We have been using Curtis from about May 2011 until June 2012. He cuts the lawn only in the spring and summer. <br /> We were gone for the winter and he told us that the lawn had died in the back of our house. When we can back he came out to cut the lawn and talk to us about a fix for the lawn that had died. He took a soil sample and told us he would call us at the end of the week with a bid for the lawn. He said he would not cut the lawn that day as he would do it when he returned. We have never heard from him again. He never called or e mailed or anything. <br /> I am tired of chasing after people to work for me. I do not know what happened to Curtis, but I did not call him. THAT IS HIS JOB TO CALL ME!!!. Of course we cannot use him again.

He has been mowing my lawn for the last month and recently has not been providing the service or returning my phone calls. On top of not responding to my phones calls, he occasionally would only mow half my lawn. Additionally, he also indicated treated my lawn for weeds early on but this has never taken place. He is really unprofessional and he threatened to take me to collections after posting this report. With any complaint given, he would take about a week to respond to my phone calls.

"All American Lawn Service has payments due on the 1st of each month for that month of service. With that said it is now July 18th and payment has not been recieved from this Angies List member. I had even mowed the lawn once on July 6th in good faith, trusting that I would recieve payment shortly after. I was wrong. I had told this member before that payments are due before ANY services are rendered in person and by e-mail. I can not waste any more time communicating this over and over to one person before I just stop responding."

We live on 4 1/2 acres, but we consider our yard to be the immediate acre surrounding our home. We've struggled to maintain this space as it can very quickly get out of control. This year, we decided to hire someone to help out. I contacted All American Lawn Service because they were local and had excellent ratings through Angie's List. Curtis provided an estimate for initial clean up ($180) as well as weekly maintenance ($250/month), both of which we considered to be fair, and he was hired! Curtis shows up, rain or shine, and gets the job done.. cheerfully. Lawns are mowed weekly, debris disposed of onsite, walkways/driveway are blown clean. Trimming of perimeter is done as necessary. It is such a relief to know that our yard will consistently look good this summer!

This included: failure to mail me a schedule and invoice as agreed, failure to mow my lawn on two agreed upon dates, and termination of services with a borderline rude email instead of a phone call.

"As with any business owner, new customers are always desired. When working out the logistics for each of these neighbors, they each only desired 2 cuts per month. It was clearly explained that All American Lawn Service only had 2 slots available for alternating weeks to accomodate this desired service in their area, remaining slots are reserved for weekly customers. These 4 neighbors presented themselves as a package deal, and insisted being serviced on the same day (one of them even called just about on a daily basis on behalf of the group, and would advise he would discuss with them our conversations). This was not an accomodation I could make without sacrificing the ability to take on new weekly customers- this explanation was presented multiple times, but continously questioned. After several similar conversations with different neighbors of this group, being questioned on the scheduling philosphy (even suggested we adjust our established work hours to acommodate them on Sundays), persistant emails and phone calls continuously adjusting their time and date to be serviced- it became obvious that although a business owner always strives to obtain new customers, and provide a remarkable service- the reality was, All American Lawn Service was not able to provide the accommodation set forth by this group of customers and felt it was best to advise them the business arrangement was not suited and they should elect a lawn service company that could. As for the statement regarding no invoice was received, this is because the decision to terminate our business relationship had been decided by All American Lawn Service- thus, she received the email notice. All neighbors/customers were in fact notified by All American Lawn Service by email and/or phone. All American Lawn Service does hold the position that it was unfortunate that individuals were not able to continue with their service due to the expectations set forth by the group."

My Husband was at home when Curtis came out and said it all went very well. <br /> When I came home from work, the yard looked really good. All was done has we had dicussed when Curtis came out and gave usa rate quote a few days earlier. <br /> I am a senior person and got an excellent rate. <br /> We will be having Curtis do our lawn maintence for a long time.

These guys were fantastic! Curtis came out to look at the scope of the project and promptly sent me a written proposal. I asked him to add a couple of things ... he did. <br /> <br /> Curtis and his work buddy came out, did everything they were asked to do, cleaned up all messes and were gone like Supermen ... up, up and away. <br /> <br /> He/they surpassed all of my expectations.

After my excellent previous experience with All American Lawn Service-Curtis, I requested his service again for further yard cleanup and also for my neighbor Evelyn who also had 2 trees removed and wanted yard maintenance estimate for thatching. Curtis was prompt, arrived early and completed the entire job for both of us removing 5 medium size trees and removing all debris and cleaning up within 4 hours. Curtis price was again very reasonable. I do not normally make recommendations but my experience with All American Lawn Service in both cases has been great. I have been very pleased with the service and plan to use this service again. <br /> Thank you Curtis

Curtis removed a very large box elder over 20 years old that had split 3 ways and part was on the roof in the front, trimmed and cleaned up all the storm debris and broken branches some I didn't even see. In the back yard Curtis removed 3 additional specimen trees that were baddy damaged and removed numerous other branches (the size of trees) from my oaks and cherry trees. Both my front and backyard is ready for spring! <br /> His quote was excellent and he was here on time and went right to work over 6 hrs of cutting, raking, blowing and hauling away. Price was great and I would hire him again and recommend him to all my friends. In fact my neighbor came over and asked him for a quote for her yard.

