delivery and installation well within the promised time frame. The installation person arrived at the promised time. The doors fit perfectly and they were installed quickly. Could not have asked for better service.
I initially called to replace one sliding closet door panel and to adjust 2 closets with older tracks and doors that kept falling off. The first crew that came measured and photographed the panel to be replaced, and manipulated the other closets a bit to get them back on track. Unfortunately, the closets needed a bit more repair to get them back to normal working condition. When I spoke with the office to confirm order of my replacement panel, I explained that the closets still needed to be adjusted. A couple of weeks later the panel had arrived and was ready to be installed. The owner came to install the panel himself, and did the adjustment I needed on the other closets. This was not a big job, nor a difficult one, and I really appreciated him coming himself to see how he could remedy my problem. He certainly wanted to be sure I was happy with their service. Their pricing was more than fair, and I would definitely call them again if I have any need for sliding doors.
Our house was built in a factory in the late 60s. Over time, dry rot to the door sills caused them to sag, to the point where the tops of the doors were just barely in the upper channels. Affordable came out, provided a reasonable estimate for the repairs. We accepted their estimate. They showed up when they said they would and over the period of two days effected the repairs cited above. They also installed new steel wheels on the doors and protected the new sill plates with flashing and caulking. We were very pleased with the entire process

I emailed them on Friday. They called me Friday evening and set an appointment for Monday at 11 AM. They gave me an estimate, and I asked them how fast they could start. They were able to have a crew back that day. Three hours later, ALL of the windows in my house that hadn't worked for years, now worked as if they were new. WHY DID I WAIT ALL THESE YEARS???
Our sliding glass door became a beast! It was so hard to slide, we avoided using it. I called around to the other vendors on Angie's List, as well as those on the internet. Affordable Sliding Door gave the best price (& then took $10 off of that price, honoring their Angie's List coupon.) They were available the next day but we weren't able to work that into our schedule. So, they came early the next week, on time, as scheduled. Our door now works perfectly & we were so satisfied, that I just called them back to schedule an appointment for our son's home -- who has been suffering a long time with his beastly sliding door. DON'T SUFFER WITH A DEFECTIVE SLIDING GLASS DOOR! The $165 price makes this repair a must!
Our patio sliding glass door was becoming so difficult to open that I decided to include it as part of my daily exercise program. After reading the positive reviews on Angie's List and checking out the contractors license number, I decided to call Affordable Sliding Door Repair. Bruce and his helper arrived on scheduled time and were polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. They replaced the plastic rollers with steel ball bearing rollers, cleaned and lubricated the track and repaired the sliding screen door without an extra charge. Now I can open the sliding doors with my little finger (back to lifting weights)! Would definitely highly recommend Affordable Sliding Dopor Repair!

Bruce came and looked at the sliding door. It has been in place since 1952 (when house was built) and no longer hung straight and the sliding track (up inside the wall) needed to be replaced as the door was extremely hard to close. We also needed to be able to lock the door when we go to bed and the usual locks for sliders (pocket doors) are pretty anemic. Bruce suggested a solution that we immediately liked. When he returned about a week later he removed the door and replaced the sliding track, first removing a bit of wallboard to allow access to the track. After reinstalling the door on the new track, he adjusted the door so that it closes smoothly and hangs absolutely straight and fits snugly against the door jamb. Then he removed the door frame trim piece and installed a narrow four-foot high piece of steel behind the trim. When the trim is replaced the steel is hidden. Then he drilled a 1/2 inch hole through the trim, the steel and into the framing of the door opeing. He provided us with an 8-inch steel dowel that can be slid into the hole (when the slider is closed) and the door cannot be opened from the other side. It doesn't even move - it makes us feel as if we have our own "safe room" in the house. This is way better than any lock we looked at and we are very satisfied with the new arrangement.

