Leak on front porch, after having the service provider from All Home Repair come out to fix it, it still has leak. Now he wont return my phone calls.
Response from All Home Repair
"This work was performed in spring of 2012. I strongly recommended that he not use double pane vinyl windows as skylights which he insisted on doing. With this in mind I told him that I will only warranty work for 12 months. The illegal aliens he hired (his words) to frame and deck this sun room framed it poorly, and they used lap siding with no shingle as a roof. DUH! I was hired to rip off lap siding and install decking, felt, and shingle. The transition between new and old roof was uneven and had large gaps because of poor framing. He was told he would have problems unless he re-framed, which he did not want to do. Now he has the problems that I warned him about."

He is responsive to sit down and go over details of what you want and do not want. He is willing to redo things that you don't want. He is amiable and good to work with. He is professional and on time.
Nice worker and helper, but they had to redo a couple of items. They were willing to make it right which I appreciated. My wife's biggest objection was their appearance. Not professional looking enough for her. However, no real significant complaints about work performed.
Response from All Home Repair
"Just like another customer we had concerning the same issue. I find it hard to believe that any customer would expect any service personnel to crawl around on their roof, under the house, and lay on the ground wearing polo shirts and slacks. We dress for the job. If we perform those particular tasks and show up with paint drops on our shirts and a hole in the knee of our blue jeans, we are prepared for the dirt and grime that goes with it. Don't approve? Then call Dapper Dan Handyman service. I am sure a service with that name carries stupidly high prices and work performed will fall apart in three months. Our prices are the most reasonable, we are honest, and we are here long after the bill is paid. People had all this, but soon, you will have all the rest and what comes with it."

DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN OR COMPANY!!! DO NOT BELIEVE A WORD IN HIS REPLY TO THIS EITHER!!!
Since he saw "sucker" written on my forehead due to my handicap, this man literally STAGED small areas done properly so he could shoot a photo of it to get paid as a portion of the work was "completed". It was taking so long, and he wasn't showing up so often, leaving only one worker there most of the time, that I fired him because of that, but when I got other workers in there I was sent into a state of shock I am still trying to recover from. Virtually everything he did had to be corrected or redone due to extremely sloppy workmanship, even to the point that I would call some of it blatant vandalism. Even though I provided 6 rolls of masking paper and 8 rolls of masking tape, he masked NOTHING. The entire house was literally a massive overspray, including my appliances, every window in the house, my built in natural wood bookcases, the natural wood mantel of my fireplace, the custom painted "wood look" front door, EVERYTHING RUINED WITH HEAVY OVERSPRAY, even turned completely white!!!
I spent a lot of time and money selecting paint colors for the rooms, even with him helping me select them, and then they mixed ALL THE COLORS TOGETHER and painted the entire house that one color!! At one point, he called me to ask if the interior doors were supposed to be painted, even though I'd given him a detailed list, and I told him NO, the doors are not to be painted. He said he would clean them for me, like he was doing me a favor, and the next thing I hear is he painted them all, again as if he was doing me a favor. Well, obviously, he'd oversprayed them beyond repair so he had to paint them. But even that was screwed up because the paint used was ceiling paint mixed with the high quality paint I'd bought for the molding, making it a chalky unwashable paint, and then HE LEANED THE WET DOORS TOGETHER SO THEY DRIED STUCK TOGETHER RUINING EVEN THE HORRIBLE JOB HE'D DONE.
The first thing the new workers discovered was that the clickable floating floor installed in one bedroom, which was to go throughout the house, was lacking the underlayment I'd bought for it, so they took it up so they could do it right. Upon doing so, not only did they find nails and filth under the floor proving it had never even been swept, but the idiot had even SAWED A HOLE in my floor for some unknown reason, and then FILLED THAT HOLE IN MY FLOOR WITH SHEET ROCK!!! OMG!! Not only that, the floor planks were lined up rather than spaced apart so the seams went right in a row!! The floors he was supposed to level for tile were not leveled at all, and he was about to put hardi-board down, which would have caused broken tiles in my future. The list of fraudulent work goes on and on.
THIS ONE EXAMPLE TELLS IT ALL... I wanted him to paint the bathroom window black and seal it behind sheet rock with the insulation I'd purchased for him. Oh, they painted it alright, WITH THE WINDOW OPEN!!! OMG!! The window was only partially painted as a result, no insulation was even put there, even though the insulation I bought disappeared off the planet. When the new workers came THE WINDOW WAS STILL OPEN, and it had rained several days into the sealed up wall!!! Is that anything but vandalism? And then there is the sheet rock job, only screwed in occassionally, resulting in the sheet rock bowing out giving a wavy effect on the painted walls!! Of course, all my 20 pounds of screws were missing from the job.
HEAR ME, PEOPLE, THIS MAN IS NOT ONLY A POOR EXCUSE FOR A HANDIMAN, BUT HE IS A LIAR AND A THIEF. HE'S A SCAM ARTIST!! I've only included some examples of the massive mess he left behind. Oh, he talks a good spin, telling you all the favors he's doing for you, but DO NOT TRUST HIS WORK OR HIS WORD OR HIS STICKY HANDS!!! HE'S SCUM OF THE EARTH. The only way he could have gotten all the good reviews is by creating them himself. DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!!

