I spent the last four years hiring oddballs, semi professionals, side hustlers to do all the dirt things outside of my house - thinking if I saved $100-$1000, it was worth it. But what ended up happening is that imperfect execution led to dead plants, ugly plantings, and rude workers. When I hired Almstead, they sent a professional arborist, who clearly knew more than all the folks I hired in the past few years put together. Moreover, they fixed everything flawlessly and with beauty and precision, were not more expensive like I thought they'd be, and sent very respectful workers to my home. No doubt I will never hire anyone else.

My lawn was ruined last year but since using Almsteads services this year(2019) I now have the best lawn on the block. Oscar knew exactly what was wrong and scheduled the proper maintenance to renew the lawn. I am so pleased with their service and will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. Excellent. Removed 75 foot elm from back yard that had to be craned over house. Trimmed other trees on property as well. Terrific customer service. "Sales Arborist," Oscar, did estimate and then was key contact throughout, including coming to site at beginning of job and checking in during the day. Crew was very nice, competent, and accommodating. Was able to change things up to also take down neighbor's tree that was endangering my property. Allowed me to keep chips for yard. Have recommended to others already. Would use again

It was a fiasco right from the getgo. <br /> The total for the whole project, on the initial estimate, was ca. $850. <br /> Soon after, I learned that, oh dear, that was a mistake, the total will actually be closer to $1200, w another four absolutely necessary ca. $100 visits. Just an oversight! So sorry! <br /> They negotiated down, SLIGHTLY, but it was still a joke. It was their responsibility for having misrepresented themselves to me, and they took little to no responsibility for it. <br /> The gal that answers their phone is quite unpleasant. The guy that comes to your house is a perfect gentleman, and very professional. Would that everything else was. <br /> The work they did was quite unsatisfactory. With fifty dollars of seed and fertilizer from Home Depot, I got a much better result this year than these self-styled professionals did for ca. 24 times that. <br /> I cannot recommend this company. Quite the opposite, in fact. <br />

The work was performed as quoted and completed in a timely manner. Key to their work was they cleaned up after their too where I would not known they did any work except for clean cuts on my trees. <br />

There is a wooded area behind my house that is of unknown ownership, but some trees there had way overgrown, become diseased and were menacing my house, garage and back yard. I needed the diseased trees taken down, and the general canopy opened up as my backyard had been reduced to a moss-growing area due to lack of sunlight. Ryan came out to survey my needs, gave me a full assessment, told me why some of my ideas would kill the trees, and generally worked with me to come up with a plan to give me back my backyard. <br /> It rained h****** the day they were supposed to come, so they called to reschedule for the next day. I got a call that they were coming, and they were set up just after 8 am. The guys took out trees, mulched them, and generally did a great job of clean up, and making sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I was very pleased with what they did, and look forward to having at least a little grass again!

We lost a blue spruce two years ago that had a fungal infection but Almstead had kept that tree alive for years longer than it would have had untreated. And Almstead came by and cleared space so that cars could get out of our street long before the town came by. <br /> Almstead is expensive, but they are ARBORISTS, not just tree-cutters. So they are focused on keeping trees healthy. And if you lost any trees during Sandy, you know know how important that is.

The company arrived in the early morning 9-10am. with all trucks and equipment (bucket truck, wood chipper machine). Three men were working. they worked continuously until the work was done (about 3 hrs.) . they were very professional and worked hard. The manager showed up about 45min . after work started to check on the project. He was also very professional and accomidating, I had a small pile of wood that needed to be removed and he took care of it, with no problems. Overall I am very happy with the job.

The work they have done has turned out very well. We have been very pleased with their work. Everything they have done for us has been very good and they are very professional. We have used this company multiple times for years. They are not cheapest in the area but I feel they are worth every penny.

I spent about $200 on the job. I had them look at the tree a year before the work was done. I think they do very good work. I was not very thrilled about their work at the current time because they called to see if I wanted the work done and I did not get a chance to call them back. However, they went ahead with the unauthorized work and sent me the bill. I paid the bill, which was not cheap, but they should have waited for confirmation prior to doing the work. Even after I told them to stop doing that, they still continued to call and leave messages saying they were coming the next day to do service. I finally had to call them and state definitively "Do not do any work at my house unless I call you directly!" Based on being backed into a corner and having to do this, which is uncomfortable, unnecessary and just generally annoying, I would opt to use other service providers in the future.