I got Affordable Sliding Door Repair's number from another Angie's List vendor since we live outside his service area. We had a hard time getting a date to do the work due in part to my schedule. But, once we were scheduled everything was golden. Bruce (the owner) showed up at the appointed time and quickly explained what they were going to do and that if they could fix the doors the price was $125 and if they had to replace the tracks etc. then the price would be $400. Before they would proceed to the more expensive option, I would have a decision point. In short order, they took off the moldings around the pocket, pulled the door out and found a "wet paint" sign that had come loose from the door the last time I had it painted and gotten lodged in the pocket. First problem fixed. Moldings went back on and, apart from the finish nails (nicely countersunk) I couldn't tell that the moldings had ever come off. The second door was more of a problem as it had warped. Bruce moved the bottom track to make the door work better and, voila! my doors were in perfect order again at a cost of $250! As they were working I asked about the scope of their services and found out that they could also repair bi-fold doors. For $50 more, I now have two closet doors that actually open and close. Great work, very polite and tidy -- not a scrap of paint, dust or dirt was left behind. I have 9 pocket doors in my house. You know I got Bruce's card for future reference.

We remodeled our home 6 years ago and had a custom French, wood, double-pane sliding door installed. Very heavy. About one week ago, we noticed that it seemed to have "dropped" and would barely slide open. We had to use both hands to open and close the door, and we use it about twice as much as our front door. I thought there was little chance of finding the right repair service who specialized in fixing this type of door, but I was wrong! I first called a handyman service on Angie's List who quoted $169 minimum for the first hour, $169/hour thereafter. Seemed reasonable. I then called Affordable and spoke with Jennifer (Bruce's wife). She quoted $200 flat (less Angie's List 10% discount) which included repair, adjustment, lube and a 2 year warranty on the repair. Jennifer gave me a great deal of confidence that Bruce had the expertise to fix it correctly. My husband and I agreed it was smarter to spend a little more with a company that specialized in this repair. We were lucky enough to set up an appointment for the following Saturday morning. Bruce showed up early with an apprentice/assistant. Bruce is cordial, friendly and efficient. Even though he seemed to be directing his assistant through the repairs, there was never a time when I felt he wasn't involved in the process. I was sitting in an adjacent room and watched the entire repair. They replaced the rollers pretty quickly and reinstalled the door. But, Bruce wasn't satisfied with the way it was rolling, so they worked at adjusting it until it was perfect. They finished up and had me test it. Overall, the door works BETTER than when it was first installed! I realize now that it probably could have used repair a few years ago. Family members are shocked by how easy it is to open and close (we have to "relearn" how to open it with less force!). From start to finish, it was great service. My husband urged me to submit a positive report for Bruce, and he's not often impressed. Thanks Bruce and Jennifer! Great job. Will use this service again.

Jenifer carefully explained their service on the telephone. Bruce and a helper came out the next day. I watched them work and all was efficient. Twenty-three years of roller wear and building settling was corrected in an hour of work. Wish I would have called them years earlier.

I got them through Angie's List. My sliding door was kind of stuck so they got it up the rail, put a new rail and put the door back on. They did a good job. They were done in about no time at all. Their price was okay. They were efficient and prompt. They told me that they were going to be thirty minutes late and that's exactly how it was. They were good and I'm very pleased that I used Angie's List.

Great service and great prices. I got a competing offer that did not include windows and it was 3X more expensive. I don't know how they could have done a better job than they did. The job took two days and the doors and windows both work great.

The service call was made and within a day the technicians were here (their office called to ask if the next day would work with our schedule, as they had a service call in the area). They were prompt, worked quickly, explained what to use in the future to resolve the problem; they were very, very clean during the repairs, cleaning up all residue.
The lock on one of our sliding glass doors was not working. Bruce found the problem right away--cracked wheels on the bottom of the door. It cost $175 to replace them, and the door now locks and is opening and closing much easier. We also had another sliding door that had water seeping in between the double panes of the window. It was a Fleetwood window, which he replaced for $325. While he was here, he checked all the other sliding glass windows in our house--we have a lot--and said they didn't need any maintenance or repairs. He was very honest and knowledgable. I would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

I've had trouble with a sliding glass door for years. I finally called Affordable Glass. They came promptly and discovered that the door had rollers that were suitable for a light closet door. They replaced the rollers and fixed the track. Now the door rolls without any problem. I wish I had called them 10 years ago.
