Peak performance

It was good. They have done it in a timely manner and that's the thing I like most about them. I have used them since then and everything cost a different price. I think the pricing is good. Being close to them is the best part of them.

Brian was great. He called when he was delayed and arrived at the new time when he said he would. He inspected the roof and determined that squirrels had chewed and damaged the lead flashing around the chimney leading to water running down a rafter. He did a repair with silicone to make certain it would not leak and scheduled a time for them to come back to do a permanent repair. <br />

<p>He came in a lot less in price than other companies and he was able to come within my budget. There were 7 crew members and they were able to get the job done in one day and they cleaned up well after themselves. He showed up with all the appropriate equipment. The work was done to my satisfaction and they were very professional during the appointment. This was is only roofer I will use. </p>

This was ideal.  The men were polite, on time, and their work was great.  I really cant stress enough what a pleasant experience this was for us.  The next door neighbors were so impressed, they walked over and hired them to do their roof! <br /> <br />

We have used this firm before  and found them to be excellent--responsive, courteous, priced fairly, and they do an excellent job. <br /> They arrive prepared to do the job, and when finished, do a great cleanup.Time estimates for the job were spot on.  They give quality for price and we find them well worth it. <br />

Andy picked up right away when I called to ask if he could take a look at my roof which had developed a tiny leak the night before. He said he could come out the very same day. When he arrived a few hours later he told me the roof was in good shape and should last another 7 years or so (the roof is 20 years old). The leak was being caused by a pipe boot which had deteriorated. He told me he'd get back to me later in the day with an estimate to replace the boots as well as to clean moss which had grown in a few areas. He ended up calling back a few hours later to say he could come out and replace the boots in an hour (he could schedule the roof cleaning within the next few weeks). So by the end of the day on the day I called he made the repair. He carefully explained what had to be done and how to do it properly and thought to use extra shingles I had stored in the basement. He was extremely nice, courteous, prompt and professional. He provided top notch service. I would use them again in a heartbeat. <br />

Brian came out for the estimate as promised. Came back the next day and did the work promptly - couldn't ask for better! <br />

job went well, finished in 2 days. andy was very knowlegable and <br /> is quite meticulous. we had a flat roof on a portion of house and added <br /> a membrane roof at no additional cost. price was competitive with other estamates <br /> and the cleanup went very well. would definatly hire again. <br />

A & J provided terrific service at a competitive price.  <br /> Brian, our contact, was responsive to our questions and honest with his answers. <br /> The work crew led by Jay was efficient, well managed, polite, clean and thoughtful. <br /> Having heard so many horror stories about roofers we were exceptionally diligent about finding a good one, and we think we accomplished that goal.

I keep forgetting to log in and review these guys, but their repair to my roof has been thoroughly tested by the weather now. No more leak!  <br /> They were incredibly professional and very accommodating. We worked together via phone and email because I work in CT. I never actually met them in person although my husband met the workmen who did the repair. It may seem weird but with my schedule doing it this way was SO much easier for me. I'm glad it worked for them too.  <br /> The only negative thing I can say about these guys is that they didn't contact me once they received my deposit. I had to call them and make sure everything was all set and to find out when they were coming. But once I was in contact with them again everything went smoothly. <br /> <br /> <br />

Very responsive to initial inquiry.  Professional estimate, thoroughly done, unlike others who merely glanced at roof from ground level.  They were a bit beyond the 3-4 week window they gave me for getting the work done but that was due to weather.  Completed roof in one day.  Immaculate clean up. <br />

Overall I was happy with the work performed, the roof looks good, doesn't leak and they did a good job with cleanup. This was one of the few companies that actually returned my calls and showed on time for an estimate. <br />There was a drenching rain the day before the work was performed which made the ground soft and they did a reasonable job of protecting my lawn while moving their trailer around to collect debris, which I was happy with. <br />

Arrived 7:30, played radio and fooled around alot. But both roofs were done 2pm. Neglected to put my property back in place.

, They were efficient, competent and finished the job perfectly in a little under a day and a half.   What else could you ask for. <br />

I called A&J for an estimate and someone came over the next day.  He took a few minutes to put it together and gave me an estimate right then and there.  I only got two estimates and this was the lowest.  he said it would only take a half a day.  he also said it would be three to four weeks before they could do it.  Sure enough three to four weeks later they called and said they would be there the next day a 7:30 AM.  They arrived on time and within three hours they had taken off the old roofing fixed the wood underneath, replaced the damaged wood on the side, installed flashing and some kind of under-sheeting and put the shingles on and cleaned everything up so that would would never know they had been there.  And they did a very good job.  I love my new roof.

