Great job at a fair price. Will hire again.

It went well. I had expected that the chains would need to be replaced, but instead Al secured the upper part of the windows (which we never open) and adjusted the lower so that they opened and closed easily. The work was promptly and neatly done and, because the job turned out to be simpler than expected, was less expensive. <br />

Wanted to fix the problem caused by large Pine and Magnolia Tree leaves continually clogging gutters causing periodic water damage. Decided to install good quality Gutter Guards and fix the current water damage. <br /> Al kept me informed at least a day in advance of his schedule and arrived when promised which I appreciated. <br /> Below are some of the task I watch Al and his brother do and was very happy with the quality I saw. <br /> <strong>Gutter Guards</strong> <br /> Pressure washer cleaned gutter, downspouts, and surrounding area. <br /> Removed gutters and installed metal protection on fascia board where needed <br /> Adjusted gutter angle to make sure water drained correctly on all sides <br /> Installed and screwed in Guards on all the Gutters to keep in place <br /> Added Metal End caps to prevent squirrels and bird access to gutters. <br /> Corrected a Gutter Problem that caused leaves and debris to collect and build up at one section of the roof allowing water to <br /> flow over sides. <br />   <strong>Back Exterior Jalousie Door Replace</strong> <br /> Bought Solid Core Door and cut to exact size of <br /> old door <br /> Cut out center for the Jalousie windows from the <br /> old door <br /> Primed (Weather Proofed) door on all external <br /> surfaces <br /> Installed the Jalousie Windows from old door <br /> Set Door in place and adjusted for perfect fit <br /> Installed new Aluminum Door Sweep and adjusted <br /> for fit. <br /> Installed and tested new electronic lock <br /> <strong>60x56 Jalousie Window Frame Repair</strong> <br /> Removed Rotting wood at base and along sides <br /> Installed new wood along sides and Vinyl Composite <br /> Simulated Lumber at the base for water resistance. <br /> Caulked all access points around the frame. <br /> <strong>Install New Storm window</strong> <br /> Removed old storm Window frame from Kitchen <br /> Window <br /> Installed new Storm Window <br /> <strong>Other</strong> <br /> Cleaned area and left it looking better than <br /> when they arrived <br /> Sent Pictures of how the Gutter install looked <br /> like from above the roof. <br /> Alerted to other problems (Chimney, Tuck <br /> pointing) I did not know about. <br /> <strong><em>Today is 1-July-2014 and three storms have come through since installation and I have seen none of the problems I had before the guards were installed. I highly recommend Al's Handyman Service. Al and his crew did a great job, they began work promptly, they stayed on schedule (even though the weather was not cooperating) and their prices are good. Al impressed me right away with his smart ideas for the improvements to my home. He is an excellent handyman. A+. <br />

One of our exterior concrete steps leading down to the exterior basement door was split apart and missing a large portion, the retaining wall along side that step was cracked and another step was missing a piece of the surface. Al let me know of a certain kind of vertical surfacing concrete he wanted me to pick up so I could save  money instead of him billing for picking up supplies. <br /> The materials cost $60, he charged 65$ per hour and it came out to $146.25. So he bills in 15 minute increments which is nice. The steps dried within 24 hours and looked good considering it was a patch and not an entire replacement. Our two alternative bids from flatwork companies were around $2000. <br />

I was quite pleased with the service. Since I will be billed for the service, right now I don't know the cost. <br />

I have worked with Al on several occasions now.  I CANNOT say enough good things about his service!  He is responsive, trustworthy and just plain good at fixing stuff!  We trust him to go to our home even when it is vacant to assess and repair areas as needed.  He is conscientious and a great provider to work with! <br />

Extremely well. The guys were efficient, thoughtful about making sure my needs were being met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, professional, tidy -- the whole works. <br />

Al was extremely responsive, friendly, flexible and professional from our first contact until project completion. He was forthcoming regarding scope of his services. He completed all tasks in a timely and thorough manner I wil definitely call on him again. <br />

Al did a phenomenal job!  He was on time for the job.  He is very professional!  He actually charge $766, and I have him a $50 tip for his great service!  He sent me pictures of all the work that needed to be done before and after!  I was very impressed with his work.

We had a list of things that we needed done.  Al contacted us promptly and visited to look at the scope of the issue with our bathroom.  We thought the damage we had was from the water coming from the shower, but he readily diagnosed it as cracks in the exterior wall.  Someone came and did the tuckpointing on the next warm day, and the following week Al and his team did the rest of the work.  They were quick, communicative, and affordable. <br />

I originally called Al back in July to do some work on a rental property.  He arrived promptly at the appointed time and provided good, on the spot feedback for the various tasks that needed to be done.  He handled communicating directly with my tenants to gain access to the property and ultimately completed all of the work to everyone's satisfaction.  One of the things that really impressed me was his professional manner and willingness to invoice for the work after completion.  I have never met a contractor that doesn't seem needy for up front cash.  It conveys confidence in the work he performs that he bills in this way. <br />  I hired Al to take on a more difficult project more recently at my home.  My 60 year old garage was leaning pretty badly to one side and had a completely non-functional entry door.  He took a look and gave me a price on the spot for straightening the garage and doing the necessary bracing to make sure it wouldn't lean right back.  Now, Al could have just done the job as normal and I would have been happy.  However, he really went the extra mile by installing gutter guards, power washing the garage roof and floor and making recommendations for other improvements.  To give you an idea of how dedicated he is, I got home last night at about 6 PM while it was pouring down rain to find him finishing up the power washing of the floor. <br />  I would recommend Al to anyone looking for a great, honest and competent handyman. <br />

Overall we are very satisfied with the job his team did. They are punctual, polite and thorough. Cleaned up after their work. Would recommend and hire him again. <br />

Al and his partner were setup and working within 10 minutes of getting to our house. What I appreciate about Al is that he notices little things that need to be done and just does them (recaulking the bathtub when he was working in the bathroom, using left over concrete patch from the foundation to fill in a spot in the driveway that was broken) - simple stuff that adds little or nothing to the bill but tells me he's paying attention and that he cares. I have had Al work on several projects now, and to be honest, I don't even bother calling anyone else. <br />

I lined up about 3 specific projects and several small to dos that I'd been having trouble with myself.   Al was able to quickly assess and execute the larger project work utilizing good knowledge, the right tools and including me when necessary (e.g., to help lift a 200# awning).   Al was great to work with, polite, punctual, respectful.  The equipment in his van was extremely well-organized and clean.   He was great for taking a look at some To Dos that I was struggling with and either showing me what to do or jumping right in and getting it done with tools and/or knowledge that I didn't have.  Easy to communicate with by email, phone or text and flexible with my schedule knowing that he is busy with other clients.  I've referred Al on and expect to use him going forward.  He is very versatile but if he doesn't have an expertise in something, he told me but shared his thoughts on how I might approach it.
