I've had work done twice in my basement and both times everyone was fantastic! From the office to the salesman to the workers everyone is great and easy to get along with! The work was well done and I'm impressed and would hire again anytime!

Great! The inspector who came for the free estimate was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. He was the first of three I got. The project was the same for all estimates... the entire basement perimeter with a waterproofing system and a sump pump system. He didn't try to "sell" me MANY other unnecessary products like one of the companies. He explained what and why everything was for. He followed up a day later and I called back to schedule the work a week later after my last estimate. His was $4900, another was $5500 and one company was $8200! The crew arrived at 8:30am on a Friday morning and worked hard all day. They sent "extra guys" to finish in one day, I really liked that part. The guys worked hard and cleaned up great. I asked them about hauling away a few extra things of mine and they did. The crew manager walked through everything with me at the end and made sure I was happy, Job very well done All-Star Basements, I would highly recommend this company!

I left an initial review and it posted - I also added a follow up review - it did not post and now the one that did post is gone. I can tell you it did not go good at all - now it is working but I am left with slabs of cement they removed for the sump pump in my waterproofed crawl space that was never suppose to be disturbed. I will no longer do follow up on the situation - the sump pump is working now - the driveway was repaired and I don't think storing slabs of cement in my crawl space will cause damage - it was just rude and unprofessional.

Very professional, honest and upfront from the start. We received 3 estimates and this was the best price, most knowledgeable inspector/salesman and the communication was amazing. I was very comfortable from the beginning to the end! The also came very highly recommended by my realtor and home inspector! The driveway and sidewalk were leveled to their original position perfectly. The basement wall I was worried about was anchored and the drain tile and sump pump system were installed with radon mitigation and done in less than 2 days! Everything was cleaned well and the job leader stayed in touch with me to ensure i knew what was going on and was happy with everything. Very highly recommend this company!

Rob Dunham, Owner of All-Star Basements, that performed work in my home specified under a design draw-up and pricing estimate from his previous employer, American Waterworks sump-pump company, as if they were executing the project. He never disclosed he was no longer with American Waterworks and that I would not be getting the product and services previously drawn up. He had me believe he was still employed with American Waterworks and that I was entering the contractual agreement previously drawn up that detailed this specific companys? product and services that I wanted. He did NOT obtain a permit to perform the work in my basement and now will not return my calls to fix the broken siding on my house caused by his crew and I have an unsightly exit hose on my house which would have been underground drainage had the RIGHT company done the work. I was definitely taken advantage of. I wouldn't wish this on anyone else. I see these other reviews talk about inspections, not only was an inspector never sent to look at the work but they did not take pictures of the project to supply to an inspector afterwards. <br />   <br /> I have asked Rob to replace the siding and fix the drainage water. He made one attempt to rectify by sending out an outside plumber to tack on an extension hose but my siding is still cracked and broken and my calls have been ignored for 3 weeks. I had another contractor come out to take a look and it appears the sump pump installed is USED and the battery backup was installed BACKWARDS. I?m now having to pay for another company to come out and check if my sewer line was ruptured during this project because of drain issues and not to mention the smell! I would not recommend this company to anyone.  With his kind of morals, it?s a sad way to make a living. <br /> <br /> I've also contacted the Department of Labor and they've confirmed there is no existing license for Rob or All-Star basements to perform any kind of work. I've now confirmed that my sewer line has been ruptured and both lines of the drainage tile are either collapsed or filled with rocks. In addition, they installed a used rusty sump pump! This company should be removed from Angie's list so he cannot do this to any one else. <br /> <br /> New Addition from Company's response: <br />  First, the crew DID NOT show up in a company truck. It was <br /> an unmarked truck with an open trailer towed behind it. I did initial a <br /> pre-work sheet that had All-Star basements company name on it which I <br /> overlooked simply because I thought I was getting the company that I had <br /> researched, had other friends and co-workers references for and ultimately <br /> picked.  I also initialed their sheet <br /> after the work, however, they made no mention that they damaged my siding and <br /> did not review anything down outside of my basement. They also did not instruct <br /> that I needed to attach any type of hose or PVC pipe to draw water away from my <br /> house. It was the poor execution of this project that opened up the flood gates <br /> to finding more problems. <br /> <br /> Four weeks after initial installation the sump pump cover <br /> was removed and it was discovered the pump was rusty and used. This 4 week <br /> timeframe during March there was no opportunity for the pump to be under water <br /> let alone for the cast iron to rust! All-Star basements had to have a plumber <br /> come out to my house after my insistence because water was pouring down my <br /> basement well window and into my basement. <br /> <br /> My phone calls were unreturned for 3 weeks while I was <br /> following up on getting my siding fixed. A day after I created the BBB <br /> complaint, the office manager of All-Star basements contacted me but knew <br /> nothing of my issues. She followed up with Rob and said that he could only find <br /> a company that fixed steel siding not vinyl. She also offered me $100 to fix it <br /> myself, which I declined. <br /> <br /> It is just NOW 2 months out from this project being <br /> completed, and I have water coming up from the floor (even after a light rain sprinkle) where they trenched and <br /> through the capped toilet as the water has nowhere to go. <br /> The company I hired <br /> to thread a camera through the sewer line and sump pump trenching showed that <br /> one side had completely caved in and another was plugged up with rocks. <br /> Additionally discovered that they punctured the sewer line. I provided a DVD <br /> copy of this to the insurance adjuster. <br /> <br /> Bottom line, this company would have never been allowed to <br /> do work in my home if Rob Dunham was not operating under the guise of American <br /> Waterworks. I made the mistake of calling the number on my estimate that turned <br /> out to be his cell phone and not American Waterworks company. He asked me for <br /> that original design layout and estimate paperwork from American Waterworks <br /> because he was traveling and didn't have access to it. Why would he need this <br /> if I was getting All-Star Basements services?? If I wanted All-Star basements <br /> to perform the work I would have called them and asked for an estimate. I would <br /> NOT have an unknown company that I had not previously researched, perform work <br /> in my home. Rob had every opportunity to disclose his company to me but instead <br /> chose to make a quick buck.

