"It amazes me what someone will stoop too because they couldn't get a discount on their service. First off yes I did estimate the job in April but the amount of rain we received in April and parts of May backed me up considerably like every other contractor. This particular customer was free to go to another contractor to get the job done quickly but they chose to wait even though I was backed up. Secondly yes good help is hard to find. The deck was cleaned and yes appeared that after the stain was applied that it needed more work done too it. I was called once and I came out and re-stripped the deck and even sanded areas that needed it. I reapplied the seal and deck looked beautiful and lets not leave out how nice the fence turned out. So the customer NEVER had to call me a million times. As for the quote I used a program that I email all my quotes and once emailed you cannot change a quote. I even have a digital signature from the customer as well as documented IP address of his approval. This is a function that is used specifically for this purpose. As for arriving on time I always went to the job in the evening time because that was when the deck was in the shade and technically deck stain should not be put on in direct sunlight so I was very careful when it came to anything concerning this job. As for getting things on siding and their items. Yes a little seal was removed from siding in a very tight fitting area as shown below. That stain on siding is no longer there. In reference to their items, there was no way anything was dripped because the deck was brushed and everything was up against the deck, I had to move things away just to get to the one side. it didn't help that they moved all their outdoor furniture and grill etc... up against the deck as you can see in the photo below. The customer was rude and obnoxious and some of the words coming out of their mouths was to me very unprofessional as well. They also failed to say that I put a 2nd coat on the entire deck because they asked and I did not charge them extra to do so. I admit that we are not perfect and we make mistakes but we fixed the deck and the fence looks great. I have pictures of the deck and the fence and even snapshots of the bill.
