Alamo Door Specialist

Alejandro "Alex" Gonzalez with Alamo Door Specialist was hired through Lowe's to install our front door. He was excessively late and kept saying how great he is at installing doors. He also criticized Lowes and said Home Depot is better. He broke the brick step in two places below our door and said "wouldn't you like it removed?" Um...no. Then "patched" it with caulk. Within 2 days, our door was crooked and hitting the frame as it closed. I have sent multiple messages with pictures. He is refusing to answer or fix the door. There is also a screw that is stripped, and another that is missing. Not only will I NOTP recommend him, I will make sure other's are aware of his bad workmanship and customer service.

I hired Alex to repair some sticky residential doors . On his arrival he sized of the problem and recommended corrective measures. Work was performed with the accuracy ,skill ,efficiency and included a reasonable price to I will surely recommend his fine work to others.

To start I was given a Great price! On the scheduled install date Alex was on time. He explained what the job was going to entail. Great communication skills! Great sense of humor! (it helps for it not to be awkward or tense) Alex did an AWESOME job! I have scheduled his company for an additional job. Recommend him a 100%

He was an hour late to scheduled appointment. Didn't clean up after done, left stickers on doors and didn't put screen door back.

Spurred on by the very poor results we had experienced from two of the national-chain big-box stores, we looked for a highly rated door installer on Angie's list. We were fortunate to find Alamo Door Specialist and to meet Mr. Alex Gonzalez. Our requested door design, illustrated by a screen shot from a random web site, was for a two full size panes of glass sandwiching vertical fully operational blinds. Alex quoted a fair price and then completed both door installations within only one week!

After initial miscommunications, Alex and his brother come to my property and completed the work in a timely, professional manner. They installed 2 doors, cleaned up the debris from the project, and hauled away the old doors as well. Perfect project completion!!!

Alex and his brother did a fine job. Thye arrived on time, worked both quickly and efficiently, and left no mess. Most importantly my wife was very comfortable with them in our house. Both were courteous and even found the time to do some additional, extra work. The finished, installed door looks fantastic and we couldn't be more pleased. I would enthusiastically recommend Alex and his brother for any needed door work.

Overall, Alamo Door Specialist (Alex) did a very good job at a good price, and I would gladly hire them again. Alex did a good job of communicating his needs via text and phone calls. While helping me with my door purchasing options, he let me know that he had a nice door (slightly used) that he could sell me at a reduced price. He did not pressure me at all, but I looked into it and confirmed that it was a good deal (right-hand outswing, primed, white, steel, full-light, with interior mini-blinds for $225). We scheduled the appointment for 10 AM on a Tues. At about 9:45, he let me know that his prior job was taking longer than expected and that he would be late. That was fine. He and his employee arrived at around 11:45 AM. I would have appreciated another text (around, say, 10:30) to let me know how late he'd be. That is why I'm giving them a B for Punctuality. The job itself was very well done. Alex and his employee worked carefully, confidently, and quickly. I think it took them about 45-60 minutes. The new door fits and swings perfectly. I had the option of re-using the existing interior trim or adding new interior trim for $20 more. I went with the new trim, and it looks much nicer. We discussed door handle/lock options. He installed my new door lock/handle (purchased by me) as I requested, and he took a little time to tell me about the new lock and about door security in general. Alex also did a good job caulking the door frame, inside and out. They also disposed of my old, rotted wooden door. Both Alex and his employee are perfect, native English speakers (which is a plus for me since I only speak English), and they were courteous and professional. They also made sure to clean up their work area. Alex also patiently and fully answered some of my questions about my front door. I'm giving them a B for Quality because the (good) door that they sold me was a bit dirty. It was either slightly used (fine with me) or it had been gathering dust, smudges, and a bit of gunk somewhere for a while. It is a good door at a very good price, but it would have been nice if I hadn't had to clean it. It cleaned up just fine except for a few smudges, and I'll paint it soon, anyway, so it's not a big deal. For the labor and new trim, I paid $345, and I paid him $225 for the new door. Money well spent, in my opinion.
