Things did not go well. They did show up on time (early in fact). I had already moved all my boxes to the new house garage so all that was left was the furniture. It took a full 8 hours to move my furniture to the house down the street. They had given me the rate of $112.00 per hour. A few days before the move he sent me a proposed invoice. There were many additions to the price he had given me including truck cost $120.00 and insurance fee $90.00. With 8 hours of labor the total was far above what was estimated even though I had given a detailed list of what needed to be moved. Once the movers had left, I found several things broken. The keys in my desk drawers had been broken (I found the pieces thrown into a box) off so the drawers are no longer usable. My dining room table had been taken apart and not put back together-there are a few bolts in loosely and many are missing. I found a bookcase leg piece broken off. My outdoor storage bins were broken apart.  I was not told of any of these accidents. The owner of this company is related to a good friend of mine so I feel bad for having to write this report but I would NOT use this company. <br />

<p>Al was there on time and promptly went about getting things moved and packed.  He had staff that was professional and hard working.  Everyone was friendly, demonstrated excellent customer service, and kept a constant with moving things quickly and efficient.  They set up everything in my new house.  Oh, before I forget, I probably have the heaviest furniture in the whole world.  Al and team moved and not one piece was scratched or damaged.  Best part, Al and team returned the next day to remove my garbage and junk.  GREAT JOB!!</p> <p><br /></p> <br />

AMAZING From the time I made the phone call, for an estimate, to the time the move was made All kept us informed of everything they were doing or going to do including wearing booties while in the houses. He and his crew were the consummate professionals and oh, so polite. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again <br />

Let me start by saying that this is the 2nd time this year that I have hired Al's Moving and Labor so although I am NOT a fan of moving in general and what that takes on, I am a fan of Al's Moving and Labor.  Al may not tell you he worked for many, many years for a national moving company and he may not tell you that he is formerly military, but he and his crew are well trained and know what they are doing and are really precise with the detail you need on your moving day.  I am a meeting planner, and it's all in the details and the level of service.  Have you ever had your items shrink-wrapped or paper-wrapped?  Amazing amount of care in their work. <br /> The morning of my move, I got another confirmation call from Al.  When crew arrived, I knew one of them from my move six months ago.  The truck was loaded in 40 minutes and when we arrived at my new location, the  and crew unloaded into a storage unit on site and into my new apartment.  If I changed my mind on where I wanted the furniture placed, they were only professional, patient and kind. <br /> If you are a single middle aged person like me whose friends all are over 50 and have bad backs, do call Al's Moving and Labor for great service and a job very well done.  Buy local.  Call Al. <br /> <br />

As a professional meeting planner, I can honestly say that Al and his team are truly amazing.  They arrived a bit early, wore shoe coverings, worked quietly and efficiently, wrapped all my fragile items and furnishings and loaded the truck.  We made several stops en route to donate furniture which was terrific (of course, it added to the time and thus, cost of the move, but was an important convenience for me). <br /> Al and his crew were polite and handled all of my items with great care.  I am using them again tomorrow (September 25) and am relaxed going into the move.  I so meant to send this review last spring and I apologize to Al for that.  Moving is stressful - but honestly, with Al's Moving and Labor, all your details will be covered and it will be the best moving day you can have. <br />

This company is a pure rip-off. Be prepared to pay a lot more than the original estimate they would provide. <br /> I had the misfortune of using their service for a household move. The move was local from a 2 bed-room apartment to a condominium building. My apartment was lightly furnished. When I called to setup the moving service, I provided exact inventory of items to be moved and locations. My apartment was located on the first floor and condominium building I was moving to had a service elevator. Al quoted that the total move would take 3 hours for 3 men. <br /> The movers came on time and loaded things on the truck. Since I had kept everything neatly organized, the whole process of loading took about 45 minutes. After everything was loaded, I told them that I will meet them at the new location. <br /> When I did not see their truck even after half an hour, I called their cellphone. They were still figuring out my new location on the GPS and blamed construction activities for the delays. The movers arrived at the location exactly 30 minutes after I had arrived. When finally all the furniture and boxes came to the apartment, then began the final ordeal of assembling beds. <br /> I had 2 beds. Both were - a mattress, a box spring and a standard metal frame with no headboard-footboard. Initally, one person tried to assemble the beds. At the end, all three were trying to assemble the metal frame. Basically I paid an hour for their "learning" experience of assembling the furniture. It appeared that they have no experience in assembling the furniture. So, I just told them to live it as it is and I will take care of it. <br /> The leader then prepared the bill for 4Hours. I told them that Al had quoted me a fixed price of $334. The leader called up the company. The company manager in turn said that it is now going to cost me for4.5 hours. [So basically, if you decide to question their pricing tactics, be prepared to pay even more.]  At the end I ended up paying them $426. <br /> I agree that moving experience is not something you look forward to; but having a reliable and honest mover is very important. I must say that this company is far from it. <br />

I've known since early May that I would have a move to make in early July, but it was only a week or so ago that I decided to contract with a mover. So on very short notice, I contacted a few movers. One seems to have gone out of business, as I couldn't get through to them. At another I left a voicemail, but didn't get a response. But Al himself picked up the phone when I called, and was responsive to my job. He estimated that a 2-3 man crew would take about 2-1/2 hours to do my move, and he gave me a quote that was quite acceptable. Most important, he was able to accommodate me with less than a week's notice. <br /> When the day arrived, the movers were scheduled to arrive at 10:00 a.m. Al called early that morning to say they were having an issue with one of the mirrors on the truck, and asked if it would be alright to arrive at 12:30, allowing time for the truck to be fixed. That was fine with me, as it gave me a bit more time to get my things packed and ready to go. <br /> Three men arrived a bit early, surveyed what needed to be done, and got right to work. Loading the truck, driving to my new address (13 miles away), and unloading to just under two hours. The men were happy to do what I asked and were careful with my stuff. I consider it a successful move. <br /> They did inadvertently leave a bag of packing materials at my old address. Al himself dropped by two days later to retrieve it. <br />

