AFFORDABLE TREE CARE

Kevin was great! He was professional, on-time and did an excellent job! He arrived at 8 am and removed my tree in a couple of hours. He ground-down the stump, cleaned up all the debris and was reasonably priced. I looked at Davey Tree and another tree service and they each quoted a few hundred dollars more than Affordable Tree Care. I definitely recommend Kevin and would use his service again!

A large tree in front of my home was severely damaged in a storm, with the rest of the tree threatening to topple onto my house. The owner of the company personally came out to remove the tree the very same day, eliminated the most dangerous part of the tree that evening before nightfall, and came back the next morning to finish the job.

We have received quotes from other two companies (Precision and Big Twigs) and none of them gave such a great deal (Precision and Big Twigs were way overpriced) and level of attention at initial assessment as Kevin! You know from the very beginning that there are years of experience behind him and he knows what he is doing. He is very professional, knowledgable, all the work was done very fast, he always provides suggestions of what is supposed to be done and what not. What we really like about him is that he does everything as if not for us, but for himself, he would say: "I am not doing this for you, but for myself!" - and this is so seen in his work and level of attention. On top of all, Kevin even helped us with our extensive landscaping needs, so we don't need to find anyone else! We are very happy that we did not hesitate to hire Kevin based on +ve reviews here.

Kevin arrived at 7:45 a.m. and worked non-stop until after 2:30 p.m. He cut down several trees, ground-down stumps, and removed all debris. He did an excellent job. The next day I noticed a couple of small trees were still standing. Unfortunately, I did not communicate clearly that those trees should have been removed. I called Kevin the next morning and requested that he return to remove them. He advised me he was getting ready to go on vacation to the U.P. Even though he was on his way to leave for vacation, he immediately came over and removed the trees. Thank you, Kevin, for your kindness and consideration.

Great. Removed down tree and then other trees start to lean towards house. Promptly came and removed 3 additional trees!

He was very responsive, courteous and his prices were good (they beat Big Triggs and Davey Tree Expert Co by quite a bit), and he was always very professional.

The job went very quickly and ahead of schedule

Kevin did a great job. He was quick to respond to my original request for a quote and did the work a week later. Regarding a tree he removed, the remaining stump was extracted, he graded the remaining earth nicely and applied grass seed. Looks great.

The removal of the tree and stump grinding went very well. They did a nice job cleaning up after the work was completed and the price seemed fair. The back yard was a little beat up afterwards, but I guess that should be expected when a Bobcat is driving back and forth across the lawn. My only complaint is how payment was handled. The company's advertisement on Angie's includes a coupon and the ability to use a credit card for payment. Neither was true. The owner said he wouldn't accept the coupon because he quoted a good price to get the job. When my wife tried to pay with a credit card, he said he doesn't accept them, even though the receipt indicates payment can be made by credit card. Bottom line: Good execution of the job, but business practices seem questionable.

They used the chainsaw and other tools expertly to address the issues.  They cleaned-up all branches, debris and other crap.  This is my second time using Affordable Tree Care and I would highly recommend them for your tree care/removal needs.

The service was prompt and professional, at a fair price.  All of the tree materials were removed, and the yard was cleaned up so that you wouldn't know they had been there.  I have used Affordable Tree Service before, and would use them again

Very happy with service. Quick easy o come by and provide an estimate. Competitive price and were able to complete the job the following day. Job was done very cleanly with minimal damage to the surrounding area

They were tremendous organized during the entire process, did exactly what I requested, and their price was the best of Angie's top rated contractors.  The other contractors wanted $300 and Affordable Tree Service charged me $195.  Thank you Kevin for a great job, price, and post job clean-up.  Ralph S. <br />

Impeccable service! Kevins machines all pulled into my backyard (large trucks) but left NO tire marks in my grass. He custom designed the rigs to be easy on your lawn. The walnut was trimmed and looks excellent. The sasafrass tree was removed, and the wood piled up just as I asked. Not one leaf or twig was left on my lawn. When it comes to providers that really care about customer service, Affordable Tree Care is at the top of my list. Top notch service! I refer them to any one who asks for a tree service and will use them in the future for all related services. <br />

Overall the work went well. what i did not like was, 1) when he came to my house for quote, i asked him specifically if the shrubs and trees can be taken out with out damaging the plants and shrubs that surrounds them to which he said YES. but thats not how it went. he let tree fall on top of the shrubs bending them. there were plants they got deformed too. when i asked him to be careful, his response was " what do you want me to do", that was rude and i did not want to get into an arguement. 2) i also requested him to give me a call at least 20-30 minutes before arrival but he called my when he was barely 2 minutes from my house the day the service was performed. 3) when he gave me a verbal quote, we talked about what shrubs needed to be taken out. On the day of the service, he almost did not take out some that was agreed upon. I had to point him so he does not miss it. I am glad i was able to reach there ( little late ) when the job was being performed. 4) All the quotes given to be were verbal and there was nothing in written, this was different from people i have used before and thats why i wanted to be there when the job was being done. He also asked for only cash because of the small job which was ok with me. Overall he did a decent job and cleaned up but will not use him again. I ended up giving the big job to somebody else. <br /> <br />

Kevin is really, really smart about trees.  He showed me some things to keep an eye on with some of my trees - and only performed work on the ones that really needed it (which I appreciated from a money perspective).  He earned my trust with his honesty.  He cleaned up after his work.  Overall, it was a great experience. <br />

Kevin, the owner of Affordable Tree Care, returned my call and arrived at my home in less than two hrs from the time of my original call.  This was excellent response time. <br /> I called 5 other tree services, left messages and other than Kevin, only one of them returned my call. <br /> A major limb of one of my maple trees acquired a sudden 2-3 foot split lengthwise in the limb.  This limb is about 25-30 feet overhead and above both my electrical and cable service drops.  If the limb had broken off it would have landed on those two service drops and may have caused a real major emergency. <br /> Kevin and one crew member arrived bright and early the next morning and within 3 hours had the two trees trimmed, branches chipped, and everything cleaned up.   <br /> One of the extraordinary things about Kevin was the professional tree trimming harness, roping and foot gear he used which is so different than other tree trimmers.  He told me he had retired from a major tree trimming company and really liked this kind of work.  It showed in everything he did. <br /> As a customer, I cannot ask for more than to hire someone that delivers an excellent product or service, on time, and within my budget. <br /> Kevin is a real professional at a very AFFORDABLE price and really knows TREE CARE. <br /> He also treats his customers with dignity and respect.  What more could we ask for? <br /> Thank you "Kevin" for being there when I needed you. <br /> And thank you too "Angie's List" for being here for all of us homeowners.

Said he would be at my house first thing Monday morning and he was. Worked very fast and picked up lose branches and racked up leaves. Could not tell I had 2 trees removed. Would hire them again. Excellent job.

Pros: Job was performed quickly and well.   <br /> Cons: The work atmosphere was unsettling as Kevin was very angry and yelling at his assistants though out the day.  If I had children around, I would have asked him to leave and hired someone else to finish. <br /> There was damage to the lawn even after Kevin made a point of insisting that he would not leave machine lawn damage. <br /> <br /> <br />

A  storm blew through and we had tree branches down. I called a number of Angie's List tree removers Saturday morning and Kevin was the first to call back, we set up an appointment for Sunday Morning. I had another company come out Saturday for an estimate but they were a lot more money. Kevin showed up early, cut up the branches and hauled them away. <br />
