Great. Jose, the foreman, stopped by when I wasn't home and provided an estimate in my mail slot. The crew of five showed up right on time. They were very efficient and got the three down in just under four hours without any damage to my under-story trees or shrubs. They cleaned up so well that my leaf covered lawn actually looked better than when they showed up. I have two other mature trees that are waning. I will definitely have them do additional estimates as I need those trees removed (they are all looming over my house).

They were good. They did what they said they would do and they did it well. I had three estimates. One was a little bit lower but I just didn't like the people. I didn't feel good about them and so, I didn't choose them based on some reaction I had to them. He seemed to want to work because his original price for all of the stuff was $1200 then he came down $100. While he was here, he saw that we needed another tree stump ground out and removed. He said that if I wanted to pay him the original which was just $400 more, he would do that stump. That was a very good deal because taking that tree stump out was a big project. He was good on the price. They were good on responsiveness. For punctuality, I miscommunicated at my end but they were very patient with me and they never got annoyed with me. I apologized and they said it is alright. That happened not once but twice on my part.

Crew worked well together, were very polite, worked the entire day into the night, and all seemed to be very good people.  Another company provided a much lower price for the same job, I was going to go with that company, but the office worked to get my business.  The crew was careful when taking large branches down.  They showed up a day early, but that worked well for me.  The crew worked steadily and took only very short breaks.  My neighbors love them and had nothing but positive things to say about them. <br /> <br /> We paid $3,000 as arranged with the owner

This company was professional from start to finish. They were punctual showing up for the estimate and the price was fair. <br /> When the crew arrived to do the work, they were very polite, made sure the area was clear of all cars and assured me that they would also clean up our next door neighbors yard should branches, etc. fall into their yard.  <br /> The crew did all of that and were finished in less than 4 hours. They refused to take my check until I came out and checked over everything and told them I was satisfied.  Very professional and polite-- great experience. <br />

<p>A crew of four came for the job in early morning; 1 climber + 3 ground crew. They were on site about six hours, took a large, very tall red oak tree down and also removed two large limbs from an adjacent oak equally as large. They were extremely adept in roping the sections down to the ground and managed to drop pieces skillfully unto a very small, tight section of the yard. I was amazed on how good and careful they were at their craft. The remaining stump is scheduled to be grinded by a separate team. The price Alvarado originally quoted seemed fair to me but they still lowered their estimate with additional discounts to my joy; I had obtained two other estimates that came in higher by other likewise reputable tree companies. We used Alvarado before about 8 years ago and were pleased to see the quality of their work has not diminished. Family owned, they are not the fanciest, but they have the skills, the right tools and equipment to do the job right. </p> <br /> <br /> <br />

They are very good and I am getting ready to call them again because we have some big trees where we live. They were very nice and reasonable as far as different things. They clean up very well after themselves.

We obtained several estimates to have the work done, and Alvarado's was the best by far. They readily supplied proof of insurance as well as references. The plan was for one crew to cut the trees down and a separate crew to grind the stumps approximately a week later. The first crew arrived a few minutes early and got right to work bringing the trees down. They worked steadily from 8am to 4:30pm, brought the trees down, removed all of the debris and then left the site in a very tidy condition. We expected the second crew a week later, but they came the following business day to grind the stumps and complete the job. We are very, very pleased with the result. Everyone on their crew was extremely professional and pleasant to work with. <br />

All workers were very pleasant and professional; unfortunately the job was a lot more work then what they were told. Worked steadily from 9 am until almost 8 p.m. --they certainly could have used another day as <strong> had been estimated.</strong> Several of the massive trunk pieces were dropped - estimator had promised this would not happen. Clean up was promised - but I am still cleaning up after their departure - massive amounts of sawdust were blown into flower beds along with other debris and with the recent rains are now suffocating plants/flowers. Company overbooks and these poor guys are held responsible for the mess that is left behind. Overall I would rate the workers as a B+, the estimator a B and the company a B-. They are overall much more professional then other companies I have used (Appalacian) . <br />

They never called the utility company so they could have run into lines. We had to get in contact with them multiple times. They never came when they said they would and when I called they weren't very polite. We had to reschedule multiple times. We went to put in a sapling this year and found out that our stump and roots still aren't removed. I called him to see if they could come out to finish it up and they said I never specified it. They said they would come out and look at it. They never showed. I called them and they said someone would come out the next day, I let them know I was going to leave a negative response and they still took no action.

Guys arrived on time explained what was going to happen, then got to work. Each stage the work site was cleaned and next stage begun. Very professional pleasant guys. The site was left cleaner and tidier than when they arrived. <br />

Just received (8/12/2013) notice from Angie's List that I had not completed this feedback! Wonder why they haven't asked me sooner since the work was done about 3 years ago, if memory serves. While I don't remember the cost, I believe it was reasonable. And I was pleased with their responsiveness and work. <br />

My overall experience with Alvarado Tree Service was outstanding from start to finish. I called early Saturday (June 23rd) to obtain an estimate and was given a 4:00 pm appointment. At approximately 3:45, I was contacted by the company and informed that the estimator would be at my home after 5:00 pm because of other damage in the area that the company was assessing. Alvarado Tree Service won me over at that point. How many contractors call to let you know that they will be late? Once the estimator arrived, he introduced himself and apologized for the delay. He provided me with a written estimate that was reasonable and was able to schedule an appointment to remove the tree on the spot. That is after I signed the contract to have the work performed. I determined that Alvardo's was the best company for the task at hand after getting estimates ranging from $2,500 to $5,500! The four-man crew arrived about 15 minutes early on June 26 to remove the tree. The foreman was professional and friendly. It took about two hours for the crew to remove both parts of the tree. Alvarado Tree Service removed the tree, hauled it from my yard, and cleaned up the debris. I woud use this company again.

I found the prices to be pretty comparable for both times, which means that the 2011 rate was actually pretty good. They were timely; it was a bit more effort this year than in 2008 to get the appointment set up. They missed the first time, and I had to reschedule. I felt that the final product, which is the trimming of the tree, was perhaps not quite as I had expected it to be as it was in 2008. I had higher expectations with them based on my experience in 2008. Overall, they were great in 2008 but were average in 2011. I don't know if I would use them again in the future; I would use Angie's List before I hire them again.

They were punctual with both the estimate and actual service. The work went well and they left the yard clean of debris. When they finished removing the trees they said they could not grind the stump because the ground was wet, however, they returned a week later and took care of the stump. I would use them again.
