ALLEN TILE

Allen tile did a fantastic job. I am so impressed with the hard work put into this job. The tile looks absolutely gorgeous! All the work that was done was completed to perfection. I was also comfortable leaving Kevin in my home when I was gone which was a huge plus to have someone you can trust. I would recommend Allen tile to anyone.

Perfectly! I had recently become disabled and was taking my showers in a chair, with only suction cup grab bars to steady myself on. Kevin very kindly worked me into his busy schedule right away. He arrived right on time and, as he always does, got right to work. Kevin was done in the time I figure it would take me to do one. All are exactly where I wanted them and all are rock solid. BTW I had researched grab bars and purchased them myself.

Kevin did a great job with the tile we chose. He paid attention to the little details that make a big difference, like pulling the baseboards and tiling up to the walls and then replacing with new baseboard trim. He installed the new vanity we had chosen and tiled under it, instead of around it as the original builder had done. When there was a gap between our cabinets and the floor he worked with us to select the right shade of trim pieces to make it look finished. Our front door needed a special piece made to overlay the tile which he also did. He even helped repair (replace) a leaky valve for the washing machine in the laundry. Bottom line is we could not have been happier with the job. The only caveat for other readers is that he works alone and you'll need to allow slightly longer for the job than others might quote. You won't regret it if you can budget the time.

Kevin was a first-rate professional, extremely knowledgeable, a great communicator and meticulous about his work. He takes a great deal of pride in the finished product, and it definitely shows! On top of all of this, he is a really nice person to do business with. I would hire him again in heartbeat to do any tile work in my home.

Kevin works solo, so the job took about 1 month. During this time we did not have our stove, laundry, dishwasher and our fridge was in our family room. Someone with a larger crew would have finished faster, but the quality of the work is outstanding. We liked the work so much, we hired Kevin to come back and install a glass tile backsplash in our kitchen. Kevin even helped repair a leaking valve in the laundry and the soggy wall it caused as well as install a new vanity and toilet in our bath. I'd give him my highest recommendation.

Kevin is great, he responded quickly and was able to squeeze us in as it was a small job we were looking to move fast. We had already purchased the new tile and removed the old tile, we noticed some damage around the toilet area and Kevin replaced the subfloor and them applied a new level underlayment. Kevin arrived on time each day and worked efficiently finishing up in just a couple of days.We are very happy with the results.

<strong>Allen Tile Co. delivered an unsafe, unusable shower<br /> </strong> <br /> Kevin Allen, of Allen Tile Co., was hired as a sub-contractor by Ed the Plumber, who had responsibility for our job. <br /> Kevin Allen started with exposed studs surrounding a newly installed acrylic base with drain.  <br /> He learned that Ed the Plumber, who installed the base, failed to ensure the base was level and it did not have adequate support under the base so it would be solid.  The base would flex, creak, and the drain would move when weight was put on it. <br /> <br /> <strong> Instead of addressing these 2 problems when they could have easily been  fixed, Kevin Allen proceeded with <br /> installation of the Swanstone walls.</strong> <br /> After the walls were installed, sealed and the trim work completed, Kevin Allen Tile told us about the faulty installation of the base. The unleveled base created a multitude of unnecessary problems for the door installation.  This resulted in days of extra time by Kevin Allen, for which he wanted an additional fee.  When Kevin Allen finely told us the door installation was complete, we were dismayed that the doors would not stay shut or stay open and they were swinging horizontally at the bottom because they were above their tracks, not in the tracks.  <br /> <br /> After reading the manufacturers instructions, it was obvious to me that <strong>Kevin Allen Tile did not install the door header correctly</strong>. <br /> <br /> Kevin Allen Tile Co. returned 3 days later with no tools.  I showed him the problem and the manufacturers instructions about the correct way to install the header.  With no apologies for his oversight, he worked several more hours, using my tools and my help. Eventually the doors were installed as specified by the manufacturer.  However, because the base was so far off level the doors were still dysfunctional. <br /> <br /> <strong> Kevin Allen’s failure to communicate</strong> with Ed the Plumber about the faulty base and his inability to correctly install the shower doors wasted days of extra labor which could have been avoided.  His failure to address known problems early in the renovation process greatly contributed to the expensive measures we are now taking to get this shower into an acceptable form. <br /> <br /> Request for partial reimbursement from Kevin Allen Tile Co. and Ed the Plumber have been ignored.
