This guy gave me my best case scenario, what I originally hoped for, but which 6 of the other 7 or so said was impossible. Specifically, that the outside a/c unit could be replaced by itself, without having to do the air handler. And of the only other guy who said this could be done - my guy was about half the price. Finally, he gave me 6 months on the quote for the air handler, if I should decided I still wanted it after the a/c was replaced. (All seems fine with the a/c after 1 month in August.) COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER.

They were the best because they are trustworthy, professional and they don't try to up sell also they don't over engineer everything. I would not use anybody except him and I already referred them to my friends.

John was a true professional. On my commercial property he diagnosed the problem and replacement and then worked to suggest the best solutions to reinstall properly with the current roofing system. Something we hadn't even thought about.

One of the heaters in my home went out. I called Allied on 12/19 at 4pm and got their after hours voicemail. Since it was only 4pm, I was a little concerned that maybe they had already taken the rest of December off for Christmas. However, they called me at 7:30am the very next day and sent their crew over later that morning. I was grateful they were able to come over so quickly. They had to replace a part associated with the pilot light sensor. Fortunately, they had the replacement part with them so I didn't have to wait several days for a part to be ordered. They fixed the heater quickly. They were on time, professional, and everything went well. I would recommend them.

We have been using them since we bought the house. We have a service contract with them. They make sure that everything is in working order and there's no leaks. They are extremely knowledgeable and they do outstanding work. It's always done on a timely basis and they have a good reputation. They are the best that we have ever dealt with before. Usually one comes out unless a service needs to be performed. It might take them an hour. We will continue to use them.

They were great, they came 3 times because they could not find the issue at first. They finally fixed it and discovered that the original dial did not work.

The vendor came out twice. Found damage to the ductwork in the attic which allowed heating and air conditioning of the attic; the wiring had been done incorrectly at installation and two relays were needed. The repairs were made, and the owner did not charge me for some of the work. The people appear to be very honest and knew what they were doing. No one I have used for maintenance in the past 9 years ever uncovered any problems with my unit. It is now working more efficiently than it ever has. You can bet that I will be calling them for my maintenance in the future.
We had an air unit die, i.e., quit putting out cold air. We called Milestone Electric to send someone to inspect it. Their tech said that the unit was damaged beyond repair and that we needed an entire new system to the tune of about $17000 plus another approx $2500 to service our other unit. I told the Milestone tech that for that price I would have to get other bids. The look on his face should have told me all I needed to know. Three other companies came and gave us bids to replace the "dead" unit all of which were many thousands of dollars cheaper than Milestone's bid for about the same quality units. For example, one of the bid items on both units about $800 for a kit to convert the filter to a four inch from one inch. More on that later.
This morning, John Malko showed up at that house. I must have reached him through an online enquiry. I didn't remember since I contacted so many companies. I thought that we had settled on another company to install a new two phase unit for about $8000. High quality. So I wasn't too happy to see another tech. But what the hey. I explained that we needed one new unit and service on the other. He said that he would be glad to look at the "dead" unit as a second opinion. He is a Trane tech and the "dead" unit is a Trane. After checking it out, he said all it needed was a little freon (R22) and that it probably had a small leak in the coil inside the attic. He charged the unit and it immediately started blowing cold air. He explained the heat dynamics to us and said that it would probably hold the freon all summer and then lose some again in the winter. Very knowledgeable. He said that we could get by without replacing the coil but that eventually we would have to replace at the cost of about $1500. We dedided to do that.
He was very helpful and didn't try to upsell us. When he inspected the Trane units in the attic, he said they were in very good condition and suggested that we put in 4 inch filters. He pointed out that the units were already configured for 4 inch units. All he had to do was remove two brackets in both units and the four inch filter fit perfectly. No additional charge except for the filters that he had on hand.
He didn't charge us for the freon he put in the system because we decided to replace the coil. By the way, the Milestone guy said that the R22 units in the attic could not be used with R410 condensors outside. Not true. John explained that he could replace the coils in the attic using R22 and then convert it to R410 whenever we were ready to replace the condensor outside, which he said may not be for many years.
He made my day! I woke up I would be spending upwards of $10000 and with John's excellent advice, discovered that we could have gotten by with a $144 service call. He made it clear that we could get by without the new coil. The leaks is small and generally occurs during the winter months when the furnace is blowing superhot air over the coils.
This company is going to be my goto air conditioning company and will get all my friend referrals.
Most of their employees have been there for years. We feel very comfortable with them. They seem like a very honest company. Several times they charged us less than $100 because it was a minor repair; though they could've charged us a lot more and we wouldn't have known the difference. Twice they fixed something for free because they said they were up in the attic anyway and the repair didn't really require new parts. Great company!
Once or twice a week we would find a small puddle of water in front of the refrigerator doors. We did a google search and quickly found that the problem was probably a stopped up drain. When the defrost cycle comes on, it melts ice in the freezer and the water is supposed to drain into a pan under the fridge where it evaporates. If the drain is clogged, it runs out under the freezer door instead. Most comments said it could be very difficult to clear the drain, so I called Allied. They were able to schedule an appointment the next morning. The service technician arrived within the three hour window. He quickly blew out the drain with a compressed nitrogen tank and was gone in 15 minutes. I thought $87 was very reasonable for a service call. It has been two weeks now and no more water on the floor. Thanks Allied American!
I went to Angie's list and got 4 quotes from providers with high customer satisfaction ratings. The folks at Allied were by far the best of the lot. As usual the A/C unit quit on Saturday mourning of a 100 plus degree day. Allied apologized extensively that they could not get to an estimate until Monday at 8:00 AM. Then unsolicited thy called and said they could get a team over Saturday afternoon. The team showed up and before trying to sell me a new unit they ran a series of tests and tried to get my old unit running. I joked that if you get this going I might not buy a new unit. The tech simply smiled and said "that's fine you will call us when you are ready to buy hopefully". "I would rather see if I can get you cool first then we will worry about a new compressor".
Three other companies showed up and none tried to get my old unit running. One gave me a price and said "If you do not take this deal now it goes up on Monday". The old compressor was locked up. They quoted me a new Trane system less than everyone else, showed up on Monday exactly as promised. Did a spotless install in 2 hours.
This is my Heating, A/C and appliance company from now on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
The installation of the new unit went great! Then the next day the furnace control went out on the other. We thought we had that unit fixed and the compressor went out on it the next day. They came out as quickly as possible after each problem and fixed it as fast as they could get parts and such. They are great and we highly recommend the company!