The four guys who performed the work, were later than expected, but they called and informed me of the new arrival time, which was appreciated. They worked as quietly as possible when jackhammering out 57 year old concrete. The covered everything that I requested with plastic in an effort to control the dust. I was warned that dust would be an issue, which it was, but the preparation minimized it. They carefully worked around the plumbing lines which were in the way of the drain tile and even addressed the in-floor heating ducts we have. They placed the tile with care and packed with appropriate stone. The replacement concrete is not as even or smooth as the original, which could pose some issues later when we finish our basement. The job took less than one full day and they cleaned up well after themselves (other than all the dust). The work is only a week old, so not enough time has not elapsed to express an opinion of how well the system works to control our water issue. <br />

Rob was very prompt arranging an interview, was totally professional throughout. Very, very easy to work with and very responsive to questions and concerns. His crew was very polite, took great care to cover floors, and cleaned up very thoroughly after they finished. Had a leak from the utility sink after the install - foreman came an hour after I called and fixed the problem and cleaned up the water. A couple weeks later there was water again under one of the windows. Rob and his foreman came at 9:30 that night, a half hour after I called, to look at the problem, which was from the window well. The crew was back the next day, fixed the problem, and the basement has been dry ever since. I would absolutely recommend Rob and his crew and am thrilled the basement isn't wet anymore! <br />

I had a small amount of water/moisture intruding into the basement from where the wall met the floor along the North side of my basement. I called and set up an estimate with All-Star Basements after reading other reviews/quotes on Angie's list. The inspector, Rob, arrived and looked at the basement. He was courteous, professional, and answered all my questions. He gave me a very competitive quote for laying a drain tile system from the inside. The work consists of tearing up the concrete (2' width) along the inside basement walls and laying rock and drain hose leading to an inside sump pump then pouring new concrete over the excavated area. My area of concern was the North and North-East corner of the house. Rob bid $2000 to install a system that covers 2' of the West wall, the entire North wall, and 6' of the East wall and a sump pump. A 30' length job in total for $2,000. <br /> The day of the project I received a call that the workers would start about two hours late because they had to clean out the work trailer after heavy rains soaked their gear. When the workers arrived they made sure to place floor coverings and plastic in areas to prevent dust intrusion into the rest of the house. They then jackhammered, excavated, and installed the system. It took about 7 hrs. The workers were polite, efficient, and very hard working. I was impressed. They poured the concrete and afterwards they invited me to inspect their work. They did a very good job leveling the concrete. Last they asked me where I wanted the outside sump pump drain hose placed. I wanted it to go towards the back of the house. They placed it in an area where it would be completely hidden from view (along the house behind plants and into shrubs along the fence). <br /> After a few days of heavy rain the system was collecting water and pumping it out. I was surprised because I didn't expect to see the system at work until spring. The pump is VERY quiet, basically undetectable. I'm very satisfied with All Star Basements. <br />

Rob Dunham came out and did the estimate. He was very good to work <br /> with and did and excellent job of explaining the work that was needed and <br /> provided a couple of options. The crew he sent out was right on time and <br /> finished when they said they would. They did a great job and cleaned up behind <br /> themselves. The crew worked very hard. They had to jackhammer up a section 40 <br /> feet long and 18 inches wide. All material removed and all new material (rock <br /> and cement) was moved 2 5 gallon buckets at a time up a flight of stairs. We <br /> have had any more water problems in our basement since they completed the work. <br /> <br /> <br />

They installed a basement drainage system with a sump pump. The crew was <br /> friendly and cleaned up great. Their pricing was much better than <br /> others we talked to and we had our choice of different systems for a <br /> good price. Excellent experience - Rob is very professional, very responsive. After I had the floor system installed I had a window well leak. His foreman came to my house in the evening to see the water as it was raining, which I was very impressed with. Worked quickly and professionally. <br />