It all started out ok as he was quite pleasant to talk with. He was prompt as scheduled. But....after he seeded and fertilized the grassy area that was in dire need of it, the work did not take and the are is just as bad as it was before he started. I have placed numerous calls to him to come back out and mke an assessment and his has not made any attempt to call me back. therefore, I DO NOT RECOMMEND him at all. He chimed that this was his lively hood as he has a wife and young children, he had only one other negative comment which is why I selected him but yet he pulls this stunt. To simply not return multiple calls speaks loudly as to his serious lack of commitment to customer service. DO NO USE HIM.

"In July I met with the member's mother at her home to talk about overseeding her side lawn. She had told me that they had already had another company come out and do the same exact thing that was necessary, and the grass failed to grow. So I explained to her that I would put a fresh top dressing of turf soil down, fertilize and overseed and that it should help with the patchy areas. From there I told her that she would have to water the lawn as needed making sure not to wash the seed away. And explained the grass with the right amount of watering and sunlight will take up to 8 weeks to grow in. (This member's comments was premature, placed at only 5 weeks after work was complete). As soon as I came back from a vacation I received the member's voicemails and this Angie's List Report, I Immediately called him back letting him know I would be out there to fix any areas that didn't grow and I apologized for him not being able to get a hold of me as I left my business phone behind. The member told me "I'm about to walk in a meeting I'll call you at my lunch." The member never called me back. I had tried to make things right with this member who had wrote this misleading review within the timeframe I gave him for the grass to grow. I also wanted to point out that I personally do this same type of job 10+ times a year and had never had a problem till now. I feel I represent All American Lawn Service with the utmost Quality, Price and Professionalism that all my customers would agree with me on."

Curtis Usher, owner of All American Lawn Service, responded promptly to my initial contact requesting an estimate for landscape work and annual lawn service. He listened patiently while I described what I had in mind, was professional, prompt, helpful, very knowledgeable and provided suggestions as needed. <br /> <br /> I am extremely pleased with the landscaping job done in the backyard as well as the routine lawn service. It didn't work out. A problem arose and they fixed the problem. The price was good and he did good quality work. I don't have a problem with that. When we were on vacation, he was cutting the grass when a rock hit our patio window. It shattered the patio window and we had problems going on, because he said it wasn't his fault. He didn't want to pay us for a new window and he didn't want to pay us for the repair. We just went back and forth through that. In the end he ended up paying us, but he didn't end up paying us for the amount that was due. We got three quotes and he said that they were too high. He said he had somebody else who could do it for cheaper than this. He wouldn't honor any of the price quotes we got. We got one quote and he wasn't ready to pay us, saying this is only one bid and that we could get at least two more. We went and got two more bids, and they were in the same line with just about $20 difference. In the end, he said he had someone who could do it much cheaper than that and he wasn't paying that price. We finally agreed to whatever he could get done. There was so much mess from what our quote was. Now we have to get a brand new patio door window that is going to cost us $700. We did find out about it when we were back home after vacation, because he left us a message on the answering machine telling us that he was cutting the grass and it shattered the glass. He said he was sorry and asked us to call him back so he could work something out for us. He said that he was willing to pay for the repairs. So we called him back after seeing the window, and it went into a big ordeal. In the end, he did pay us even though it wasn't the right price it had to be. We weren't happy with that part of the service. He did a good job as far as the price and quality was concerned. He did good quality work. It's just that one action that made everything look bad. We spent around $40 a week which came up to $150 a month. The service was good and the grass was cut and trimmed neatly. He always did it in a different direction each week. One week he might do in a horizontal direction and he would never cut it the same way every week. The grass should never be cut the same way every time. He cleaned everything up. If it wasn't for that window, we would have had his services. He was a little too pricey and we could have got it a bit cheaper. We decided to just go ahead and pay him that premium price for the lawn work. He didn't respond very well to the problem that came up. I was leaving messages and he wouldn't call back.

He has always been very professional. He is really good at what he does. He edges perfectly. He lets me know how much it?s going to cost upfront if there is anything that has to be done extra like fertilizing. He also tells me as to why it?s important to get that done. So he is really good about that and he comes on time. I would use his services in the future too.

My lawn was patchy from a very dry summer and some botched lawn treatments. He comes biweekly in the winter, weekly when the grass grows more quickly. He provides advice when seasonal lawn care needs arise, and I haven't had to worry about my yard for about a year now.

I asked Curtis for an estimate and I was pleased with the price and terms.? This was about a year ago, and he and his helpers have maintained our lawn and property needs year round since that time and we have been very pleased.
