Alte Roofing

Bad timing that earlier this month (Dec.) we learned we needed some serious roof repairs or maybe even a new installation. Of the local roofers I contacted, Alte was the only one who was able to schedule the work within a couple of weeks. They also had a load of great reviews & a top BBB rating, so I made an appt for Chris to do an inspection & go over some options. He was thorough, professional, & took the time to explain all the details & answer our questions. Despite the sticker shock, we decided a new roof was the way to go. The weather cooperated & 2 weeks later, over 2 days, the job was done. I can't say enough good things about Chris, Frank (project manager), & the site foreman & his incredible crew. The organization, workmanship (which also included new chimney flashing & roof vent repairs), & communication were all great. Everything was carefully prepped, but I was especially impressed by (& grateful for) the thorough cleanup -- even down to small things like placing the patio furniture & window well covers back exactly as they were. Whether it all proves to be a "good value" is subjective & depends on things like budget; but the new roof does look beautiful, & if the GAF 50-yr warranty holds up as claimed, then yes, it's a good value. Bottom line: I would recommend Alte without any hesitation.

Dylan the salesman arrived promptly, and was extremely helpful, professional, and courteous. We scheduled the removal and replacement of the roof of our house and shed, including new flashing around the chimneys. The installation was scheduled in a timely manner. Kathy in the office was extremely nice and helpful too! The day of the installation the crew showed up on time promptly at 7am and got right to work. They put down protective drop cloths all around the perimeter of the house. We've never seen such a hardworking crew. Throughout the day the project managers checked in on the crew. The crew returned the following day and worked hard until they completed the job later that day. When they finished, they used a magnet sweeper all around the house to make sure they got all the nails, and cleaned up any debris that was left in the yard. When they were finished, you wouldn't have known they had been here! The dumpster was picked up promptly the next morning. The project managers Tim and Logan arrived the same morning that the dumpster was picked up to make sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction. Our roof looks excellent! We highly recommendation Alte Roofing to anyone considering a new roof, or any type of roof repair!

Alte roofing was professional from the beginning quote to the final cleanup. Their employees arrived on time and worked efficiently to install our brand new roof. The materials that they used are great quality and the project manager Logan was wonderful about explaining everything as the job progressed very clearly and completely. Once the roofing was completed Alte cleaned up everything so well that it looked like there hadn’t even been any work done! This was the 3rd installation they have done for me. Each at a different location. As with the other 2 it was a great job with quality material. The team is easy to work with and responsive to the needs of the client. I'm running our of roofs but would only consider using them again if necessary.

The Alte Roofing team did a great job on the gutter cleaning and even fixed a minor issue I was having on the roof. They are reliable and professional. I definitely recommend them.

Very smooth. They did the whole project in one long day. They were prompt and started early in the morning. They never really took a break and didn't finish until after 6 at night. I was shocked as I figured it would be a 2-3 day job but one long day they knocked it all off. I've had a lot of compliments on the roof since it finished up.

They replaced the missing roof shingles ($500 for up to 10), and the garage roof looks terrific. The new shingles match perfect,y and you can't tell they as ever any damage to the roof. They did a good job and cleaned up afterward.

They were very efficient, cleaned up after themselves. They were excellent as far as that goes, I just think they were a little pricey.

It was fine. I wasn't here that day, so I don't know. Yes, it was fine. We just use them every year to clean our gutters, and we used them to replace our gutters. We have used them for three to four years.

Estimate was provided by Jeff the same day. He provided a lot of information and went over all the details of what was going to be done. I was given an estimated start date for the job. The workers showed up on the day they were supposed to. The entire job went extremely well and they did a thorough clean up when they were done. I would definitely use Jeff Alte Jr Roofing in the future.

Jeff Alte's prices were right in line with what my homeowners insurance estimated.  There was no last up-charging or hidden costs. <br> <br>The work was performed in 2 days.  The roofers were prompt, courteous, and trustworthy.  Any roofing debris was cleaned up during the job and at the end of each day.   <br> <br>The dumpster for the old roof was delivered and removed promptly.  Alte Roofing ensured that my driveway and any workspaces were clean at the end of the job.   <br> <br>The workmanship was fantastic.  The workers were great.  The prices were accurate and there were no hidden fees, expenses, or surprises.   <br> <br>Jeff Alte Roofing has my highest recommendation.  

Work crew arrived early and went right to work very professional and had safe work habits. Took great care to not cause any damage to house, lawn, shrubs or driveway. Everything covered and protected. Job was completed in a day and a half. Property left clean as if no one had been here working. They did an outstanding job.

In 2006 Jeff Alte Roofing out of Blairstown New Jersey did a new roof job on our home.  This included tear-off, snow and ice shield, and new 30 year Tamko anti-moss shingles.  The carport was re-roofed with a second layer.  There were some problems during the job and after.  Drip edge was not installed in one location and the company was reluctant to come back and do this.  A screen window was damaged and we had to repair it. <br />     The major complaint is this.  3 to 4 years into our 30 year roof with anti-moss shingles we got moss growing over 40 percent of the roof.  We contacted Jeff Alte Roofing, out of Blairstown New Jersey at that time, and his response was "not my problem, contact the roofing manufacturer".  Within a year after that the caulking where the trim meets the roof started to give way.  We contacted the roofer, Jeff Alte Roofing, out of Blairstown New Jersey, and were told by "Jeff " not my problem, you can have us do a yearly maintanance call". <br />      7 to 8 years into the roof we developed leaks in four locations.  I again contacted Jeff Alte Roofing, out of Blairstown New Jersey at the time .  Jeff's response was "call the roofing manufacturer".  We did this and they suggested we have a certified roofer come in and inspect the roofing.  We did this and the certified roofer's report was  initially:  poor materials, nail pops through the shingles, poor workmanship,  We had a choice of going through Tamko to attempt to get a pro-rated discount to put their shingles back on our roof or just forget about it. <br />     Today we are half way through a complete re-roof job after 8 to 9 years on a 30 year roof.  The certified roofing contractor and I have seen:  poor materials, poor workmanship, cutting corners to save money and an overall poor quality job on the tear-off, evaluation of the underdecking and re-roofing of our home. <br />      Due to the poor quality job provided by Jeff Alte Roofing, at the time out of Blairstown New Jersey, shingles were mossing over, shingles were cracking, nails were popping through the shingles, calking was failing, the shingles underneathe were wet and full of frost, the tar paper, only 8 to 9 years old, was cracking, was wet and full of frost on top and underneathe and in contact with the roof decking. <br />       <br />     There was a lack of proper decking support to support the shingles, something we should have been made aware of while the roof was stripped.   <br />     The end result is we are in the process of replacing the entire roof after only 8 to 9 years and due to Jeff Alte Roofing, at the time out of Blairstown New Jersey, the roof decking on one third of the house had to be completely replaced, decking on the carport had to be replaced in spots and over the bedroom areas decking had to be moved and filled in to replace gaps that Jeff Alte Roofing, at the time out of Blairstown New Jersey, overlooked, cut corners, did not care, did not tell us or all of the above. <strong>Structural damage has occurred to our home due to this contractor.</strong>  <strong>Thousands of dollars have been wasted by having this contractor do our roof.</strong>  Stress and undue situations have occurred by having this contractor do our roof. <br />       <br /> <br />