MIke Nelson is a very nice man so this is why it has taken me so long to write a review. I just didn't want to give a bad one but finally decided it's my duty to the other Angie's LIsters to do so. The job was estimated to be done in three days, and the scope of work was estimated in detail. It took five days instead of three. I was very unhappy about that, that is too long for me to have someone in my house. He did not charge me for the drain unclogging, which was nice. But the wooden threshold is too high and the door drags across it. He knew this but did not redo it. I had to find the asbestos siding to replace the existing siding which was broken, which he did not inform me at the time of the estimate. I did not learn that until after the job was started. Also, I guess I assumed that he would paint the "new" siding with paint I had but he did not. The interior painting was really not any better than if I had done it myself; I believe his helper did most of that. The vents in the ceiling are painted shut. There is paint spatter on my wooden toilet seat and drips in my marble shower. I have dark wood molding at the ceiling and when I lie in bed I look up and see paint on the underside of the molding, and a one-inch area by the ceiling light fixture that was just totally missed. The garage door opening has a new metal plate there, but with unsightly white caulk on the painted dark brown wood, and a loose facing which was part of the area needing repair was left as is, not nailed back. The drain unclogging was perfect, I have no complaints about it.
Response from All Home Repair
"Customer, Please refer to your written estimate below and find that we were not hired to paint any exterior surfaces per your request. We were asked not to do so because you were having the house painted. I found no paint drips on my inspection of work as well. The crown molding had already been painted previously so we followed suit and painted over it so you would not have an off colored strip of tan paint against your mint colored walls. Additionally, there was no loose trim above garage. As for the threshold, I informed you that in seasonal change that your addition that the door sits in may rise or fall and you were asked to call me if it happens and that I would adjust it. I am happy for you that you liked all the free work including the repair of your front door. From your words, I have come to believe that it would take a far stretch to obtain your satisfaction since you complained about us previously concerning your estimate. You have 5 months left on your work guarantee. Feel free to call us in light of all these unfounded complaints as we honor all warranties fully. Thank you for your business! Remove attached service wire and repair asbestos siding at broken area's at back gable or cover with plywood square. Re-attach wire to house. Re-attach loose gutter and replace rotted threshold at door. Move furniture to center of 2 bedrooms and cover w/ dropcloths. Patch all holes in ceiling and walls in those 2 bedrooms. Sand patches smooth. Paint 2 bedrooms @ walls with customer supplied paint. Mix remainder of wall paint with white paint and paint ceilings. Unclog garage drain and affix metal edging at bottom of door trim at both sides. Caulk doorway and metal trim. No charge"

