Great, he was late but apologized and said he never is late - I think it was a misunderstanding and believe him.
He worked hard to get dents and spots out and the carpet looks a lot brighter and nicer. He was a very nice guy and explained things as he went.
This is the 1st time I've hired a carpet cleaner and if I have to again I will likely hire him. I used the Angie's List coupon.
Called in October gave bid over the phone with their special= 129.99, Call back to schedule in December does not honor the special, granted $10 savings- Strike one. Main reason we called was to have a 4' x 4' stain removed from wet basement in corner of bedroom. He said over the phone we will be surprised at positive results. Over the phone communicated his work was guaranteed.
$139- for hall, Stairs, and 3 brs. with enzyme treatment and sanitizing.
Remember the only reason we called was for 4 x 4 stain removed, but obviously might as well get rest of carpet done. Owner business, David, came in did reasonable job on the basic carpet areas. As our carpet is very clean to start with no shoe household so no real traffice where or stains.
He attempted to clean the carpet in the 4' x 4' corner, he thought he did a good job. My wife reviewed his work, pointed at areas that his work did not improve- he did not really seem to notice? So he went to clean again scrubbed but indicated it would not help. He did say that after carpet dried the other areas would look good (it was just the shadowing of the damp carpet)- she trusted his experience.
During the job he also made it clear that he was not charging us for enzyme treatment? Strike Two? It say on his preprinted company reciept- "Halls + stairs + 3br and enzyme treatment carpet cleaning and santizing"- Thanks for not charging us for something you is on your invoice.
He wrote up a receipt. As he walked out he said "my work is guaranteed."
Next Day the stained area really had showed no big improvement. Ths shadowing effect was actually just the stain not removed. My wife left a message indicating that she thought general cleaning on other rooms looked good but the stained area look poor.
He returned our call left a two day message (okay 4 minute message)- He obviously did not hear her compliment about the other rooms looking good. His message showed no customer service guarantee skills- He went on to say if he came back out he would have to charge us. But what reallly showed no class-------- he went on to say that he completed one more step on the stairway then we indicated, and the hallway was larger than communicated!- Funny we live in a average rambler in St Anthony- the hall is (guessing) 3.5' by 14 feet and the T that goes to two bedrooms? Wow now that is an exhausting job cleaning an already clean hall. You would think we live a 6 br, 5000sqft home in North Oaks. If you are so worried about the job size- come out and bid it- which we know would not be a profiting model.
Called him left him message that he had lack of skills in customer service communication. (fyi I own 50 rental homes- I know basic carpet common sense-)
Easy steps for owner of company- you see the stain, you are experienced carpet cleaner you say "Unfortunately in my experience the stain may not come out" Don't sell shadows. When you return call- apologize, explain your insights, etc, etc. FYI never leave a long winded message talking about the ridicualous things you did not charge for - a step and larger than average hall- yuck.
Good news he did call back and left a message that he was unprofessional- that was good. But in my opinion that ship has sailed. His communication at the job sight was ying and yang- kind of passive aggressive. I don't think he meant no harm..but to much for a 139 buck carpet job.
Life is good he will probably learn and improve but not on our house. Sorry long review- but the one extra step sent my wife over the edge :)

"When the customer first called, she said that they had a very small water spot with mold in the corner of one room. Also thy told me there hall was very small also. when I arrived the spot was bigger than 4' X 4', I gave them a Quote for a standard carpet cleaning, and gave then the water damaged area for free thinking it was very small according to the customer, not a large mold stain. 4' X 4' that's 12 square feet of stain which is a huge water damaged mold stain that had been there for quit some time. I honored my quote anyway and worked and worked the stain on tan colored carpet,it looked good when i left, i do guarantee my work when someone pays for my service, i never charged them in the first place for a stain that was much much larger, they were very deceptive when i gave the bid, large L shaped hall when they said it was a very small hall, more stairs than they said and a huge mold stain. They tried to have me come back and re-work the mold stain, i said i would ,although i would have to charge this time for my service. they got so mad and very unreasonable to have to actually pay for service to rework a stain they never payed for to start with. I charge then $139.00 For two rooms, hall and a set of stairs, which is very reasonable. I also cleaned a large area rug for $29. They then threaten to give me a bad review on Angie's list, because i had to charge for my time and cost of doing business."

They were the best carpet cleaning service I have used. What i real liked is the fact they use green products, and the fast dry times.
