"I quoted this member $75/hr for two cleaning techs to clean his home for a Move-Out Cleaning. I gave him a rough estimate over the phone of four to six hours for a Move-Out clean and that is on average. I said that "You are looking at around $300 to $450 for your cleaning." He said, he would have to give me a call back. He called me not five minutes later to schedule. He said he will put it on a credit card. We do charge a 5% fee for the convenience of using credit cards as it is even described on the actual work order. Now that being said; I did show up with two other cleaning techs for his place. His wife was aware that three techs showed up and that the rate was $115/hour. His wife signed off on the work before we started and his father in law signed off on after we completed the work because she needed to leave. The member is upset because he wants to only pay for two techs for three hours. I tried to reason with him over the phone that if I only sent out two cleaning techs that they would have been there a lot longer than three hours. I told him that it was to his advantage that three techs came instead because we have more physical energy. Two techs would have taken them an easy five and half hours. Let's say it did take them five hours for arguments sake. That is $375 plus he paid with a credit card and that is an additional 5% which the total now is $393.75. So I actually saved him more than $30 on this cleaning minimum. Please keep in mind we clean inside all cabinetry inside and out, windows, bathrooms, kitchen inside all appliances and move them out to clean sides and floors underneath and more! The members wife even seen me remove all shelving and drawers and cleaned the fridge out to its shell because she stated that this place had pests and that there were some coming from the fridge and she was right. I did see some coming out of the rubber seams of the fridge. That fridge definitely needed to be gutted. She also wanted screened in back porch to be cleaned. We worked as fast yet as efficiently as humanly possible. They seen the work we did and the wife and her father were pleased. They even gave a good report to the member. I have been in this business since 2005 and I have never ever once been called a lying snake by any means. It was the first time by this member. If you see he has left two F reviews on our profile. It is not in my power if the members wife did not communicate to him the cleaning techs that arrived and the new price adjustment that she signed off on. This member wanted me to live up to the $75/hr price range with the four to six hour estimate. He also wants me to charge him $75/hr for the three hours that we did. I am not an unreasonable business owner but please tell me if you think that is fair? He threatened that if I did not adjust the price that he was going to leave a nasty review about me on Angie's List. He did not give me time to adjust the price because he hung up on me after he said that. He called and left a message afterwards and said that he was going to report my charges as totally fraudulent and that he was going to get all his money back. He refuses to pay for our services. So he gets a beautifully clean and sparkling home without having to pay for it. The power "very few" people use to threaten businesses to try and save a few dollars through review based websites is unfortunate. I made sure everything was done the way it should have been done from the paperwork down to the perfectly clean home we left the member. Thank you for taking the time to read both sides.
