Foundation, Basement or Crawlspace - Waterproofing / Encapsulation
I paid this contractor a $500 deposit for a bathroom renovation project scheduled to begin March 1-10, 2026. During the entire scheduled work period, the contractor was completely unreachable?phone calls went to voicemail, text messages were undeliverable, and emails went unanswered. Later, the contractor claimed he was out of the country due to a family emergency but made no effort to inform me in advance or reschedule the work. When I requested a refund for the deposit, the contractor refused, claiming the deposit is non-refundable and blaming me for their lost business from other clients. However, no written contract or agreement was ever signed stating deposits are non-refundable. The contractor accepted my payment while being unavailable to perform the work and now refuses to return it despite no services being rendered. This is poor business practice and an unfair treatment of a customer. I do not recommend this contractor to anyone.
