"We would like to, first of all, apologize for any inconvenience this client has experienced using our services. Unfortunately in our line of work damages are an unfortunate part of the job and even with our best efforts to avoid these things from happening, we will come across these situations once in a while. This client moved into our storage facility for roughly a month and it seems like one of his items was not delivered. This does not mean the item was stolen. Human error can result in an item going missing by potentially being delivered to a different client or stacked next to a different job. This is a very rare occurrence and honestly, the first time since we opened our doors that something like this happened. There were a few damaged items as the client states and we offered to reimburse more than six times the legal amount. The dollar amounts the client lists are the legal $0.60 per pound per item figures which we heavily multiplied in order to provide the client with the best possible resolution. Unfortunately, this customer has unrealistic expectations from a moving company and expects us to replace/repair any and all items that they feel are missing or have damage done to them. The client refused to purchase additional coverage when provided with three different options during the initial in-home visit. They signed the basic liability coverage of $0.60 per pound per item but are demanding that we replace his belongings when full-value replacement coverage was never purchased. If moving companies just went around replacing every item that was damaged/missing there would be no moving companies at all. It simply does not work that way and the reason that insurance companies exist. We have offered this client much more than any other moving company would have in this situation but it is still not good enough for them. We are sorry that we were not able to reach a resolution and will refuse to provide moving services to this client in the future."
"First of all we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this client may have experienced during their relocation. We would like to note for public record that the initial estimate given to the customer was for $5,812. She ended up paying $4,663 which is actually $1,149 less than the initial estimate. We have spoken with her many times on separate occasions explaining all of the legitimate charges but for some reason it just would not make sense to her. We are assuming she is confusing a different quote from a different moving company. We tried everything and did our best to accommodate any requests as we always do with all of our customers. The service we provided was top notch and went above and beyond to earn her satisfaction. We wish Carol all the best in her new home."