Firstly, there are some people leaving "reviews" on this forum that should be ashamed of themselves. To speak so meanly of a man that comes to give you an estimate and is always pleasant as he does so is wrong to say the least. Some people need to do some serious soul searching. Christ, I know there is no pleasing some people, but one must be reasonable when making comments that can affect someone's livelihood.
There are plenty of men out there wearing flashy clothes that will rob you blind and laugh about it later. Mike isn't one of them. He is an honest man. When you meet him, you know you are talking to a man who is just trying to do an honest days work and make a reasonable living. I know that I can trust him in my home, and trust what he says. If there is a small issue, he always makes good without any fuss.
I first used Mike over a year ago to repair a bathroom floor in a rental unit of mine. He did a good job, and came in under budget. He went back at my request to paint the vanity trim at no charge. He goes out of his way to please and will do what he can to make the customer happy. (Obviously, this fact is lost on some folks). I didn't give a review for that job, my bad.
I just employed Mike to paint the inside of one of my duplexes. The place was a mess with wall damage and old wallpaper in the bathroom. He and his assistants did a great job prepping and painting the place. I actually paid him a little extra because I know the work involved and I know that he wouldn't have asked.
He also took up some tile at a reasonable price. The job ended up not being as easy as we imagined, but he did what he could to get it done on budget.
Mike and his assistant also stained the trim and a new bare wood door. He hung the door for me after he was done staining. I told Mike that I was throwing away a door frame, because I had no need for it. He said that he wanted it to give to seniors and the needy when he donates his labor sometimes. Tell me thats not a guy with his heart in the right place.
Mike is a great contact for a landlord or homeowner that doesnt have time to take care of all kinds of fix its and maintenance issues. I will be using him most definitely in the future. Most importantly of all, in this day and age when there are so many scammers and fakes, you can trust the guy, you know? I'll take that over a flash salesman any day of the week.
Our hot water tank needed to be replaced as well as the floor that was rotted from the leaking water tank. Mike and his team did a great job replacing the floor, jacking the house back up & replacing the hot water tank. They were on time & stayed to the estimate and a job well done, This is exactly what we needed and we are really enjoying having hot water! I would recommend Mike, his work ethic & follow through was refreshing.
Stetson arrived on time and worked diligently until the work was finished. Mike also did some previous work for us which included removing the old baseboard in the living room and putting down new baseboard, caulking top and bottom and then painting. He also fixed a leak around the baseboards in our sun room. We are very satisfied with the work Mike and his assistant, Stetson do.
Called Mr Nelson early in July to come over and give me an estimate on the work to be done. Told me that he was very busy right now, but that what I wanted done wouldn't take much time and that he would squeeze me in in-between jobs and that he would get back with me. Well out of the blue two guys show up wanting to work. I loaned them a ladder and a saws-all and they started on the outside board replacement. Then of course they had to run for supplies. I asked them about the estimate and they said that Mike would have to be the one to do that. To make a long story short, the window never was in the estimate and while some staining that had not accord to me to do on the foundation got done because he said that it would look better, but not the crack that I wanted done. He did some stuff for me at no charge and sent me a condolence card when my mother died while he was at the house and that was very nice. He is a very nice man. However he left paint on my appliances, cabinets, floors, and in sinks and counter tops of all the bathrooms. While working on it for two days I was finally able to get most of it off. But upstairs where he spray painted all that on the carpet would not come off. Not even after paying a professional carpet cleaner to try.

When I contacted him told him i needed to weather proof my Tulsa home, before winter arrived. Mike went by and check the item I had mentioned, then gave a very reasonable estimate for those repairs. We then agreed to a time for the repairs, he and his assistant, arrived on time, and completed the work as scheduled, he even repaired the front screen door, placed drip edging on the roof, for free, since these where not in his estimate. I have since inspected the house and all of the work looks great.
I called him on very short notice. He came out and fixed the drywall, which was quit a problem. He cut out the drywall and got everything ready for the tiling. He did the job on Friday and called Saturday and asked if everything was okay. He came out on Saturday to help my husband on some things that we needed done without charging extra. I thought he was a very nice guy. He was concerned about the work and our satisfaction. I was really happy with the work. And that he helped my husband with tiling which we did not hire him for.

Most honest hard working and polite handyman in Tulsa and surrounding areas. Mike did a very good job putting up dry wall in our kitchen and was a joy to have in our home. He was very polite and punctual. Prices are definitely competitive. Wont look anywhere else when I need work done in the future.