We called A&J because we had a leak in the attic.  When Brian came to do the estimate, he noticed that the chimney was in dire need of repair.  He bid the job to repair both problems.  We were told the work would be done in 3-5 weeks.  During the fourth week, we were contacted and given one day notice that the work would begin.  Two men came and completed the work in about three hours.  The roof was still leaking with the next rain storm.  Brian agreed to send the crew back.  It was another ten days or so before they returned.  Not finding a specific leak, the crew sealed an area that might be causing the problem.  We were  told that a more extensive repair would be needed if the roof continued to leak.

Brian was our initial contact , giving us a proposal to tear off and re-roof our house and attached garage.  He explained the process, materials to be used, roof preparation, roof system, shingles and warranty. He was in regular contact regarding start time and was most helpful in providing information regarding our defective shingles. When the job was completed, he returned to check the property.  Jay, who was in charge of our re-roofing and crew, was also most helpful.  The crew was great. <br /> Although the project was done later than expected due to the hurricane and "Ocsnowber" storm, the crew arrived on Tues. 1/24/12 and completed the work before noon on 1/25/12 in an efficient, neat, and professional manner.

The job went really well.  I dealt mostly with Andy's crew chief, Brian who was straight forward and always responsive.  When Brian quoted the cost he took a deposit and said they  were about 6 weeks out before the job could commence.   Due to the amazing amount of rain we had this Fall we fell behind a slight bit.  Brian always kept me informed by email as to the situation and when I could expect the job to begin.  He arrived at 7:30 AM last Friday with a large crew that stripped off 3 old roofs, installed new skylights and applied a new roof finishing everything up by 5:00PM.  The crew, to a man, was courteous and professional.  They spread tarps over all of my gardens and bushes and left the yard as clean as they found it.  <br /> <br /> When the job was finished Andy stopped by to make sure that everything was OK.  I wouldn't hesitate to use him and his great crew again.

great!  their estimate came in $500 less than another company that wanted to do a lot more to our roof to fix it.  We anticipate putting on a second floor in a couple of years and plan to replace the roof at that time, so it did not make sense for us to put as much money into our roof now.  They were prompt and easy to talk to.  After someone came to the house to fix it the first time we still had a couple smaller leaks coming through, so I called them back and could not have had better service.  At no further charge, Brian came back to the house and got back up on the roof to further plug up the leaking sites.  He even thanked me for calling him back, saying it's hard to fix the leaks the first time, since water can get into such small spaces and it's important for him to see the roof when it's wet so he can have a better idea of where the water goes.  After the second visit, no more leaks!

These guys were great! They were there when they said they would be, completed the job on time, and were very professional about it. <br /> <br /> They told us from the beginning that it would take about 3 weeks to get the permits and set up an appointment. In the third week, they called and said they'd be there on Thursday. They did the entire roof in 1 day. The clean up was amazing, you wouldn't have known they were there, except for the brand new roof. Not a nail in sight. At one point during the day, there was a miscommunication in that we wanted a vent added, and the roofer thought we wanted one replaced. He called and advised us that the vent we had selected was too small, but offered to go out and get us the correct one right then and there! He was really willing to go above and beyond. <br /> <br /> The price was fair, and we were really pleased with the work.

After researching roofers on Angie's List, we contacted several roofers for estimates.  A & J seemed to have the most reasonable price and their representatives seemed to be more professional than the others.  We were in contact with them several times as we wanted to be sure we had picked the right roofer as we had heard so many horror stories about inferior roofing work.   The sales representative came over and went over the entire contract with us and changed a couple of the terms, per our request.  It took awhile to actually schedule the job due to a rainy couple of weeks.  A & J showed up on the day appointed and the job was completed in one day.   They did a nice job of cleaning up afterwards.   We requested a small cosmetic change and they took care of that right away.  <br /> <br /> We are happy with our new roof and would recommend A & J. <br /> <br />

Two men came to the house to remove snow from a flat roof. After about 10 minutes of shoveling the entire gutter--a long long gutter--came crashing to the ground. Would it have fallen otherwise, in the spring when the snow melted? Who knows...... ! They did not apologize or suggest that they woud help fix the problem. A month later, I called the same company-- I know: I'm an idiot!-- to help fix an ice dam that was causing a leak in the house. The man said someone would be there "first thing in the morning." No one ever showed--and no one bothered to call. They completely ignored me--after specifically saying they would be there!! I spent hours on a ladder and fixed the problem myself

After three snow storms, ice dams collected along some of the edge of my house causing obvious leak-type damage to an interior wall and a couple of ceilings. I called A & J, and they were incredibly sensitive to my situation and made my house a priority despite their having received many similar calls for roof clearing that day. I was quoted their "usual" charge for such a job, fully expecting a surcharge after the fact since my house is a Victorian and has a high roof with steep angles. They arrived that afternoon and removed all the snow from my roof and broke up the ice dam. The price did not change, despite the precarious nature of the job. I would hire A & J again in a heartbeat for this service (although I hope I won't need to) and intend to call them in the early spring for a quote on the new roof I'd already planned to have installed this year.
