All American Asphalt

PLEASE READ - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! it seems there were some lucky ones that had a good experience, and good for them, but our experience was awful. shoddy work, rude, smug, terrible customer service, did not return calls/text/emails. what we were told would be done in two weeks took five to get them out. weeds and grass growing through the new asphalt in less than a week. they broke our concrete pad and repaired it by skim coating it - it broke and crumbled within a week. the back pad doesn't drain, leaving significant pooling. they left a bunch of lose asphalt in our neighbors stone driveway, failing to clean it up. they put a dumbstruck into our wall causing $9,000 worth of damage and after nearly three months, the damage is unfixed because their insurance carrier is investigating them for insurance fraud. when we tried to get them out to make repairs on the driveway (after we paid them), they completely ignored us until I sent them a certified letter advising that I would sue them and file a complaint with the Division of consumer affairs. the sons came out to make the repairs and they somehow made the issues worse, stole our shovel, and used our landscaping tools, leaving stone in our wheelbarrow for us to clean up. they also melted our garden border and rain drain while using a flame thrower to heat the asphalt. I called bob, the patriarch of the company, after the attempted repairs and told him the repairs needed to be done within a week, as it had already been about two months since the driveway was installed. he advised me that he "doesn't do well with deadlines" and when I told him we would have to sue him then, he stated "won't be the first time". the company has had at least three different names in the past five years orr so filed with the State of NJ Division of Consumer Affairs, which isn't a good sign. and this isn't even the actual current name. It's currently All American Asphalt & Construction LLC. Last names were All American Asphalt and Landscaping and Garden State Paving and Construction LLC. do your research on this company before calling them or getting a quote. we signed our contract on 3/4/22 and its now 6/20 - we still have no resolution with the damaged siding, the driveway repairs have not been properly fixed, and we have not heard a word from Bob, Mark, or Peter Stevens

Fantastic. Starting with what it was like to deal with Robert, the owner. What great and sad to say rare customer service. He didn't even ask for any money until the job was done. I have owned houses since 1977 and dealt with over 10 contractors and that has never happened. Cheers to American Asphalt