<p>Al's men arrived on time and ready to work. They were very courteous and went to work right away. The team leader had been informed about the job to be done and price that had been quoted. Their were no discrepancies.</p> <p>The leaves were from a large wooded lot and had been left in a very large pile all winter making them hard to pick up and bag. The men performing the work did not complain and kept at the job until it was complete.</p> <br />

They are very easy to deal with in communications.  They are timely and a very good crew.  They really went above and beyond what we thought they could do.  They are efficient and well prepared.  They were pleasant to deal with.  Everything was handled with care and nothing broke. I would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

The group of 3 movers showed up VERY promptly and ready to go!  I was so impressed.  They took the time to wrap my furniture and handled my fragile items very carefully.  I could not have asked for 3 better guys.  I would use them again for the fair price and service. <br />

Arrived on time. Did great job of loading, extremely clean and detailed invoicing. Very courteous. Best job of moving I have ever had done. There is no 2nd choice. Go to this business 1st with complete confidence.

I spoke to Al over the phone about my service needs and the next day Al had a crew at my location and had the job completed in 2 hours. Will use Al's company for all of our future moves.

We had a very messy moving situation and Al's went above and beyond our expectations. They professionally removed all the big furniture items (tables, beds, sofas, etc.) and even helped to clear random junk from the house and load a dumpster. All team members were courteous, clean and professional. Al's really helped us out of a jam and even worked on a Sunday! I would definitely use Al's again. <br />

This is the third time I have hired Al's to move/ load  / or unload a rental truck. I could not be happier with their services. They had to move into a 3rd floor apartment this year and as before they were very professional. I highly recommend Al's Moving & Labor service ! I simply emailed Albert and setup the move each time. Very easy to schedule the move. <br />

Start was horrible, got rental truck stuck in the front yard of rental and left the yard a mess. It was like they have never driven a truck before. It took 30 minutes to back down an aisle at the storage facility.

Al & his team arrived within the arranged time span, worked quickly and efficiently. They were extremely friendly and professional during the whole process.

The day looked promising but went really bad in the last 2 hours and then the following day.  I gave Al a check for the services and he asked it be made out in his name and not the business.  He left the house and returned in 15 minutes to ask where my bank was located so he could cash the check.  The bank is a national bank and he just needed to deposit it at his bank.  The next day  Al took the check to a payday loan-type place.  While I was driving he had the quick check pay business call me for my banking information. Since I was not born yesterday I would not provide a stranger with account information.  Then Al called me while I was driving and he was irate and accused me of cancelling my check.   I told Al that his bank could call my bank to verify funds and I did not cancel any check.  I have owned 4 businesses and know the process, apparently Al does not.  He called me several times throughout my drive and was very abusive by yelling on the phone and accusing me of stopping payment on the check.  One time he threatened me saying that this was not over and I would be hearing from someone.  (this time I was sitting down having dinner and wrote notes)  Since I did nothing wrong I had to rely on my own honesty and the good Lord to protect me.  On another call Al told me to cancel my check and send him cash or a cashier's check.  And he claimed that he called my bank and still wanted cash (this call I have saved on voice mail).  I told him it would be quicker to just put his check in to his checking account if he had one.  He told me he had several accounts. <br /> The moving help showed up on time but only 1 of them had good experience for packing a truck properly.  One of the guys was on his cell phone frequently.  They worked very well in the morning and early afternoon.  I gave them each a $20 gratuity before lunch.  It was at the end of the day that they lost focus and could have used Al's supervision.  Some of the workers just didn't know what to do and myself and a friend had to give instructions.   I had to have them repack the back of the moving truck when I discovered a pedestal table inverted with a leg against the curved glass of an antique cabinet.  Again, supervision was an issue.  When unpacking the truck 2 days later I saw boxes labeled "UP" which were turned on their side.  Boxes labeled "fragile" that were on the bottom of 7 other boxes.  Furniture not packed tightly and small boxes falling due to shifting on the 500 mile drive.  Fortunately we know how to pack and did not lose anything.  There were only minor things wrong with a few wood scratches. <br /> I started to question the legitimacy of the way the business was conducted.  The invoices are simply a pad anyone can buy.  After 12 years should one not have a simple printed address on the invoices?  The estimate for services was not put in writing but I called several times to confirm the rate and terms.  The labor is paid as 'contract' labor and not employees even though one guy has worked almost exclusively for Al for 12 years (his words).  Since the check was to be cashed at a payday loan place it is likely the 'contract' labor is paid cash and must report their own earnings.  Sales tax was collected.  But again, the check was not going to be run through a business account.  On day three of my move I did not hear from Al but saw that the check was run through my bank from one of his banks.   <br /> <br />

I would definitely use them again. They were really fair for price compared to other people that I contacted.

Easy to contact. Careful constant mention of details for move. Movers were professional, careful, and efficient. Excellent experience.

They unpacked the unit and put the packing material in my garage. Then they draped the unit with moving blankets and carefully carried it up the stairs to the designated bathroom. They were careful in avoiding any damage either to the piece of furniture or to walls, etc. <br />
