Ordered the $39 inspection deal online. Provider initially <br /> suggested a July 4th date which was fine for me but seemed a little odd. A <br /> couple of days later the provider requested another date as now could not do the 4th. That <br /> was fine, I setup over the phone an appointment for July 11th at 9am. Took off <br /> work and awaited the appointment. At 9:15 I called to find out where the person <br /> was as it was gone 9am. Was told I didn't have an appointment scheduled.... I <br /> recanted the conversation I had with the provider and was told I was correct <br /> and they had not transferred the appointment to some other calendar. I was then <br /> told they could have someone over within an hour. The person showed and <br /> confirmed my fears that the compressor had failed and that it was not worth <br /> replacing it as it would not be cost effective. I said ok and asked what would <br /> it cost to get a new system given the other Angie list deals they have on <br /> offer. I was told he would let the office know and get me a call back/quote <br /> on what that would cost (doubted it would happen given no other inspection of <br /> the internal equipment was done at that time). Here I am 7/21 and still no <br /> estimate for a replacement unit and no aircon in my home. <br /> <br /> <br />

I was very impressed. I'd particularly note John's knowledge and creativity. After having two furnace servicers tell me there was nothing to be done, John kept going with the old one and was able to get it working. At less than what I had been charged to tell me it was impossible. Unfortunately, that only worked for less than a week and we went on to replace the furnace and put in a new chimney liner. <br /> But I was very happy with the service. <br />

He correctly diagnosed the problem (a fan controller board problem).   He couldn't get it quickly enough, but recommended a source where I was able to get it more quickly.  John was prompt and professional. <br />

John went "above and beyond" in installing the new A/C system.  He fixed mistakes made by the previous contractor when the old A/C was installed years ago.  He even came up with a creative idea to disguise the pipes/lines running along the side of my house to the condenser, it looks so much better!  And, as promised, the condenser is quiet.  <br /> John cares about doing a job correctly and pleasing the customer.  In fact, he tested my furnace and discovered a problem with the gas line and immediately called the gas company to come over and followed up with me afterwards. <br /> I won't hesitate to call on him again the next time I need work done. <br />

I called John from Ajax to inspect my furnace as it had been "red <br /> tagged-do not use" by another company and I wanted another opinion from a <br /> local provider.  He was very knowledgeable and professional on the <br /> phone, and came on time.  He thoroughly inspected the furnace, and used a <br /> camera scan to look at the heat exchange that had been diagnosed as <br /> cracked by another H&C company.  He spent close to an hour with me, <br /> told me that there was no crack (hurrah) and also gave other pointers on <br /> what could improve furnace performance.  He did not try to sell me anything and did not charge me for the visit.  He also suggested that if I doubted his diagnosis of  no problem,  that I could call Consumers Energy and have them come out to verify.  <br /> Am planning on having him improve some poorly installed duct work,  and will not hesitate to call Ajax for my heating and cooling needs as I have two furnaces and two air conditioners.  <br />
